[Q] A little help needed

you'll have to forgive if this is posted elsewhere but i haven't found it if it is, I'm new to this scene as i used to be used to the old apple stuff where i was quite happy jailbreaking etc. but now i have a nexus s and i'm quite happy with it and i've updated it to 2.3.3 no problems,
but now i'm a little confused/unsure. I am happy with the stock firmware but i'd like diffrent themes having looked around i see that to install them i need to install the CM7 rom but I've seen various roms some that need rooting and some that seem not to.
I've also seen a 2.3.3 rom thats a stock deodexed rom and a deodexed-voodoo-root rom. But whats the diffrence and which do i need etc.
sorry to sound like a complete idiot but this is all new to me and i'm trying to learn and get the best out of my phone, all advice is welcome
First off, all 3rd party ROMs will require root to "flash" (the android term for installing). You'll find a lot of information about all the ROMs, themes and kernels currently available for the NS here but the short answer to your question is that a deodexed rom is one which can be themed. If it has Voodoo, Netarchy, Trinity, or Honity listed what is being referred to is a custom kernel.
I'm also assuming you're not currently rooted and on that previous link you'll find a list of almost all of the rooting methods currently available (save for SuperBoot...I think I omitted that one by accident). Basically, all of the info you need is on that thread and if you have other questions I'm happy to help you but for now I think I've answered most everything.

Interesting Multi-boot ROMs ?

I have a modded stock TW and CM11 on multi-boot and would like suggestions of any really different and interesting additional ROMs to set up under multiboot.
The TW is my daily, and the CM11 is pretty good also, so the other one(s) could have some functions not working if they are unique and worth trying.
Thread closed as its basically a best ROM thread.
Why don't you go into the development forums, open some threads then download the ROM or ROM's you are interested in and try them?

[Q] What's your ROM of choice?

I just got my Note 3 and I'm wondering what ROMs I should give a spin.
I tend to like MIUI roms as I had on my note 1, but also paranoid android is really fast and unbloated, I was also wondering what ROMs conserve multiwindow and s-pen features, maybe only samsung based ROMs have those. So yeah, what ROMs do you guys deem worthy?
Try them and see for your self.
I'm on Alliance 4.3, great battery, super smooth, I'm not going to update KitKat anytime soon.
Some are on 4.4 KitKat, they can maybe say a few words.
Why is ROM development so stumped? I thought I'd have TONS of ROMs to choose from like on my Note 1

Most important is that the roms and kernels that are out there are all very good You have sammy based roms, AOKP/AOSP and CM11, what more do you want? Plus you have Xposed framework to modify what you want.
I'm with CEPi - I run Alliance, Lean kernel and Philz Touch recovery. As stated it is a 4.3 based ROM so you'd need to see what your phone is as stock. If you're on 4.3, keep in mind if you go KK (4.4) you will be unable to come back. Also if your 4.3 is vMJ7 or above, you WILL blow the Knox counter by rooting, Custom ROM'ing or custom recovery.
If you're on KK already then you are restricted to the KK ROM's - like CEPi I can't comment on them as I see no reason to install a new ROM when Alliance is fast, stable & great battery.
Used X-note, now testing FlexKat.
The entire Dev section consists of roms of someone's choice. Ofcourse, some people prefer a certain rom, some don't. At the end, it is entirely up to you to decide what you like, and this can only be achieved by trying them yourself.
If you need a starting point, most rom's can be classified into two categories, aosp-based and touchwiz-based. You can try one or two on either side to see which category your preference falls in, and then try out some other options in that category.
On that note, thread closed as we do not allow such type of threads here, since they often snowball into heated arguments over personal preference.

Stock ROM Suggestions - Please Read First

Alright, so I'm currently running the fully stock G900T from T-Mobile that's rooted with Magisk.
I need this phone, so stability is a must along with battery life and that pretty much means that a stock ROM is the best, from what I've seen on the forums anyways.
So my question is, is there a "best" de-doxed, unbloated, (rooted?) stock that's already on the forums for the KLTE series? If not, how would I go about "making" one for myself? Also, what would be considered the "best" kernel for the stock ROM?
What apps would be best to include for such a ROM?
I will try to add more information if the need arises or I feel like I should include more. However, any help or even questions for me would be gratefully appreciated.
EDIT 1: Whoops, I didn't realize I had posted in the wrong section till now. If a moderator could please move this to the correct section I'd be very grateful. Thank you!
I recommend Stock International ROM v5.0.
Stable, smooth, stock.
