So I'm currently trying to get my Dualshock 4 to play nice with my phone. I've followed multiple guides and YouTube videos in an attempt to get it working with games. Mainly been trying for Modern Combat 5 and GTA San Andreas. I have an OTG cable and it connects fine and works perfectly with PS4 remote play so I know the connection itself is working. The problem I am having is that the controller has seemingly random button mappings, for example if I click the touch pad I crouch or press triangle and I jump in San Andreas. I have Sixaxis Controller installed and from the menu it seems I have all the mappings correct after triple checking. I'm using one of the 20th anniversary Dualshock 4s if that matters at all.
Anyone have any luck with this problem? I can't seem to get it to do anything with Sixaxis Controller at this point so I'm pretty lost.

Has anyone had success with setting up a profile for this game using sixaxis controller?
No matter what I do the right analog stick wont work correctly
Same problem
Hey Koszor, same problem here... the button mapping of my sixaxis controller (official controller) seems to be incorrect.
How did you get the left analog to work?
I just put the left analog stick on the left side , it worked perfectly. I'll post a screenshot tomorrow of what I have so far cause it worked just fine for me.
The right analog stick for me was a little screwey it worked.. just not as it should.

I don't have the game, but I've played shooter games that don't have gamepad support. If your character isn't fully rotating, try setting your aiming stick to 'relative touch' mode.
Hope that helps, it did for me in the past.

I figured out why it didn't work:
You hace to press Start in the sixaxis controller app first. Then wait for the app to get superuser acces (I get a little notification) and then press the sony-logo on the controller. This way my controller is recognised as a supported controller (the lights on the controller stop flashing, and the P1 light stays on).
I added my profiles of Modern Combat 3 and COD:BOZ for the Asus Transformer Prime (but they may work on your Nexus 7 too...)
put the .map files in data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller/profiles/ and select the profile in the sixaxis app as active profile
Does anyone know of any bluetooth controllers that work with our device? Phonejoy or anything? I'm on slim rom 4.2.2 build 2 with KTmanta kernel.Thanks.
Ps3 will work with the sixaxis app.

I use a $30 "controller for tablets" that I got from GameStop. It works perfect in my Game Boy Advance and SNES emulator. In the emulator itself go to controls and then assign the buttons however you want. The one problem with modern versions of Android is that when a bluetooth controller is connected, you can no longer use the on-screen keyboard because the controller is your input device. You have to disconnect the controller (or just disable bluetooth) if you want to type stuff again. No that big a deal since you only really have it on while playing a game anyway
Looks like it is on sale now for $20:

Ps3 controller through sixaxis app is awesome and has more native game pad support from apps than any others I've seen... Some games even change all the buttons in game to reflect the ps3 controller... I like where it would normally say "tap here" and it will say "push X"
The bard's tale comes to mind
Plus it let's you set up touch emulation for games that don't have native game pad support
Thanks for the input guys! I tried the one from gamestop. It was red samurai brand. Didn't work. Phonejoy is updating their hardware and is no longer manufacturing those remotes. I'm gonna go with sixaxis. Thanks!!
So, i have a nexus 7 2012 rooted and i bought an OTG cable.I wanted to connect my logitech f310 gamepad and everythings worked fine...but i launched in modern combat 4 and the camera is spinning around...same for gta san andreas.I checked dead trigger 2 but it is working good.I tried the tutorials with xbox wirless problems but no solution...Anybody has an idea how to make this gamepad to work with this 2 games?
Some controllers work better than others, the 360 and PS3 controllers for example will have support in a lot of games where a more uncommon controller such as yours will not have support in all of the same games.
You can use an app like this to map controls and have your controller work with unsupported games...that app is said to be tested and compatible with your Logitech F310 :good:
I have had this tegra note for a few days and cannot get my Xbox controller working.
It worked once for me while I was using ppsspp, once I closed the app it stopped working. I just tried the controller on my brothers nexus 7 2g and it connected fine showing player one. My tegra just showed all flashing lights
When I plug in the controller flashes for a second, then stops. I press the guide button and then it just flashes. Holding start the the gamepad mapper never starts.
I tested USB/BT joy center but it says no USB device found

Works for me just been playing on Dead Tigger 2 without issues both With wired and wireless controller versions
I was about to the buy the Nexus Player, along with the controller, and I was wondering if someone could test the controller on the OUYA. I really like the Nexus Player's controller, so I was wondering if it can be used to replace to the OUYA controller?
Idk, But if/when they release kernel source you could probably port the controller to ouyas kernel if you had to
Will the ouya or ps4 controllers work on Nexus player. God I hope so. I have 4 ouya and 4 ps4 controllers. I can't afford to buy any more controllers.
Does anyone have an answer for this?

By default, the Ouya controller does not work very well, the button mapping is all messed up. Once we get root, I can add the proper keyboard layout files from the Ouya and let you know if that works. At least it pairs just fine.
Ps4 controller does not work
I've tried a bunch of times to get the PS4 controller to work, but I cannot get it to pair over bluetooth and I don't have a usb otg cable to see if it works over usb. :/
Do you have the nexus player gamepad? Can it pair with OUYA and play games?

I do not have a Nexus Player gamepad. I already have 4 Ouya gamepads, so I thought getting another one was just too much.
I've got the nexus gamepad delivered to me yesterday and although I haven't tested pairing it with the ouya yet, I'm pretty sure that the button mapping will be messed up. I have paired it with my note 10.1 2014 and it works great! Especially with Limelight (whatever the newest root ver is)
Yup, as said above, it DOES pair, but the mapping is all messed up. One of the keypad buttons maps to 'back', not had the triggers working in anything. But some games have still been playable.
Hope someone gets this working as it's also quite good to have the touchpad area to move around too.
Oh, the other thing is both the standard gamepad and the ouya gamepad when paired show as the same controller (ie, player1). Not sure where the other ouya pad I've got is to see if that turns up as player2.
