Hello guys.
It's been 2 months since samsung started rolling out MM update for SGS6E+, and most of them (no carrier locked) already received it.
I have G928I, not locked, not branded, bought in official Samsung store in Singapore, but still no sign of MM.
Is it normal for phones in this region to receive update months after others do?

Well the thing is, i still want to be able to use features such as Deep Sleep and Knox.
Will it trip my knox kounter, or will the "firmware swap" work just as normal update?

What about csc? It remains as it was in original rom, right? Then OTA wont work, yes?
Up for ota question.
Cant you go back another rom if security version is lower?
And when you go back, will ota work?
if you intall another ROM the phone will rssult having the original CSC and the new one so OTA won't work.
to have the new CSC stick, you need to hard reset afte flashing, i read somewhere

There you will see Android 6.0.1. This download and unpack.
Back up your data and use Odin Flashing.
Device setup and updates.
Update Download and install.
Have fun with it
It could be that the update on Android 7.0 is no longer available since Samsung has stopped the roll-out because of too many bugs.
Whether this message is something I can not confirm. I got the update today. Please tell me if you got the update this way.
Thank you!!

I guess that this does wipe data ?

If you download this firmware, you have to flash this by Odin. If you flashst them all your data will be lost. So before everything save and then flash.

According to a few websites, the official update was stopped because of bugs again. Wait a bit and update the OTA again. Actually, this should work. If it does not go with you Samsung has stopped the update again.
The update is about 1.2 GB, and, especially in China, ran into some bugs initially, and was reportedly pulled before being re-released today. As to when will it hit the non-Exynos versions sold on US carriers, remains to be seen, but the wait shouldn't be long now that the beta testing phase is done and dusted. So ???
Some quick questions please..
1. What does BTU mean?
2. Will i be able to install this on 935fd without any probs?
can any one help me....I am from italy using s7 edge with model (SM-G935F )......if I flashed BTU Firmware from UK will void warrenty
China got the nougat update but Hong Kong yet to get the update what's the difference between this two.
Same for Luxemburg ?
yea samsung like to split different country for updates, look at the 935 variant update in Europe...

That's a good one.
Though it is irrelevant for Samsung's update policy the Mainland edition need to comply with Mainland restrictions and you won't find anything Google related in the software but a lot of other crap.
If you don't want to wait download a nougat rom for Snapdragon of your choice and use the HOME_CSC of the latest rom for your area though I would say it cannot be much longer until you get the update as well.

I'm in the same boat; have a HongKong S7 edge 128 with Snapdragon.
Can you confirm that it is ok to use ODIN withNougat 7.0 from another country for BL,AP and CP and use the HOME_CSC from HongKong fron december that was on 6.0.1 Marshmallow? I'm speaking about official firmwares on a non-rooted phone and do not want to trigger Knox

Just wait for this month end mostly Will get it.
Knox won't be triggered in any case.
I did not try out this specific combination but never had a problem flashing Nougat (beta) BTU WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT USE SINCE IT IS FOR EXYNOS with various Marshmallow HOME_CSC.
For safety's sake make a backup first.
just use u.s. version and apply hk csc and you get the same thing if you remove carrier bloatware.
Thank you all. I will see how my patience meter does...Might try and will be careful to use a Snapdragon version.
On a side note if you use a mixed set of firmware files you won't receive OTA updates. It would be recommended to flash the complete set of the Hong Kong Nougat version (again with HOME_CSC) afterwards once released.

Actually all localized services are the difference. I'm not sure of course but this is the only reason I can think about.
Waiting for HK update as well, while friends having Chinese version got update.
If we're lucky we'll get Android 7 before Android 8 comes out, fingers crossed

Your original CSC ought to be XSG(UAE). Nevertheless, since you've flashed the SLK firmware, there is no need of worry. By the way, you may not be getting new update since the firmware might be already latest, as last update to Sri Lankan firmware arrived way back in January. Just see the attachment.

You'll get updates, provided Samsung releases a new one in the UAE region. Which I think won't probably happen as Galaxy J5's two year support period is nearly over.
Nevertheless, I'd recommend you to change the CSC to INS(INDIA) by dialing *#272*imei 1# on your phone dialer and then choosing INS as the Sales code. Keep in mind that by doing so your device'll reboot and wipe all the datas.
As far as I know, J500F used to get more frequent updates in India than any other country.
Tnx.
Hi
Which android version do you have?
J5 is not getting many updates. After the 6.0.1 update there may not be anymore.
Plus if your phone is not official then it wont get any more updates.
Got this S8 from a friend of mine. The phone itself is all original and isn't rooted. Yet I'm not receiving any OTA released to this day. The one that's currently installed is of May 2017 (that's when the phone came out last year). Tried checking if it was rooted or is the knox tripped but it wasn't. Phone is all stock. According to Sammobile, the latest update for this CSC came out on December 2nd 2018. But I haven't received even a single update yet. Please guide how to receive OTA updates. Thanks.
Model: G950FD
You can try to flash with odin the most recent update of your CSC and see if something changes. This won't trip the Knox or void your warranty, so you should be good to go.

Nah, flashing a Samsung firmware through Odin is fine as long as you do it correctly. I just did it to debrand my S8 from WIN (Wind carrier in italy) to ITV (Italy unbranded CSC). You just need to do the steps correctly and you should be fine. If you want some help on how to do it, I'm in.
