I was running a modified ROM on my device and I decided I'd rather go back to stock touchwiz.
I did some searching and found a link to a lollipop 5.0.1 release.
I then flashed the file though odin, did a complete factory reset after and booted my device.
It booted fine and everything worked until I decided I'd connect my device to the wifi. The issue I'm having is, the wifi on the phone wont turn on. The switch flicks, but goes back to the off position in less than a second.
I'm wondering what could be the issue here. I still haven't found a right modem to flash as I believe thats the issue.
model: SGH i337M
baseband: i337MVLUEMK6

urgent help needed.
Thanks in advance.
Did you flash the latest firmware from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-I337M/
Your wifi probably doesn't work because the baseband doesn't match the bootloader.

Hi,
I had installed the CyanogenMod 10.2 available in the original android development section on my I9500. I flashed it in the morning. everything was working fine except camera till afternoon. Suddenly on afternoon i observe that my phone has entered into emergency signals mode and was not connected to my mobile network. First i thought it was signal problem but upon reading found out that it is IMEI getting changed problem. I have installed Stock ROM again to try if it solves the problem but sadly it doesnt .
Anyone out there faced the same issue and can help me?
Thanks

I have an Indian model I9500 . I tried flashing Omega Rom before trying CM. For Omega ROM i flashed XXUBMG9. After that i flashed back the Stock firmware I9500XXUAMDE_I9500ODDAMDC_INU. Then i flashed CM. CM worked fine for half a day. Then it failed connecting to my network.
With the method you are telling i flashed my stock firmware modem first, but it didnt work. Now i flashed XXUBMG9 and it worked.
Can't i go back to my stock firmware modem now? Am I stuck with this modem ?

you still on the first old firmware for India (MDE).
you can take ota update and then the modem will be replaced. or flash latest Indian firmware (MG5) and you will be on full stock.
PS. i guess that modem does not affect warranty.

MEA firmware came with DDUBMEA modem. try to flash this modem alone as "phone" twice http://d-h.st/c9i
any way these are all INS firmwares http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-I9500&pcode=INS#firmware
I tried flashing MEA modem twice all other Indian Modems twice and nothing worked. It is only working on XXUBMG9 modem. I am really stuck on this modem.
Does anyone has a theory of why this is happening? Omega ROMv14 wanted flashing this modem as a prerequisite. I had flashed this modem before flashing Omega. Then i went back to my stock and flashed CM over my stock ROM. CM wasworking fine till sometime , then it started to drop the signals and later i realized i lost my imei. If i flash back the MG9 modem the i get the proper my phones imei and network connects. But for all other modem of india it just shows the generic imei and doesnt connect to network.
Can anyone help me postmortem this case and tell what went wrong where?
all failed

wat if I flash stock ware and again flash it with stock ware, while doing that I shall interrupt the flashing and take it to service center then is there any possibility of them recovering my imei in stock ware
Hi, i need help choosing a good modem. I am currently using my samsung s4 on the o2 uk network. I dont know much about the right modem.
But how can i find the latest modem that is designed to operate on a uk network?
any help is much appreciated.
What's wrong with the modem firmware that is currently on your S4?
Under ordinary circumstances the modem firmware is only changed when the ROM itself is changed. For example, an OTA update to go from Android 4.4.2 to Android 5.0.1 would include a new modem designed for Android 5.0.1. The only time the modem firmware may need to be changed outside of an OTA update is if the device is rooted and the user is installing a custom Android 5.x ROM. This is because custom ROMs do not include updated modem firmware or bootloaders. In that case the modem would be updated manually using the Odin software.

thanks for responding,
Before i flashed my phone to a custom rom the signal i received was very good. however, since i have flashed a few roms along with their matching baseband i have noticed that the signal is not as good as it was before the phone was flashed.
i can only assume that i have changed a baseband to one of which is not suited to the uk networks, if that is a possibilty. i was wondering which baseband would be best suited for a uk network?
that is if not using the correct baseband can cause signal issues?
The correct baseband for your device should be I9505XXUHOB7. If that isn't what you're running you can download it from the baseband thread in S4 General and flash it through Odin. If you're running something later than that though, I wouldn't bother changing it. For example, my I9505 was originally on O2 before being unlocked, and it's using a later baseband, I9505XXUHOF2, which happens to be from the unbranded German ROM. I'm having no issues using it on Straight Talk here in the United States.
While updating the baseband can help, you might also want to investigate whether the ROM itself might actually be the source of your signal woes.

Im currently running the 4.4.2 XXUGNK4 goldeneye rom. would it still be ok if i went ahead and flashed the I9505XXUHOB7 along with it considering that is a lollipop version of the baseband?
In that case you'd want to get the latest Android 4.4.2 baseband possible from the aforementioned thread and install that. You'd cause more problems if you tried using the HOB7 baseband while still using an Android 4.4.2 bootloader.

thanks , ill try that now.
a little of topic is it possible to flash a lollipop bootloader and then revert back to a bootloader designed for the 4.4.2 kitkat roms?
You'd have to try it and find out. I do believe it's possible since Knox is in both bootloaders, but I haven't had a reason to test it.
Hi guys. I'm having a problem with my WiFi. It will often be stuck in trying to turn itself on and when it does switch on, it can't connect to any WiFi. I've tried rebooting my phone, flashing stock Samsung rom, re-rooting and flashing different custom roms but none of it seem to work at all. I'm currently on temasek v15.6 and using N9005.
Anyone has any idea about what may be wrong? I read somewhere online that it may be hardware issue since the radio chip houses both the WiFi and Bluetooth. I am able to use my Bluetooth without any problem so I am quite sure it isn't the radio chip problem.
What 'stock samsung rom' did you flash?
Did the bootloader and modem update?
As a last resort i'd try it with a pit file to repartition your phone.

I went to use the latest Samsung lollipop from sammobile. It changed my baseband to that version of lollipop though. What's a pit file and how is it done? BTW, I flashed to stock using odin.
This is the stock I was using. The PDA version is N9005DXUGBOF1 and the CSC version is N9005OLBGBOF1. Lollipop 5.0 (Singapore).
I've tried the method that was being recommended but still having no luck at all with my WiFi.. Thanks anyway.
Hi,
My Device is:
SM-N9005 LTE (32GB)
It was running 4.4. Kitkat and I tried to flash Android 5.0 via Odin. Everything went fine except wifi which did not turn on at all. While searching I found out that many users faced this and there isn't a best fix available yet. Probably I flashed a wrong firmware which may have caused some csc mismatch or kernel issue. I definitely needed the wifi back so i went on to try and experiment more on the device which brought me to CM 12.1 and I flashed it via TWRP. It brought back my wifi but now i miss some of my staple apps on this device especially S Pen Stylus & S health. I tried the simple method - downloading a firmware from sammobile and flashing it through Odin but it failed in Odin. Is there any way I can go back to to Stock firmware? My knox is at 0x1 but it doesn't matter much.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,
I already tried that but it gives this error.
Maybe you have updated your bootloader that's why you can't downgrade. Try lollipop roms. Or try a tw based custom rom with twrp.
What is the baseband and bootloader on your phone?
Match the last 4 characters to firmware here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/
I'm sorry for hijacking this post, but something fairly similar happened to me.
I've got an SM-N900, decided to update to Lollipop but despite all my efforts I've been getting awful battery life so I'd like to go back to KK.
Right now I'm using
Bootloader & PDA: N900UBUEBOF1
CSC: N900PGUEBOF2
Baseband: N900UBUEBOC3
and would like to go back to
PDA: N900UBUDND1
CSC: N900UWADND3
I've been reading and found that you need to flash this if your bootloader is on Lollipop, this is where my doubts begin. How do I know if my bootloader has been updated to Lollipop? If my BL is on Lollipop and I flash that file, can I install any KK rom?
Thank you for reading this, and I apologize for hijacking this thread.
Hello,
I have an I337 - Fido - Galaxy S4.
I was using an I9505 ROM.
I just flashed stock Fido ROM using Odin.
Everything seems to be working except for my WIFI.
When I try to turn the WIFI on the switch doesn't stay on...Just switches back to off.
I have done battery pull, and factory reset.
Can't seem to find a solution.
Some help would be great. Thanks.

Used the stock rom from sammobile.com - Fido - Seemed to install Bell bloatware though.
Carrier reads Fido.
Not sure how to check modem, bootloader and IMEI...
Doesn't really matter which carrier firmware you flash as all Canadian carriers use the same firmware with a bit of customization.
Did you flash stock 4.4.2 or 5.01?
