Galaxy S5 unroot. - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys and gals.
I'm in a slight trouble with my Galaxy S5. I'm trying to restore it to official firmware, after the previous owner made a poor rooting on it, and, it's acting weird. I downloaded the official firmware (G900FXXU1BOC7), but, Odin keeps on giving me Fail. I enabled USB debugging, and tried different cables, different USB ports. And it's didn't work. Now, I read that I need the same firmware or more recent than the one currently installed on my phone, so I downloaded Phone INFO, and it gives me weird info. It suddenly says that the Phone Model is:
SM-G900P
PDA Version: G900PVPU3BOG1
CSC Version: G900PSPT1BOA6
Baseband Version: G900PVPU3BOG1
(Which a quick search led me to believe that this is a CyanogenMod rom)
But in the Phone Settings > About, It says:
Model Number: SM-G900F
BASEBAND VERSION: G900FXXU1BOC7.
I am sure that this is the G900F model. So, now, how do I restore it to an original firmware?

Go to download mode and see what model it is.

It says G900P.

Then you have the P variant (no matter what the settings say).....this is turning into a fairly common issue on the S5 forums....

Then, I just have to install stock G900P firmware, right?

For future searches. I just flashed it with the official G900P firmware. The latest there was.

How can I return to stock firmware from CM 12.1 (Android 5.1)

Hi,
My Device is:
SM-N9005 LTE (32GB)
It was running 4.4. Kitkat and I tried to flash Android 5.0 via Odin. Everything went fine except wifi which did not turn on at all. While searching I found out that many users faced this and there isn't a best fix available yet. Probably I flashed a wrong firmware which may have caused some csc mismatch or kernel issue. I definitely needed the wifi back so i went on to try and experiment more on the device which brought me to CM 12.1 and I flashed it via TWRP. It brought back my wifi but now i miss some of my staple apps on this device especially S Pen Stylus & S health. I tried the simple method - downloading a firmware from sammobile and flashing it through Odin but it failed in Odin. Is there any way I can go back to to Stock firmware? My knox is at 0x1 but it doesn't matter much.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,
I already tried that but it gives this error.
Maybe you have updated your bootloader that's why you can't downgrade. Try lollipop roms. Or try a tw based custom rom with twrp.
What is the baseband and bootloader on your phone?
Match the last 4 characters to firmware here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/
I'm sorry for hijacking this post, but something fairly similar happened to me.
I've got an SM-N900, decided to update to Lollipop but despite all my efforts I've been getting awful battery life so I'd like to go back to KK.
Right now I'm using
Bootloader & PDA: N900UBUEBOF1
CSC: N900PGUEBOF2
Baseband: N900UBUEBOC3
and would like to go back to
PDA: N900UBUDND1
CSC: N900UWADND3
I've been reading and found that you need to flash this if your bootloader is on Lollipop, this is where my doubts begin. How do I know if my bootloader has been updated to Lollipop? If my BL is on Lollipop and I flash that file, can I install any KK rom?
Thank you for reading this, and I apologize for hijacking this thread.

SGH-i337M WiFi issues after ODIN firmware update URGENT!!

I was running a modified ROM on my device and I decided I'd rather go back to stock touchwiz.
I did some searching and found a link to a lollipop 5.0.1 release.
I then flashed the file though odin, did a complete factory reset after and booted my device.
It booted fine and everything worked until I decided I'd connect my device to the wifi. The issue I'm having is, the wifi on the phone wont turn on. The switch flicks, but goes back to the off position in less than a second.
I'm wondering what could be the issue here. I still haven't found a right modem to flash as I believe thats the issue.
model: SGH i337M
baseband: i337MVLUEMK6
build: LRX22C.I337MVLUGOC4
urgent help needed.
Thanks in advance.
Did you flash the latest firmware from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-I337M/
Your wifi probably doesn't work because the baseband doesn't match the bootloader.

Hello again, I tried to flash the newest G900F and it faild.
then i tried to flash the newest g900P an it works.
But now the main question.
I bought that phone in germany as g900f and of course i believe its a g900p
ist it possible to switch between F / P ?
cause if its not possible i could complain the vendor
i think the vendor will say "you root the phone - you did that"
thank you for the answers
No, you were sold a G900P under the false pretence it was the G900F
You are not alone, many places are doing the same thing to get rid of unwanted models by labelling them as G900F, even changing parts of the firmware, stickers, box etc to say G900F
Download mode never lies, it can not be changed
Next time you buy an S5, check download mode first

Problem with OTA update, my S4 cant find latest updates (GT-I9505)

I have problem with OTA updates, my S4 cant find update for Lollipop 5.0.1, i tryed with flashing stock rom in odin, but i received a message; Nand Write FAILED. My current version is 4.4.4. Please help me !!!
Did you try using the original Samsung USB cable? Did you try other USB cables and USB ports? What file is Odin failing to write to the phone?
Trajko03
I think aboot and NAND Write Failed
If I'm not mistaken, only the T-Mobile S4 got Android 4.4.4. Everyone else in the family from what I recall skipped that version and went straight to 5.0.1. Could you please verify your model number by entering download mode?
If the model number is an I9505, install Phone Info from the Play Store, run it, and provide us with your AP, PDA, and CSC.
Stopping at the aboot file leads me to believe that the rom doesn't match the phone or the bootloader in the phone is too new.

Install a custom ROM. Your device is not an international (GT-I9505) model but a T-Mobile device. The SGH-M919 is the only Galaxy S4 model - other than models offered by Straight Talk - to not be upgraded to Android 5.0.1. Odin fails because the ROMs you're attempting to install are not for your device. There are no OTA updates because the update path stopped at the version of Android you currently have.
Stock sgh-m919n ROMs are here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-M919N/
S4 T-Mobile XDA forum is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile

...i must root my phone and unlock my bootloader or my phone(T-Mobile) will get lollipop???
Your bootloader isn't locked. However, installing a custom recovery, which is needed to install a custom ROM, will trip Knox. After 3-1/2 years however, tripping Knox is no longer an issue as there is no warranty left on the device.
The custom ROM you install will likely be pre-rooted, so Android Pay and Pokémon Go are out; neither of which is a big deal.

32GB TGY Motherboard and custom ROMs

I have a question regarding a motherboard I bought. I used Phone Info and I get the following information:
Phone Model: SM-N9005/Galaxy Note 3
Device Type: hlte
Product Name: hltezh
CSC Code: TGY
Bootloader Version: N9005ZHUENB1
Baseband Version: N9005ZHUENA6
Phone Info says there is a newer firmware (N9005ZSUGPJ2) but when I try the firmware updater via the Settings app it says I'm already on the latest update. I also can't find the current bootloader (N9005ZHUENB1) and baseband (N9005ZHUENA6) on Sammobile.
Do I need to update to Android 5.0 as it is still on 4.4.2 and I want to use LineageOS 16.0. Will the current firmware (4.4.2) work when I want to root the phone and install TWRP to install LineageOS 16.0?
5 is on sammobile and other sites N9005ZSUGPJ2

But can I flash it via Odin on this motherboard? I've read on another thread that it is used for 16GB TGY motherboards because it has another PIT file.

Try it, if it failed, don't flash with CSC, if it also failed, just leave it like that.
You want to try LOS16, it is fine, I booted Pie ROMs, RR, with KitKat bootloader older than yours.
If you had any problems later, just flash modem & bootloader files only.
No need to flash the whole stock ROM.

Thank you for your advice! I can confirm it worked, I just flashed LOS16 and WiFi, Bluetooth & LTE just work fine.
