Hi, I have a Verizon note 3 running Lollipop OF1, rooted, and I want to install jasmine rom. I'm having a hard time finding information that is written in a way I could understand... So my main 2 questions are: how do I install it (jasmine rom) and, will it delete my data if I do?
Thanks.
-Nick
Yes it will delete your data for you need to wipe before installation. Do you have Flashfire app installed?

Yes, I do
Ok download jasmine 6.1 if you haven't already. Start flashfire
Grant permission to run
Press the + button bottom right
Tap flash zip
Chose jasmine zip file(usually in download directory)
Hit checkmark top right
Don't hit flash yet. First
Hit + again and choose wipe.
Make sure top 3 are checked
Hit checkmark top right
Then hit flash..phone go black.
Flashfire will prepare phone for zip. Beautiful writing will scroll past ..black and then you will see it flash jasmine. Then it should reboot and hopefully you will see 4 icons across screen and will be there so long you will think your in a bootloop. .wait.
after a while it will go into setup screen

Jasmine 6.1
How long do you wait? I have done this well over 18 times and all it does is go to the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 logo with the "unlocked" lock and stays there. I've waited for an hour to 45 minutes and never a thing. I always have to re-install OF1 wait a day for it to settle then er-root..... always.

When you set flashfire up make sure the last step is to flash the rom. You have to long press on the steps to move them around. Otherwise you may be installing the rom and then wiping it away.

Mike. It looks fine. We can unlock our phones now. So I suggest you unlock your phone so you can put a recovery on it..then you can install jasmine through recovery after you've backed up your stock. And if you still have issues you can just restore backup.. have you seen the threads about this?

Un-lock.........
I saw two different methods and I tried one but it did not work and the video of the other seemed very cumbersome plus the guy in the video keeps saying Verizon Note 3 but his phone appears to be another version, a N9005 not a N900V. His video is the one I use for trying the Jasmine 6.1 install also.
Send me a good link for the unlock if you could with good instructions. Now I have to re-load OF1 and wait for it to settle then try to re-root again.
Thanks,
GoNavyMike

No reason to settle in. Just root. Did you do it twice the adb instructions. Does not take the first time

Jasmine..........
What do you mean by "twice the ADB instructions"? Plus I ALWAYS have to let it settle or it will not take the re-root.
I use to never have a problem rooting or flashing Roms, that was until LL. Not to mention that Titanium Backup is lousy now with LL. It constantly says insufficient space even after I deleted everything off my SD card. My SD card is a 64 Gb so I know I have plenty of space.
Since we're not getting MM, maybe I'll just wait for an exploit on it for my Note 3. I just don't know.

Airplane mode.......
I use airplane mode because where I live I have very lousy reception and it drains my battery fast trying to connect, so I use my wifi a lot at home. I will try regular and see how it works. I re-odined OF1 yesterday and today I re-rooted after I let it settle over night. I then used the .apk to unlock and all is fine it seems, so I will probably try to put either Jasmine or some other Rom on it tomorrow. It seems to always work better if I wait until the next day. I don't know why, but it does. What's the best custom Rom available now for a rooted unlocked Verizon Note 3?

No you really should ..download flashify from google .install it and grant it permission when you open it.. hit recovery. Top twrp install reboot..your recovery will start and you can chose to back up . I would call it stock rooted..to change name within backup click on top where it says auto generated and type whatever you want..then after its done hit home on bottom middle..then you can reboot system. Your all set for jasmine or whatever. It will only go into recovery with button sequence
Have you used a recovery before?

seedrom193 fixed his guide now so I deleted this as I promised.
I leave the thread still existing for now. There might be some usefull info for someone to find.

First file still missing, and supersu wont be seen in app-drawer unless you download it from play as well.
Every app who wants su will just hang unless you do that because you cant grant or deny access.
I made total unroot today to figure this out, and that was what I came up with. Everything else failed.
About pictures - You can upload them directly to xda. No need to use another host.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong but when I rebooted the phone in 'download mode' it's stuck, saying "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!". What do I do now? I tried running Odin3 but it just said successful but I'm not sure if anything happened.
Update: I noticed that Odin doesn't recognize my drive so I guess it's just stuck in that 'download mode' and I think I know why. I read that the IMEI needs to be recognized and while this was probably not a smart move I followed this guide to root the phone before I put in my SIM card because I have to break it loose and after that I can't use it in my old phone. Question is, what the hell do I do now? Since it says I can't reboot it and I can't use Odin it's a bit of a dilemma.
Update 2: Nevermind, I had forgotten to update USB drivers and then reboot. Question, is it possible to continue without TriangleAway? They warned about potential bricking the phone and I'm not planning on flashing any ROMs at the moment.

Yes but I don't want the risk of bricking the phone. Assuming I don't get a power outage during activation with TriangleAway there's minimal chance that something gets screwed up?

I flashed it with CWM then rooted according to the guide, I don't think I know the difference between firmware or recovery.
Anyway, I haven't booted into download mode again to see as last time I could restart the phone so what do I need to do once I'm there to reboot again to normal mode in case I only want to see if the triangle is there?

Settings > security > reactivation lock > uncheck it. (for future reference)
Reactivation Lock is a security feature implemented that if you have on and you lose/have your phone stolen it is tied to your Samsung account. If someone tries to flash a new ROM/Reset it, they cannot as it will require your Samsung account info to get past the setup screen.

Do T-Mobile offer a different method of locating a device? Like Lookout or something? I know one of the US carriers do - it's possible the firmware has been adjusted to reflect this due to any deal the carrier may have.

EDIT: Post a pic of your device in download mode if you can also!
I wouldn't worry too much about the S T R A P number versions currently, I think best thing to do is wipe the device, reflash your stock and start again with the CF-AutoRoot that was posted in the thread. It's possible something just may have corupted on you somewhere along the line.

ok, here is what I did:
1: install firmware. it reboots...then shows the android ..( he turns blue), then restarts ....phone works fine.
2: install the cf-root from above link and it installs fine, but then on reboot it gets stuck in "Seanandroid enforcing (something like that) and just keeps rebooting like it wants to go into recovery, but it never does...just bootloops.
3: I read in CF forum to turn off..pull battery and try again...same thing.
Do I need to load a recovery file?..am I missing a step or doing it out of order perhaps?
It's possible that the cf file you are using isn't compatible with the N900T - to be 100% certain you'd have to go over to the T-Mobile Note 3 forum on here and have a look through their cf auto root thread to be sure one way or another. It's puzzled me especially since the method you're using seems correct.

Good evening guys , well I have a Galaxy s4 ( GT- I9515L ) .He hung from nothing and when I restart it, came into infinite lopping , I tried to access the recovery order it, but when I try ..he hangs in the message recovery booting and sometimes it restarts again. I've tried several ways to resurrect it , how to install other rom's and even install TWRP recovery , but it remains the same thing not out of it and is caught on the home screen . It works only download mode. Wanted a help to my case because I'm researching for a week and not find answers .. only people in the same situation as me. Thank you very much in advance!!

I've reached a dead end, maybe you'll have a better luck. My phone is dead, it will not even charge my battery. Dead, nada, new phone i guess.
I assume you tried stock ROMs, right?
it happened with me also, so here is the solution
1. remove ur battery and wait for 5 min.

Charge the battery using another phone and then enter download mode.
Then download a custom ROM on your PC and using the adb sideload function push the ROM to your device.

Can ANYONE please port something to be used with the R4 Variant??? There are hundreds of users who would REALLY appreciate someone porting something for all of us to use..as of right now, there are NO choices for us...

Can't you guys run whatever you basically want on sprint kernels? Usc and sprint are so close its sick...i used to have luck with sprint stuff all the time when i had tmo...
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
I think you would have to do some editing and deleting but ya... I have usc and i can run most thing that is on the note 5 sprint... The only problem i had was. i cant seem to send picture messaging form sprint roms... I did get it to work one time but it was by luck.....im working on porting ux but i cant seem to get past this data issue that everybody is having problems with...im running out of time becasue the note 7 will be here soon.
i have tried a couple Sprint ones, and it gives me a reboot issue...sometimes it will make it 5 seconds, then reboot, other times it makes it 10 seconds'
I would recommend also rooting your stock usc kernel then backing up the rooted boot.img and reflashing it then latest supersu zip after installing any sprint rom...that way BL,CP, and kernel all match up and the rom is the only difference...

I was also thinking this, because i cannot get past phone set up in ANY builds i flash...maybe also the modem...
I have a twrp backup on my phone, i made AFTER i did the rooting, and SU...what way would you recommend extracting and reflashing from it?
im wondering if i can pull out MY boot.img and add it to a sprint rom before i flash it...hmm
Just flash the actual img file in twrp

From a twrp backup I'd use nandroid manager (from playstore) and it'll allow you to pull whatever you want from a twrp backup...

NOPE..the answer it seems was much easier... I went in with twrp and made a backup of just my boot.img and my modem, and after i flashed the rom, before rebooting, i flashed that backup...seems to be working...ill let you all know
still no luck..trying again with just the boot.img

When twrp does a backup, i chose JUST boot.. Then i flashed MOAR and waited for it to boot.. got past the wifi setup to where it says it is seeting up phone for first time use.. this is where i always had problems.. so i waited there until it did a reboot, then button combo into recovery and then restored, using the backup with JUST the boot.img....and....
worked!!!!!!

Yup exactly! You can definitely do it like that, or you can extract the boot.img and flash that alone, either way...and if during this you ever boot loop at Sammy screenthen flash supersu zip nicely done!

I can send you an edit ver of Moar 4.1 that works with usc ..just flash alway. 4g and everything works. If you are into pic message. Just download Google messaging . It should work just an FYI battery drain a lot.. working on it but very nice rom and I take no credit for this becasue I did not build this..

was trying MOAR Toasted..i got it to boot and got thru setup, but no matter what i did, NO signal.. I also live in an area where theres NO sprint signal, but USC works perfect everywhere...weird huh? Please send me the link, would be a huge thanks on my end
i think i found the issue!!! I backed up my modem and efs in twrp... Flashed the rom, and after, flashed a kernel i know works with the R4, and then went and restored my modem and efs...then, first boot...fired up with signal!!
My girlfriend got an auto update from T-Mobile on her note 7 and it limited her phone to only charge up to 60%. So I found the stock firmware for the previous version and used Odin to flash it over. I also used package disabler pro to prevent future updates. I will link a download to all files from my Google drive as they took wayyy too long to download off of the original site. It will include, the stock firmware (there's 5 parts) Odin (latest version) and package disabler pro. Hopefully anybody reading this is familiar with Odin but if not please ask any questions I'm sure either I or someone else on here can answer them.

UPDATE!!!!
Package disabler pro stopped working for me but after about 2 hours of searching i found a replacement app. The link is below!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0c6ZaGr79eTUGRFWWdOMVRSODQ/view?usp=drivesdk
It allowed me to disable all of the update packages
can anyone confirm this while i wait for files to download
i was wondering the same thing and what order to do them in I don't see why it shouldn't work honestly i just haven't used oden in forever and don't want to screw it up lol
It worked fine on her phone you just have to use the app I provided to disable a few packages to stop auto updates and forced updates. I'll upload a screenshot of which ones to disable

You'd flash all 5 of the files at once. The slots on the right in Odin are labeled (for example) ap; you'd select the file I uploaded that starts with ap same with bl, csc etc.
For some reason it won't let me post a screenshot but the packages you'll want to disable are the 2 that say Software Update and one that says UrgentFWUpdateTSP
files are done downloading, ill update this post after im done trying this method
Edit: I can confirm this method works, thanks for figuring this out, also got the green battery icon back "note" the odin file OP included does not include a ini file so it does not open, i just downloaded a different one odin v3.11.1

The only thing I got working was flashing the PI4, and updating SamPay to 2.4.02. I can't get PGC to flash. That's the one we need, it's pre-recall.

The csc tmb file will be the one you'll want to use under the csc slot in odin
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-firmware-on-samsung-galaxy-devices
Above is a guide to using odin the csc tmb file is the one youll want to use in the csc tab on odin. It will factory reset the phone so if theres anything important on it make sure you back it up on your computer or sd card.
Also i have the note 7 that was available after the recall so im not sure if this will work for the original version of the phone. I can try to find the files for the original version when i get off work lol

Thanks, I don't think it will work, for now I'll just be happy with PI4 and able to fully charge it. They must have done something to the bootloader so as not to flash, which makes sense because they don't want you to charge above 60% and they want the phone back...I never had this problem flashing my S5....or S4....[emoji36]
