I have a unlocked Verizon Galaxy Note 3, I have t-mobile cellular service, how would I get the update? My phone is not rooted, when I try to see if there are any updates, it keeps saying its not able to update.
I have a AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 (Unlocked) and I am currently using it on Cricket wireless. The phone is currently running on Android 4.4.3 and I would like to update the same to Lollipop. Samsung Galaxy S4 got Lollipop rolled out by AT&T recently but I was not able to get the same since I switched carriers.
Now what is the best way to update the phone. If possible I don't want to root the phone. I went to best buy local store but they were not able to do the same as they said the phone is unlocked. Please let me know how I can update my phone to the latest version. It will be really helpful if someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks all in advance for the help.
Will putting a AT&T sim in my phone help with the OTA? In the sense if I get an AT&T sim card from someone or purchase one and put it in to my phone will that help with the OTA? I am not sure if this phone was unlocked by AT&T.
I was able to successfully install the updates on my phone. I was able to downgrade my phone by installing stock 4.4.2 using ODIN and then was able to upgrade my device to 4.4.4 first and then update to 5.0.1 via OTA. It was an easy process and the instructions in the ODIN thread was really helpful.

I too have an unlocked SGH-I337 that is unlocked from AT&T and I'm using it on T-Mobile. How did you perform the Lollipop update without an AT&T SIM? I took mine to the Samsung experience at Best Buy and they weren't able to do it via Kies and they believe it's because it's unlocked. Nothing else has been done to it, just the AT&T unlock so that I could switch carriers.
Thanks in advance,
Charlotte
Hello,
I have a Tmobile Note 4 that I recently unlocked and I am using it for Cricket Wireless. I see there is a software update that says OS upgrade - 5.1.1 that is provided by T-Mobile, if I use this update will it brick my phone, or make it not able to work for cricket?
Btw, my phone is not rooted.
Thanks for the help!
My wife and I are wanting to switch to T-mobile and give them a try since we would be saving about $100 a month.
I have a Verizon Galaxy S on Verizon. I heard that the Verizon S7 is unlocked, but some of the bands for t-mobile are turned off.
So here are my questions.
1. Is there a way to get everything turned on to work fully on T-mobile?
2. Depending on what is done to get bands to work on Verizon S7 will T-mobile updates be installed to the phone?
3. If the phone is flashed would that require manual updates as long as I have the phone?
4. Besides verizon apps would there be any things that would not work on the phone (Apps, features,...)?
5. I'm very techie, but have never flashed a phone. If this is necessary are there step by step directions to accomplish this?
6. Is there a way to go back to Verizon with the S7 if we switch to t-mobile and then decide to go back to Verizon?
7. Anything else...?
Thanks for your help!

All of the US S7's are the exact same hardware. You can use Odin and flash the T Mobile firmware and essentially have a T Mobile S7. If you want to go back to Verizon you could the reflash the Verizon firmware. You can search and get instructions on how to use Odin and use updato.com to get firmware. The T Mobile version is SM-G930T and Verizon is SM-G930V when searching for the Firmware.
I have the Tab A 8.4" At&t variant but no LTE service on it. It came with stock Android 9 and Android 11 is out for it, but since I have no service, I can't trigger the update OTA. Anyone know if there is an Official Stock Rom for it that I can flash?
So I have At&t Unlimited Elite and I tried this just for fun. I took my SIM out of my phone and put it into the tablet. Well it has service from At&t but can't trigger the update, still keeps saying already up to date on Android 9.
