Note 3 - Help - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got a Note 3 N900W8 and I successfully rooted it and installed Resurrection Remix. I also installed TWRP and Gapps. I clicked flash ROM and then right after I rebooted it. Then a few hours later I realized I forgot to add the Gapps. So I went went and installed it also, when I booted it back up I kept of getting the error "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped working" and every time I clicked OK it would instantly pop back up, so I couldn't do anything. I searched online and found that I just needed to install both the ROM and the Gapps at the same time. So I cleared all the data by accident, then went back to my computer and it couldn't read my device. I tried going into TWRP mode but everyone it would turn off the error "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" would come on and I can't do anything now. Please help...

If you can boot into TWRP then go to Advanced -> File Manager -> System -> Priv-app -> setupwizard -> setupwizard.apk and delete the file or the entire setupwizard folder.
If you can't boot into TWRP then flash stock from SamMobile with Odin.

Apps installation screw up. Need help PLEASE!!

I got my S3 today, and of course set out to root it immediately. Everything went fine until I went to install google apps. I inadvertantly chose the wrong zip and installed the ones for my Skyrocket. Now it boots fine, but is stuck in an error notification loop where it says gapps has closed and setup has failed. If I could get back to the recovery panel, I'd know exactly what to do, but I can't get there with this phone for some reason. When I reboot with down volume, it boots into "safe" mode, but still gets stuck in the loop. If I reboot with down volume and home, I go to the Downloading screen. Could someone please help me get back to the recovery panel???:silly:

I can now get into recovery (thank you!) but it's a hobbled recovery, not the touch recovery I installed when I originally rooted. It only gives me four options, including install zip from external sd. When I try to install CM or gapps I get a failed to get permission message and the installation aborts. Unfortunately, fix permissions is not one of the four options I'm presented with
So now I'm trying to flash clockwork mod touch from odin, but it hangs at the Samsung Galaxy boot screen when it goes to reboot. Any ideas out there?

I managed to flash a new cwm via odin and got into my familiar cwm. From there I was able to reinstall cm10 and gapps (the right one this time!) and it no longer hangs at the samsung galaxy boot screen, and is FIXED. Thank you so much for your help!!

[Q] Rooting/TWRP/goomanager/gapps problem... Help!

Hi, posted this in the wrong sub forum at first. Guess I was just flustered a bit by my panic.
But yeah... So... basically I rooted my sprint S4, and I put Goomanager, TWRP, and Cyanogenmod 10.1 on it. I downloaded all the files and installed all of it what I thought was the correct place. So I cleared all my data in TWRP and flashed Cyanogenmod and what I thought was the correct and most recent gapps, then I rebooted it. Seemed fine but I have no Google accessibility no contacts/apps/play store nothing. Ok fine just go back and reflash gapps and I'm gold... Turns out I did not have goomanager/twrp on my sd card so they are gone. So i have no custom recovery to load my backup of my factory settings, no way to download goomanager on my phone (I even tried the akp file and it just say "unfortunately google play has stopped") and can't find files to flash them on in ODIN mode even... HELP!!!
Any answers or help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm confused. How did you clear all your data in TWRP and flash CM/gapps if you don't have TWRP installed?
Anyways, you can get the TWRP tar file here to flash in ODIN: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/178

Update failed n stuck at google logo

was on 4.3 JWR66Y with stock kernel, unlocked bootloader, rooted - super su, busybox & a Custom recovery i.e. TWRP.
with Few Mods i.e. 4 way reboot, battery circle & Custom softkeys.
my nexus 4 showed OTA 4.4 update notification, i followed process - it downloaded OTA & accepted "reboot to install", automatically restarted to twrp nothing happened further. so i did factory reset to try again but found out that the downloaded OTA file was gone! & it shown "no latest update" later i manually downloaded "KRT16S frm JWR66Y" zip (238.9 mb) frm google/android server & tried to flash using TWRP, well it aborted saying some error in the middle of flashing (flashing didnt complete). So i wiped cache, dalvik etc (excluding partition & internal storage) to try flashing the file again. Worst thing is the "reboot to system" says "there is no OS you still want to continue?" stuck at google logo. (did read somewhere to rename zip file to update.zip unfortunately it didnt work)
good thing is i still have access to fastboot/bootloader and of course TWRP
what are my options ? use NRT to go back to 4.3 stock everything & then try to update again?
Please help, thank you XDA..
(could not find any other similar thread i.e. rooted, twrp, unlocked bootloader, with few mods etc.)

If you have the zip you can sideload it. Or you can flash the factory images in fastboot mode. This is post here for the guides. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47762352&postcount=2

[Q] Attempted to install TWR & SuperSU - T330 won't boot past Samsung Logo

I decided to finally root my Wifi only Galaxy Tab 4, 16 gig. To my understanding it is the T330. It had the latest OTA - 5.1.1 I believe?
After installing TWRP and trying to flash SuperSU it won't boot past the Samsung logo.
I did the following:
Prior to today I have had the USB drivers installed
Downloaded and extracted ODIN 3.0.9
Downloaded TWRP 2.8.7 Tar file for the T3xx series
Downloaded SuperSU zip file for version 2.46
I opened up ODIN, unchecked the "Auto Reboot" box (after seeing elsewhere that it was needed when flashing the recovery), checked the box for "AP" and selected the .tar file for TWRP. I clicked start, everything went correctly, I removed the USB cable and manually restarted the device by holding the power button. Once it was off I then held the power button, volume up, and home button to boot into recovery, and to my excitement I was greeted with TWRP. So far it looked like it was going according to plan. A screen came up saying that the system was currently read only, and it was giving me the choice to allow the recovery to change it. I swiped to allow it to change it so the system partitions were not read only. I went to the install option, and selected the SuperSU zip file. Installed it, it said that it installed correctly. I went back to the main menu and rebooted the device. That's when things did NOT go according to plan. It played the nice little boot sound, the animated Samsung logo came up, and I waited. I waited some more. I continued to wait. After 10 minutes of the Samsung animation repeating I assumed that trouble was afoot and turned the tablet off and attempted to get back into recovery, which it did. I then turned it off and checked to see if I could still get into Download Mode: and it can and the PC can see it as connected when I load up ODIN.
So I have the tablet soft bricked. My goal was to have it rooted with custom recovery to install roms.
If that's not possible, I assume my best bet would be to use ODIN to push the Samsung files over and flash it back to factory that way, undoing what I have done?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I tried to be as detailed as possible to assist anyone who may be willing to help.

Have you tried wiping dalvik and cache through recovery? If that doesn't help maybe do a factory reset before restoring the factory image?

Edit: I think this might be what you need

I tried to wipe cache and dalvik - still gets stuck at the Samsung logo... Tried to do a factory reset from TWRP and after rebooting from recovery it continues to get stuck. I'll try flashing the kernel but I don't understand why that would have gotten messed with from flashing the recovery and installing the SuperSU part.
Okay I take back my statement... flashed the kernel, after flashing did a cache and dalvik wipe and boom... it boots!!! You are officially my hero! Thank you!

N6P Stuck on "Preparing Contacts Storage"

Hello,
I'm on a rooted N6P with ElementalX and TWRP (both latest versions).
I used Flashfire to flash the September security update image. I chose that Flashfire boot into TWRP when flashing the image was done and I re-flashed Xposed and ElementalX, wiped cache/dalvik and rebooted.
All was well, the apps were being optimized, when that finished, I got stuck on: "Preparing Contacts Storage".
It's been like that for about half an hour now.
I really need your help to get the phone booted again.
Thanks!
Update: Solved. I went into TWRP file manager, /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf and deleted the "modules.list" file. The phone booted normally. I then went to TWRP and reflashed Xposed. Everything is fine now.
