Data Usage crash - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! Every time I press 'Data Usage' on Settings or 'More settings' in Quick Toggles, Settings crashes. I tried wiping data an cache on Settings and also wiped cache from recovery. I'm stock unrooted on the latest April security patch. Is this related to my carrier? What should I do? Thanks in advance.

Keyboard prediction and spell correction not working

My word prediction are broken. The only thing that every appears are words I've previously typed and punctuation. Under samsung keyboard settings Predictive text is on, and auto complete and spell correction are both checked under the Predictive Text settings. Does anyone know a fix? I'm rooted using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756885 with the STOCK rooted, not stripped version. Anyone know of a fix or is experiencing a similar issue? Is it not able to connect with the spell check server because of root?

I'm having the same issue. I'm on the GS3 SCH-i535 and had initially flashed the stripped version. I did attempt to flash the deodexed stock version which also experienced the same autocorrect/spellcheck symptoms. Additionally, my T9Keyboard draws the lines but does not generate input.
Each time I have restored, or flashed a new ROM, I wipe the cache, wipe the dalvik cache, and fix permissions.
I also installed ROM manager and used that to re-flash CWM. After I flashed CWM from ROM manager I am unable to mount the external SD card which is mounted in /mnt/extSdCard. When I select Advanced -> wipe dalvik cache on the yes screen I receive an error "E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]", however, when I reboot I receive a screen: "Android is upgrading X of 61" leading me to believe that the dalvik cache has been wiped.
Interestingly, when I create a backup in CWM it defaults to a date of 1970-01-03.<Current Time>, if I start the backup from ROM manager it defaults to the current date/time.
I did remove my SD card and perform a factory reset (on the stripped version), then wiped cache, dalvik cache, and fixed permissions, when the phone boots, messaging just crashes. attempting to open messaging, the app starts to open, hangs for a few seconds, and then crashes presenting the error "Unfortunately, messaging has crashed". Restoring from backup fixes the crashing messaging. Odd that a factory reset causes messaging to crash.

Did some digging and found mention of these issues here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28682782#post28682782 (Post number 421...) Seems the "root66" rom fixes the issue?

Ok, I did flash the root66 ROM and it does fix the dictionary problem, but you'll have to install root manager and strip out the bloat manually (unless someone has a better recommendation)

[Q] Why when upgrade CM11 loss settings??

Hi, every updating to a new nightly I lose the settings icons and widgets on the screens.
Even now with the introduction of Trebuchet, what happens??
To update I use options in Info in Settings in my Nexus 4...
Please help me :crying:
SORRRY I POSTED IN WRONG PLACE... I CAN'T MOVE IN QUESTION
Before every update just take backup of Apps data u need, than update, restore those...
You're installing via a custom recovery? Are you wiping data, cache, etc. before updating?
Tahnks, I update via settings - info device - update Cyanogenmod. I've installed Clockwork recovery touch, and usually not wipe data cache before.
I lose settings icons and widgets on the desktop, number pages ETCC ..
Download the latest cm11 to your phone and flash via twrp.

Go into Settings -> Applications, choose Contacts and clear data. You may need to force stop first and restart afterward.

Sounds to me like you didn't wipe properly when flashing the ROM. You need to wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache before flashing, is that what you did?
Usually when you update the same rom it's better to dirty flash no? i cant wipe all my data everytime i want to update the rom, though i might go back to stock, i
what's the best way to backup apps within the phone, and should i go deodex or Oden

My mistake, I didn't realise you were just updating the same ROM. Yes, usually you can just dirty flash, but the way something is implemented may have changed in the latest update, causing the issues you're having now. The solution is pretty simple though: backup your user apps with Titanium Backup, boot into TWRP and perform a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik cache), flash ROM + gapps, boot into ROM and set up your settings, restore your user apps with Titanium Backup.
Thanks a lot!
I had this same issue after the March security updates. Was given this and it fixed my issues completely! It manually runs the setup wizard. Not sure if it will fix it or not, but worth a shot.

6t Android 10 gps issue / not working

Hi all,
after flashing A10 stable (coming from 9.0.17) two days ago, I just noticed, that my GPS is not working properly.
Besides that everything else seems to be working fine.
I flashed full update via OTA installer and then flashed a magisk boot image.
Location data is switched on.
Opening e.g. google maps now does not seem to trigger the gps symbol on the status bar.
Also its not getting any location update.
Same appears for other apps.
I cleared cache via stock recovery and also cleared cache of google maps, location services, google play services and fuse location separatly, after some research.
Also I restarted the phone.
That did not do the trick.
Is anybody else experiencing this issue or might give some support?
Thanks and BR,
Vincent
Experiencing the same. Been reading many on other Oneplus and Pixels phones experiencing the same after A10. What I don't understand why hasn't this issue been picked up more aggressively by the community/company yet..
What works for me intermittently is to disable and re-enable Maps and it will pick up the current location. Otherwise it'll continue to think I'm on the previous one, and something interesting even if I move, it'll continue to hold the previous location as the center point and map the changes around that.. Funny!
I think updating to A10 really requires a full reset.
Try installing Global Optimized GPS File Replacer module, really helped a lot getting the GPS to work much much better
Hi any solution yet
Clean install A10 to solve the issues
Same issue here. Just started noticing it today. Been on stable since day 1.
How will a clean install solve the issue?
And how do I clean install when I'm rooted with stock recovery?

And what about my root? I would have to use adb from pc again?
I'm not having any issues with GPS.

You have to flash the patched img on fastboot to obtain root...
So not such a big deal...
Im having this issue too, noticed today when tried to navigate via maps, the gps test app works properly but gps apps doesn't.
any solution? Tried the cache reset, location cache clearing without any success.
I think I managed to find a workaround which doesn't involve a factory reset:
Settings -> System -> Reset options -> Reset app preferences (this doesn't affect apps data)
Settings -> Apps & notifications -> See all XXX apps -> (3 dots in the upper right corner) -> Show system -> Clear storage and cache of the following apps:
Google Maps
Google Play services
Google Services Framework
LocationServices
Phone Services
Fused Location
Google Location History
OPMmsLocation
I wiped Dalvik cache in TWRP.
I'm not sure all steps are necessary but resetting apps preferences is the key one I think. It's going to reset the permissions of all apps but it's a good alternative to reinstall everything from scratch. The issue of the GPS fix in Google Maps hasn't come back for me since.
