Are there any other disadvantages of running a phone with "userdebug", maybe additional services that drain the battery? But I guess those just come on after turning the "developer options" on.

no disadvantages at all. Developer options are just initally deactivated since Multi-Window is a bit buggy. It doesn't drain battery at all

Using root explorer go into system/app and copy setting app to SD.
Now take out the setting.apk from the zip provided above and paste it in app and change permission to rw-r-r and reboot your phone.
If it did not work, replace your original apk in same way
restarted, and it works.

Is there any app or root tweak that will let me change the background for S-View Cover?
I'm sure there are images I can swap out in a root folder, but I have no idea which one. . . .
+1 for this feature.
Should be under settings... changes the color not background though.

Yeah, I saw that. But I'm looking specifically for a tweak or image location that will allow me to put anything I want in it. Like a family photo, custom photo, etc.
I had the G2 for a few days and was able to do that with built in settings, but this one is different.

ditto.
hello !
yes you can !
Extract the framework-res.apk of your custom rom, open with winrar v5, change or replace with your mainbg_pattern_mainarea.png on directory : res/drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi .
On note 3, copy on your sdcard, and with root explorer replace this on system/Framework (reboot is automatic when you change the .apk) enjoy!
Background
Think I'm on to something!
I think I might have found a way. I deodexed a couple of files and decompiled them. Found some code that sets the Alpha to 10% on the background image of the s_view Cover. Going to try setting alpha to transparent. Once I figure out how re odex them I'll try it out and post my results. Probably gonna have a snow day tomorrow so I'll be working on it!

Hello i ask you something how did you do this image clearly ?
KIDS MODE
Do you have kids that love to play with your tablet? Yeah, me too!
Now you can let them play without worrying about what they are going to delete or simply mess up.
Kids Mode allows parents to control which apps and media are available and time limits for each day.
Once installed, Kids Mode can be accessed by using the icon found in the app drawer.
This mod comes with a kids camera, media viewer, and sound recorder as well as the kids launcher and parental controls. You can download more apps in the included Kids Store or allow access to any downloaded app from the Play Store.
Flash the zip in recovery. For Stock Touchwiz KitKat based roms only.

v2 - Fixed Drawing App
Kids Mode Update v2
V2 has been uploaded.
The Drawing app has been fixed.
If you already have the Kids Mode add-on installed, you can just flash the zip attached to this post instead of re-downloading the entire add-on again. Flash in recovery, no wipe needed.
It appears to have installed just fine (in application manager), but I have no shortcut. I do have stock kitkat.
Any tips on adding the shortcut?
Thank you for sharing this.

You are more than welcome to try, but this is based on 4.4.2 and much of what is required is baked into the touchwiz framework, so it likely will not work with 4.4.4.

Hi all. this is my first thread.. and i don't know whether i am posting it in right place or not, coming to my concern,
Miracasting was working perfectly when i was on marshmallow. but since i have updated to nougat i am not able to use it anymore. Right now i am on this custom rom 'http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/development/rom-debloated-prerooted-deoxeded-t3372600 nougat also disabled the option for 'enable wireless display' however after some research i edited 'build.prop' and added this 'persist.debug.wfd.enable=1' to the last line which restored the option to enable the wireless display, now my problem is my nexus 6p disconnects automatically with in 2-3 secs, even before reflecting the screen. Any solution ??

You would probably need to flash a custom ROM that includes that feature. I don't think One Plus has any plans to add that feature to OOS.

You need to create a folder on your SD card (see attached image) within to main Tasker folder.
Ensure the file format is .xml then import via the Tasker menu
Easy as that.

It may stop working because Google is removing accessibly settings for uses other than disability.
I use the app Silence! Do not disturb premium.
Works really well.
