Hey guys i hope i dont break a rule or smth posting this thread. So lemme explain the title
I own sony z5 like 3 months now... I had lg g3 and decided to move to a better phone...well lg g3 experience was pretty good except that it was heating.so i sold it to a good friend of mine and bought z5...before root and modifying system i had like 5hours ost.now after root and mods i get like 7 hours on my marsh os...well its good because i frozed messenger facebooj snapchat line and viber. Also i had some issues while taking pics some of them in the gallery was turning grey in part of the pics and thats so irritating for such a exp phone.phone is heating as well sometimes even when i browse...not that a superb phone at all camera lens are bad because they line up with the body and that makes it loving scratches....could anyone advice me about the s7 edge? Is it worth it to upgrade to that phone? Am lurking about this phone on youtube saw lot of videos about it and its pretty good as it seems. So what do u think s7 edge owners?
Ps sorry for the long and some pointless details but i wanted to be as clear as possible about my needs
In my opinion , if money is not a problem just do it. I think the S7 Edge is the best phone money can buy for now along with the 6S.

Exynos are amazing these days , i pitty those with Snapdragons 820
My sd820 averages 6-7 sot with everything on except aod, I have no complaints, but this phone is a nice upgrade compared to the z5 the 810 is prob the worst processor QC every came out with, the s7 runs nice and cool rarely gets warm, never hot, and the camera I have to say is the best mobile camera out right now, the auto focus and shutter is amazingly fast which was one of my gripes about Android cameras, if I were you and money wasn't an issue I would make the switch, the Sony phones while good just has no flair and I hate the position of the buttons lol

If you can get a good price for your z5 jump on board the s7 train, I never tried the z5 camera but I had the z4 and while MP is high i just never felt it took better pics than my iPhone, but the s7 most definitely takes better pics

But not....s7 seems to own better camera than even lg g5 on review videos
Agreed, the g5 camera is basically like the g4 except with a second lower resolution wide angle, even though my s7e has a Sony sensor on it, I think it's Samsung's software optimization of the hardware that makes it superior

How about night selfie mod.
And rear camera on low light conditions?
I had Sony Z5 international version. It is bad, the battery drain very quickly while using it and the phone gets hot. Also the camera is very slow compare to other major phone released in 2015.

Night selfie not sure never tired, rear camera low light the s7 is king! A lot of shots are even brighter than you see with your eyes, sometimes it can have a lot of noise but thats expected to get some light in a low light shot, I'm able to capture alot of my kids moments in low light when an iPhone wouldmt of even had a chance

This is not a trolling topic. This came from a casual Z3 user.
I pre-ordered the Z3 on Sony store and got it. The phone was great, screen was pleasant to look at, no lags ever happened, but there were too many cons that took over the pros imo:
- The battery was not that great, I've installed GSAM App since day one, and now the average screen-on time is only 5 hours, maximum is 6h30m. I've tried resetting the phone via Pc Companion... no luck. I mainly use the phone for Facebook, Web browser, taking pictures, and music, no heavy games.
- I've dropped it several times due its f*cking slippery glass panels. So far there's no crack but the aluminum sides are slightly damaged.
- It's so uncomfortable to hold. Sony made premium phones for sure, but it's not practical... the Z3 is just a beautiful metal slab but not really a phone. In my opinion, the curved back is much much more comfortable to hold in hands.
- Wifi range is horrible. I've tried putting the Z3 next to the LG G3 and Moto G, the Z3 lost signal frequently, the other 2 were fine.
- Glass back panel = fingerprint magnet.
- Finally, the most disappointed feature - Camera. I don;t know what the heck Sony did to their Z3, but the camera is just average to me. Plus it does not focus well while recording videos, even with normal macro shots; Superior Auto sucks; too tiny flash; a lof of Noise; a lot of disappointments.
- Not to mention that it fails so badly on cosmetic look. Huge gaps; unsymmetrical panels; bulging nylon corners. They are not a big deal for me, but compared to other phones in terms of cosmetic build, Sony has to work harder.

So if you want to change, what is the point of this thread?
My thoughts exactly
If you want even less screen time G3 is your phone. Congrats. I hope u will see thats a mistake I own both phones so..
Maybe you got a bad unit, mine has excellent signal I came from a G2 which I still love.
I remeber some HTC One Xs and Nexus 4s had an issue where the v shape pins on the casing weren't properly touching the pin on the motherboard causing very low WiFi signal. I had to use paper in between on my One X lol.
Anyway exchange it., if you are willing otherwise enjoy your new G3. But I and many here can attest that the Z3 gets excellent reception.
As @hzmenxd said, if you want much less screen on time, then go ahead for the G3. I used it for 3 months and nearly threw it out the window, battery life was horrible and lots of lag even after freezing and deleting apps and ROM improvements. Maximum screen on time I got was 4 hours and that with a 15 hour full charge, minimum brightness, conservative governor and other improvements. Just get a case for the Z3 and it'll fine.
OMG. If you are changing to G3 just for the casing form you have no idea what you are doing.I played with the G3 (the 2GB of ram version) and in terms of fluidity my old N4 beats him. Don't know what the hell LG did with the software but it sucks big time (lag, stutter, memory frees up by restarting the launcher and so on). Don't know about the 3GB version if it has the same problems. I almost got the G3 but I turned to the Z2 (Z3 to expensive in my country) and for 370 euro brand new with 2 year warranty it was a barging.
In conclusion it is your choice, but think twice.

No no, this makes no sense. Obviously, going to a phone with a much shorter rated SOT is the answer. Getting a $10 case to solve at least 3 of the listed problems is crazy.
You could have caught 4 of these 7 gripes in the store. If you invest a pile of money in a personal gadget, do you research. You don't have to understand benchmarks and all the techno babble to go and test the keyboard and the camera and see how it feels in the hand. Shiny dark surfaces collect fingerprints. That is not Sony's fault. I got the white one for this reason.
In regards to the build quality, you could just have a bad unit. Perhaps you should have swapped it right away. If you drop it because of the slippery back, put a case or a sticker on it.
No offence, but I think this is kinda your own fault.
5-6HR SOT on a stock ROM is amazing. You can't even get that on the OPO.
I had the G3 and the average is around 4HR SOT, and that's with both debloated stock and super tweaked AOSP.

My bad, I should have made myself more clear:- my point about the case was simply for the "slippery" feel of the glass and aluminium body. In terms of camera, simple solution is use Google's Camera and/or use Perfectly Clear to fix any noise in the pictures. The WiFi signal is fine on mine and never had any issues but can be boosted with root or an app called WiFi Optimizer I think. As @abhinav.tella said, it might just be a bad unit.
atleast hold on to it incase u hate the g3 for whatever reason?
I jumped from a g2 to the z3 since it was the latest in the market... Took a long while for root but it finally got there.. I'm really hating the factory rom and still waiting on cm/aosp to be available as a bug free alternative..
I dunno how Sony likes having all those variants of the z3.. And the only one we have here is the dual sim version which really lacks behind in development since it's not the international version used everywhere...
Anyways from my experience with lg I'm most probably getting a g4 as soon as it's available (which should be sometime around Q3)
For the meantime I'll keep quiet and use the z3 all thanks to its 3100 mAh of power

Oh right
Thanks guys for your honest opinions. I admit most of them were my faults. I think I'm gonna keep the Z3 to test it for some time before making a decision. But the SOT was really a rip off for such a hype on the Z3. I know the G3 has much less SOT for sure, that's a fact, but 5 hours on Z3 was just ridiculous. Everybody got at least 6 hours, but mine barely (or never) reached that level.

So, in your screenshot the Z3 was at 22hrs and it still had plenty of juice left? Are you not getting through a day? What exactly are you looking for with 8hrs of SOT if at the end of the day you have battery left over and will plug the phone in?
There are a lot of factors that play into battery life, two big ones are power hungry apps, and signal strength.
I was always using Xperias, I even learned how to theme and dev on it...
But then I decided I had enough of Sony and solde my few months old Z2 to buy Note 4...
Believe me mate...grass isn't greener at neighbour yard...it's a same grass with a same bugs
You'll have exactly the same issues, questions and doubts with any brand.
I do have to say that while the phone works pretty well, it is uncomfortable to hold and the glass on the back pisses me off more and more every day. I still like the phone though.
Sent from my D6616 using Tapatalk
One thing that I do agree with OP is that if you are not used to the flat back glass construction, then you are just not used to it. I have been using a lot of Sony phones, so the flat back doesn't really piss me off. Instead of "palming" the back, I "grip" it with my index finger and my ring finger, which makes it very normal to hold.
Users who are more used to the curved back of the g3, motox and motog will feel that the flat back is not as ergonomic, and they are not wrong. The G3 feels more comfortable in the hand than the Z3, but it's not like the Z3 is a massive spike ball that you can't hold it for even 5 minutes.
Regarding the battery life, yeah, if you are not satisfied with the Z3 battery, then you are not going to be satisfied with the G3 battery. This is not an opinion, it's a FACT. G3 has a higher pixel count for its screen with a smaller battery. using LTE on it and it will die within 8-10 hours of heavy usage.
I can offer you some advice for your Z3 if you want to improve the battery life:
1. If you are not in a LTE plan, then use 3G only, that will help the battery by a ton.
2. Some small games (Free games) are quite suspicious, as they use location data all the time when possible. I was surprised when a prolific game such as Ridiculous Fishing was using the location service on my z3 and used up a lot of battery during idle periods. Uninstalling it helped to increase the battery by a few hours.
3. Google Now - this son of a ***** is a big battery killer. Turns it off if you don't use it.
4. Location services - this son of a ***** too.
The lag on the LG G3 is mind blowing! Besides.. All the apps look like a cheap and crappy version of Sony app, especially the G3 album app haha , and that back power off/on button? God. Lol.. But yes, is a sexy phone.. Good luck
Nexus 6p user here. I was thinking about switching to op2 for a few reasons. I don't need a qhd screen and I'd like it a bit smaller. I don't use fingerprint sensor or NFC so that's good. Mainly want better battery life and was thinking op2 would do that because of screen pixels and smaller. Also I like the notification slider and it would have 64 GB compared to my 32 on 6p. Any opinions about this for you op2 users?

So far I haven't seen anyone with great battery life n the OnePlus two. I am currently running CM13 and usually end the day between 10-40% (yes, it varies that much). That is usually with average usage throughout the day. I would say that I usually end the day with just over 20% though. I usually get around 2-3 hours SOT. From what I've heard, the 6p gets a bit better than that, though I haven't personally used one, so I'll let you be the judge of that!

In my opinion, IF the OPT got better battery life than the 6p, it would be so slight that it wouldn't be worth giving up the amazing features of the 6p, though if you still want to switch, I'd be more than happy to trade you my OPT for your 6p!

What does better battery life mean? I think most of OPT users can go through the day without recharging, depending on usage obviously. Two days on modern smartphones, that is really rare, bordering with impossible.

That might be a first. Several OP2 owners are looking at the 6p.
IMHO, the OP2 is a decent - if underwhelming - mid-tier smartphone. The best parts are the price, screen, finger-print button, dual-SIMs and notification slider. The worst parts are the inconsistent OOS, customer service, and lack of NFC.
While I don't regret the purchase I'm not sure I'd buy another OP phone.

I actually switched from an OP2 to a 6P about 3 weeks ago and all I can say is battery life (for me at least) is MUCH better on the 6P with the same usage and the same apps installed obviously.
BUT I never used a MM rom on the OP2 so I don't know how battery life is on MM (although I doubt it would be as good as on the 6P).
Also, I just got tired of waiting for Oneplus to release official MM. It's a joke really if you ask me that we are already in the middle of March, devices like the 2 year old HTC One M8 already got MM about a month ago (with optimised Sense UI on top of it I might add) and Oneplus still releases updates based on LP.
In my personal opinion you would regret it if you got the OP2 over the excellent N6P.
Hope this helps a bit [emoji4]

Never had the Z2 but if I had the chance to change my old HTC One M8 right now for the OP2 I would never do it.
Considering the fact that the Z2 and M8 are of the same generation I would urge you to wait for something better than the OP2.
But it all depends on what you expect out of a phone. In my experience the OP2 had worse software (overall everyday use performance was on par between the two phones), much worse speakers and almost equal battery life with the M8.
Just my personal opinion of course
I get surprisingly good battery life from my OPT I agree, I only get 3 to 3.5 hours of screen on time but my standby time is amazing. I usually don't charge it overnight and I will only lose around 2% in the 6 plus hours it is off the charger. I switched from a nexus 6 that couldn't get me nearly through the day and I usually go from 6 am to 10 pm and have 30 to 35% left while getting a ton of email and taking a lot of calls...but I do hate the lack of development...I am using one of the 2 MM hydrogen ROMs available and it works and performs well but lacks many comfort things at the moment.
Development will pick up soon. MM till the end of this month, cyanogen crew working on their software... I think we can be optimistic.

I hope so too....I loved the oneplus one and I think a lot of it was the strength of its development community. It felt like a Nexus. I never would have thought that Samsung would be providing better support.
Battery is not so bad at all...

In my knowledge (based on what I have read that is) Samsung and LG have great cameras. S6 and Note 5 were great at that. If you can't afford the S7s then the previous generation of Sammies might be your best bet. The 6P though also is a very decent choice.
Now I'm not an expert as far as cameras go but that's my 2c [emoji4]

I got the op2 and I'm really liking it. I like the size and enjoying the way it feels in my hand. Battery life isn't as good as my Nexus 6pbut the alert slider is nice. Also like the capacitive buttons and the camera is great too!
The production is flawless. I really like it. Here were my concerns before it arrived:
1) It would be defective (antenna showing, dust under the camera lens, etc.: *It was perfect, no blemishes.
2) WiFi calling wouldn't work (I don't use it but others said it wasn't working at all on their Sprint phones). *I had to go thru the setup twice and the second time it worked fine.
3) The screen would look washed out. *It's bright and vibrant. I wonder if the store model wasn't a production model.
4) The fingerprint scanner would be too annoying to reach. *This complaint is valid. It sort of defeats the purpose having it on the back when it's on my desk all day.
5) Battery life. *Haven't had it long enough to verify how good it is.
6) Laggy. *Nope, it's blazing fast.
7) Regretting not getting the S7 or S7 Edge. *No regrets yet, I love the price point on the G5.
Hope this is helpful, feel free to ask more questions.
Same here mate. Had the same concerns but mine its immense and blemish free. Funnily enough I had an s7 before this, and it doesn't even come close
That let me sleep so much better! My Pre-Ordered G5 is coming between the 15th and 18th April. I get a Silver One with free Cam Plus Module... Hope there are no building issues, I'm one of the First in Germany who gets one... :fingers-crossed:
Nice man. I wouldnt pay for cam plus i think but would have loved a free one. Hope its fun.

Gives at all 4000mah of Battery Size. That's really nice for free, and I love to take Photos with a Hardware Key like on the Xperias from Sony I'm really happy about my Pre-Order. But...

Yes but gonna trade for a different device don't want another G5 don't get me wrong it's a great phone but nothing special too many build issues for me and I believe there is no unlocked bootloader so this phone not for me will trade it for a S7 Edge performance wise exynos is way better and has a bigger batter

Dont worry about the gap. You have to look for it to care. And tru that about the greater battery and hardware button. Again, id be psyched if they'd thrown one in for me.

The gap isn't an issue but when you pay lots of money for something you'd expect better quality.. Anyways like I say it's a great phone can't knock the hardware just needs some small improvements/refinements and it'll be perfect :good:

I picked up the Galaxy S7 Edge and I've been playing with it and comparing it to the G4. Camera photography is hit or miss. Obviously the G4 and G5 (since they have the same sensor specs) will capture more detail (16mpx vs 12mpx) but G5 will have better front facing camera, awesomely neat wide angel.
S7E has VERY good low light... I mean VERY good low light! Huge differences when I take night time shots!
But ... Samsung has its flaws as well. I'm not going to cancel my G5 pre-order, I want to get my hands on it. But Samsung S7E is def. a very good, long lasting device in terms of battery life - let's see how the G5 is in the end! If I get a flawed G5 I'll be disappointed, but I'll ask for another and if that one comes back flawed, I'll keep the S7E as my own personal device.
But I really hope it isn't as bad as some people say here.

Yeah but the processing on g5 is hit and miss too so would be good to see some proper comparisons against S7E, As for battery on G5 I got 3-4 sot in less then 24hrs guess will improve over time but as of now not very impressed 2014 flagships can beat this lol, Just watch for Led backlight bleed if you have it you'll see on first boot or put a black image on screen and go in a dark room and check the corners and side lots of units got this fault, It's not a bad device I think with the right modules and some development i.e kernels etc should be a great phone but i'm digging the S7 way more feels amazing in the hand very premium <3 Plus the exynos chip is very optimised if you watch against the SD820 variant destroys it apart from gaming adreno gpu is boss Just the price of the S7E kills me lol
Not trying to push anyone away from the phone just my experience with it

Price is only 45 euros more for the S7E here in Spain.
Camera is much worse than my G4 ...
Check these out:
Picture of my shoe, same distance. Color on the G4 is far more accurate. Detail is much higher (look at the button next to the shoe lace). I zoomed out of the G4 image to be able to be almost identical to the S7E picture.

In the next picture, color on the S7E is SO washed out, it really changed what the wall looks like. Color is also VERY washed out. That is not a "blue sky"...
I'm very unimpressed with what Samsung offered in terms of well lit pictures.
On the other hand, here is a night shot. Samsung DESTROYED the G4, but then again, G4 is older... And S7E has better low light camera. Either way... Both were taken max aperture (10 sec for Samsung, 30 for LG), 50 ISO, both mounted on tripods. Also these are the best of maybe 4 or 5 images.
I hope this has helped anyone who is very happy with good shooters. I just think that Samsung doing a good job, but not compared to LG in most regular shots. Colors are washed out, details are missing, over sharpened.... Meh... Not impressed, honestly ... On the other hand, night shots are SUPERB on the Samsung, but this is only my 3rd time shooting at night - 99.999% of my shots are daytime or indoor. If the S7E had a better or same camera as the G5, I might have just kept it, but I know I'm going to return it after I test the G5 and S7E side by side (like this images). Best shooter (quality, speed, battery life) will be my next device
Oh, if people are interested, I can test out G4, G5 and S7E images. I have a bunch of G4 and S7E side by sides already, so if anyone wants them let me know and I can publish some information and details about them.
Thank you for the pictures, I would like to see more side by side comparisons if you please.
Have the g5 build quality is good but i do have backlight bleed

Hey,
please ask questions if you have any, I gladly will answer.
For the specs of the phone and the shop I got it from look at the following links.
Mod Edit
This review will cover:
- Build quality
- Camera quality
- Day to day performance
- Battery life
- MIUI vs AOSP
- Verdict
Some background information:
Tested for one week ongoing, the Redmi Note 4 replaced the Moto G4 Plus. The Moto G4 Plus is more expensive but not more appealing.
The build quality:
Absolutely great.
Xiaomi does make good phones, they look good, they feel good, the Redmi Note 4 is no exception. It's a solid metal body phone, with a fast unlocking fingerprint sensor on the back. The screen is big, the colors on it are nice and so is the brightness.
The HTC antenna lines (iPhone copied this from HTC), look good on the Redmi Note 4, signal strength is decent. But make sure the phone has your desired 4G bands, before buying.
Camera quality:
I like it.
That's a tricky topic, it's very situational and depends upon opinions. Here is mine: It's good enough, great for the money, but please judge yourself. Later there will be a Redmi Note 4 vs Mi5 vs Moto G4 Plus camera comparison. Click it to make it big.
Link to full size pictures: picture 1 picture 2 picture 3 picture 4 picture 5
Day to day performance:
The Helio X20, a hungry monster if you want it to be.
In Antutu and other the benchmarks the Helio X20 has pretty awesome performance, but such means nothing for day to day use, so how does it perform? It's not a Snapdragon 820 or 821, no that's not what you shall expect.
The flagship MTK Helio X20 is at the level of a SD 617 or 650, it's hard to tell, but doesn't matter. The performance is good enough you won't wish for more throughout the day. But don't have it in performance mode, this mode will eat up your battery fast, very fast!
Battery life:
Just huge, 4100mAh is huge.
Two days of heavy social media and surfing is normal, you don't have to worry about battery backup, quick charging works fine. I do wish all phones start to have huge batteries.
MIUI vs AOSP:
MIUI is feature rich, colorful and gets updates on regular base. But ASOP (that's stock Android) is faster, and will always be the fastest Android available.
Verdict:
Should you buy it, for let's say 165$? -> yes; Should you buy it for let's say 195$? -> yes. (It's on sale right now.)The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is a sweet little thing, good quality, decent specs on paper. Other phone manufactures will have a hard time to compete, this device is sold very cheap but offers much. Give it a thought and ask a question if you have any.
The last question: Where to buy?
Well that's a good question, there are countless Chinese resellers out. Some are scam, some are nice, some are cheap and bad, some are cheap and good... it's difficult. It sucks that Xiaomi does not sell to international customers directly.
When you decide to buy the phone, you have to decide on a Chinese reseller, choose wisely. I did get this phone from Gearbest, shipping was fast, service was good.

Thanks for your review, photos look really good, the stunning locations certainly help too! Was there any post editing or are they as they were shot? On auto on the stock cam? To be honest it looks good enough for day to day stuff, I wouldn't call myself a photographer but need to take good shots of my kids and like to photograph anything else nice when opportunity arises.
I've pretty much convinced myself to get this phone now, just a small niggle to get the redmi note 3 pro purely for custom rom options, but part of me isn't that bothered as I've used the last couple of phones as is and there seems to be plenty of customisation options in miui to tinker about with.

Ya I get you the Redmi Note 3 Pro vs Redmi Note 4 is a tough choice.
usb otg works.. had try it with 3 of my otg and it works like a charm.
So do you think its worth it coming from a gs4? You're saying MIUI is not better than AOSP wich I am currently using, and getting great performance but terrible battery life. Also you compare the proccesor with a mid range snapdragon, let us not forget that the s4 was a flagship in it's release. So what do you think?

Hey,
thank you for asking a question.
Samsung uses TouchWiz what is "as slow as" MIUI is.
Did you install ASOP as a custom ROM? if that's the case you never got the full true ASOP speed.
---
My girlfriend only had true ASOP devices and now is happy with the Redmi Note 4, she keeps it as her daily driver.
(I used it for a couple of days and then she took it, I do have a Mi 5 as my daily driver.)
She used:
- 2 years Google Nexus 5, until the battery broke.
- some months the Moto G4 Plus she liked the battery, but wasn't happy with it in general.
Both devices are very sleek and fast true ASOP devices, such will always be faster then Samsung, Xiaomi or others.
However! She keeps on using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Moto G4 Plus just lays around unused.
I asked her about the speed and she said: The Moto G4 Plus was faster... but this doesn't make her use it.
Or in other words, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is fast enough to be a daily driver, that's for sure.
----
Back on topic.
Ya the Helio X20 is a middle range SoC, the problem is that 10 cores are nice on paper, but the Software can't use it.
This means: It's neither advantage nor disadvantage to have 10 cores... it's just like having 6 or 8 of it (because of the software behind).
If you only used Samsungs Touchwiz thing, you can switch to MIUI, the performance difference won't be much. (Things will look different though, icon and style things.)

Please keep in mind that all phones suck at low lights, all but maybe the Samsung S7, iPhone 7 and google Pixel... but apart from those super super expensive phones pretty much all phones suck at low lights.
(And I live in Tromsø, far up in the north where it's dark half of the year, I am used to having low lights.)

Just wondering if the camera supports camera2 API? Also, I've read it has NFC, is this correct? Oh, are you still doing the comparison to the G4 Plus?
Thanks for any replies.

Yeah do yourself a favour & buy one!! I'm more than impressed with mine & I know I would be paying double that for something even close locally.
As for that price I think it's good, it's what I payed 2 weeks ago but if you decide to go with express shipping that's where they will differ a little & I also got a soft gel tpu case, a tempered glass protector & a flip case thrown in as gifts so thats something to look for.

So here we are again. Sammy has released the note 20 series phones and the reviews are quickly rolling in to show that again, the exynos is underperforming, in comparison to the sd+, in terms of 2 most crucial aspects, performance and battery. For how long is Sammy going to get away with this shabby trick, of shoving the exynos down European Market throats?
Exynos or sd, which do you think is better?
https://youtu.be/8hFgvR7k0tY
There is no one here that would argue that exynos is better.
The exynos fans use the dumb argument of Samsung, in normal use no difference, they just don't say that there's no difference in normal use because the average user never will try a snapdragon version [emoji38]

That's my point, it's the Samsung attitude of scamming the euro costumers by selling something less performant for the same price that annoys me, and does not fit in my mind lol
But apart the first month's of s20 series where you can fry a egg on exynos [emoji23], they are right...99% of the users doesn't see any difference. Its just the attitude.

My N20 Ultra Exynos varient was fine with battery and wasn't warming up however I'm not a gamer and gave me a full days usage to how I used it but for some reason it wasn't holding onto signal very well at all.
Tried all types of troubleshooting.
I ended up arranging for Samsung to collect it as I have a 28 day cooling off period to change my mind.
I'll then have to await a refund and then consider trying again.
I'm not heavy user mainly social media few photos bit Netflix or prime video don't game tbh
And having to plug in around T time just to last the evening stint about standard for 4500mAh battery I've experienced on most phones with same mAh batt only had 48hrs so hoping it will improve but should have had a 5000+ mAh in my opinion

For such a expensive phone the compromise one has to endure for better battery life 60hz WQHD/FHD+ is pretty lame switch to FHD+ 120hz and watch that [emoji367] drain and still laggy at times even with that enabled you would of thought samsung would of learnt after S20 ultra
Bigger battery + 120Hz @ WQHD is a must if want to compete with the find x2 pro that can do that oh Yr coz it has a SD and not some crappy exynos we get fobbed of every year with how about for once give the uk the SD as well , seriously considering sending it back in my 14 day window whats the point of these features if they degrade battery so much to use them waste of time , sorry rant over now

I buy my s9+ snapdragon and will do the same with note. Exynos never since s7 edge.
For the same price or cheaper we get better performance. This Samsung policy of double SoC is just annoying.

Hi,
My battery was OK but not any better than my 1 year old N10+ 5G. I had more battery % left on the N10+ by the end of my day which is from 5am to 9pm as I turn my phone's Off overnight and charge up no matter what battery % I have left.
Maybe It has to do with the 120hz adaptive refresh rate and or the Exynos Chipset in my opinion after my own personal experiences and reading other people's findings including how JerryRiggEveryrhing changed cooling systems around in both N20 Ultra varients which didn't make that much of an difference i.e didn't improve how the Exynos Chipset performed.
It's confusing as even some Snapdragon owners are reporting battery issues.
I get that the battery optimises and learns but it also should give good screen time out of the box and then improve from usage and via updates from Samsung.
I did put some apps to sleep and some to deep sleep and disabled any google service / app and Google Chrome app i could which is what I do with all my phones. I also turned Off 5G as I can't use that connection type.
For me signal was becoming an issue which some other owners have experienced too. I had no warming up issues either.
So my N20 Ultra is being collected this week under the 28 day No Quibble returns period and then await a refund and start again.

In Settings - Connections I have the option to change from 5G/4G etc to just 4G/3G etc but I'm in the Uk and I'm aware not all Network's globally allow this.
Yes the signal bar is to give an indication of signal but even when using the same sim card in other phone's which provided good connection and using other sim cards in the N20 Ultra it gave poor quality connection.
Other people in these areas on the same Network had no issue's so I couldn't put it down to masts.
May be phone is defective try to replace. for me I never faced any of this issues.battery is amazing getting 3hr sot for 30% usage.
