soft bricked samsung galaxy grand prime sm-g530a after rooting - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my samsung galaxy grand prime SM-G530A, rebooted and soft bricked my phone. It says "secure fail:kernel". Not sure where to go from here. I dont have access to a computer to use Odin. I can access Android system recovery <3e> LMY48B.G530AUCU4AO17. Tried wiping data/factory reset and wipe cache partition, comes up as E: unknown volume for path [/sbfs ]
E: unknown volume "/sbfs". I do have a galaxy tab 2.0

I root my phone and have the same problem. Did you find any soulution to fix that problem?

not yet
Supposedly the SM-G530AZ cricket version has the same firmware. No luck yet, but that's with downloading files off of a windows phone and transferring them to the sd card. Basically from everything I've read so far, we forgot to flash the stock rom and kernel with flashify before rebooting the phone. I'm still trying though.

Hey guys if you do end up with Cricket software be careful as you will lose cellular data.

Solution(but you still need a computer)

[Q] is my galaxy s4 soft bricked or hard bricked? can I fix it? help please

so I tried to install a custom "rom negalite-s4-r41" I installed it all fine, when I was at boot screen it keeps repeating boot screen. I tried to wipe data/cache. It didn't do anything. it says my sd card is not mounted and when I try to mount it, it just says error. I can boot into download and I plan to try to install a stock non rooted everything with odin. I can boot into system recovery, but the ittle droid falls over with the red exclamation point. I can choose the follow options "Reboot system, Apply update from ADB, apply update from external storage, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, apply update from cache" I have tried reboot system just repeats reboot like I said, I have no clue what ADB is, apply update from external storage says it fails to mount sd, I have wiped data/factory reset, I did do the cache partition, my update from cache is all empty. Please help, I'm sitting in panera bread off their wifi because i have no internet at my house, this really sucks.

[S5 SM-G900F] Multiple Fatality: Soft Brick, No Baseband, Encryption Failed

Custom TW ROM Lollipop Galaxy S5 SM-G900F: multiple high-impact issues
In last 24hrs I managed to get away from several hard issues, so, I thought it might be good idea to share and start separate thread, as I found none to cover all that in the same time. It all started with no baseband - No SIM card error. For the starters no separate ODIN baseband flash turned out to help. One thing leading to another and I managed to soft brick the device. Trying this and that, I was finally struck with: Encryption failed, unable to complete encryption, reset phone to factory settings.
ODIN: reflash Stock: no ROM from SamFirmware for my country and carrier managed to boot up device, although full flash was successful. Turning on 'Nand Erase All' and 'Phone Bootloader Update' haven't helped, either.
ODIN: reflash PIT: no PIT file flashing has solved the problem
TWRP Recovery: Data/factory reset: no go
TWRP Recovery: /data, /system, /cache: no go - but there was this message that /data cannot be mounted and no crypto data can be found.
TWRP Recovery: Flash CyanogenMod: Success! - it is great ROM indeed, but there is no good camera for AOSP, so let's move on.
TWRP Recovery: Flash Custom TW ROM: Struck with looped encryption failed error.
TWRP Recovery: Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Repair or Change File System: /data was somehow, somewhere formatted as f2fs - changed it to ext4. Flash TW ROM, wait couple of minutes: SUCCESS!. (TWRP 3.0.1.0)
Hey there
Hello, i have the same "encryption failed" error on my s5. It has been a paper weight for a month now.
It started a few days after i updated to lollypop. I have never tried to mod the phone in the slightest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can't root phone, verification failed everytime

Every time I try to root my phone weather through cf auto root or the method here I get the screen "Verification failed. Unable to restart your device. The integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data." Even after I press reset it still comes back to that screen. Resetting through TWRP always fails as it says can't mount /data. The only way I can fix this is by doing an emergency firmware recovery through smart switch pc. I had my phone previously rooted with cf auto root then I flashed back to stock. Now I'm trying to root again and it just doesn't seem to work. I'm using all the right files for my device and following the steps correctly.
I'd appreciate any advice.

Yeah, in twrp remember to format data. Not the regular wipe data but the option that says format, you will need to type yes when you select it.

if you experience like this(verification failed) and you dont want to lose your date. just hold and press power+up+home, this will jump to recovery mode, and if you see installing update and got error, just press again power+up+home till you reach the recovery option. after that just wipe cache partition. the verification failed will disappear and youll have the normal system again. i experienced the same issue but i manage to fixed it after doing the rooting twice. i didnt reset my device. you dont need the emergency firmware repair. just wipe the cache partition.

Are you sure you're following the steps correctly? Try some of these tips:
After flashing TWRP, instead of switching volume buttons on the fly (requires dexterity and timing! ), hold the VOLUME DOWN and POWER buttons until the phone turns off. You can then proceed to recovery by holding VOLUME UP + HOME + POWER.
Are you using the latest TWRP for your S7 Edge? Some older versions of TWRP have problems mounting folders and flashing ZIPs.
Did you update to the latest firmware before attempting root? Later Android versions become very finicky about device security, essentially locking you out of your phone.
Note that once your device detects that it has been tampered with, you won't be able to update. Download your stock firmware from some place like SamMobile and flash all the required tar.md5 archives through Odin (keep in mind: HOME_CSC keeps your personal data, while CSC erases it). If that doesn't fix it, backup whatever you can through TWRP and factory reset.
Did you enable OEM Unlock? Once you can access your settings again, if it is on, you may want to tap it off, then back on again. Sometimes it gets buggy.
You did remember to flash something that disables dm-verity, right? You may want to try flashing the dm-verity and force encryption disabler ZIP first before truly rooting.
i am having the exact same issue but i tried wiping cache that didnt work so i dont know what to do
Please Help

I don't mean to necropost, but this is an important detail for anyone out there having trouble with these "verify failed" messages. I knew I was missing something b/c there is an advanced option with formatting options that is not the same as the format button on the main wipe page. This did the trick for me trying to get my SM-G9600 (Chinese Samsung Galaxy S9) up and running with TWRP + Stock Oreo 8.1.
Big ups, @Florad77!
When to format data in rooting process?

When do you format data? Before installing supersu or after?

the "advanced" tab in Odin is primarily used for the PIT file in the firmware zip package. It is not advised to flash the PIT unless necessary. Often times, the "verify failed" message means that your bootloader is still locked or youre flashing the wrong file. Just fwiw.

Yeah, and now my Galaxy Tab Active 2 (Android 9.0) , can't boot. Only the Welcome logo appears, and resetting it indefinitely.

Data partition corrupted

I have a SM-G935FD which I rooted using Wondershare Tunes Go. It rooted successfully and I installed TWRP via Odin. But afterwards i noticed than when ever I tried to wipe the cache it failed giving a write error.
I decided to reinstall the original firmware and downloaded it from Sammobile and flashed via Odin. Now i can't boot the phone as it gives an error saying data partition is corrupted and I need to reset the phone to factory settings and there is a reset button at the bottom of the screen. when i press that it reboots, goes to TWRP but gives a write error and again comes to the same Data partition error screen.
I can reboot to download mode.
I am a noob so please help me restore the phone if possible.
