Kernel for Stock MIUI? - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

I really want to use Stock MIUI, but I want a custom kernel, so I can control temperature and other stuff. And now that Xiaomi released kernel sources I'd thought I'd find a kernel easily here. So if anyone has a kernel with thermal for Stock MIUI on kitkat, please share it

[Q] Franco Kernel with stock?

Stock with Franco:
Will it work? Will it give the same benefits as CM 10.1?
Will OTA work? If I sideload OTA will I have to reflash kernel?
CM 10.1:
If I flash new ROM/update ROM, will kernel stay?
Thanks,
Yes the kernel will work. The kernel and rom in CM10.1 is obviously different to stock and francos so im not sure how they compare - try both yourself ?
Im not sure about OTA. I would just flash a AOSP stock ROM every time there is an update just in case if you want to stay on stock.
If you flash a new ROM no the kernel will not stay you have to flash the kernel again as CM10.1 (like most ROMs) comes with its own kernel that will overwrite your current one.
I've been wanting to ask this about faux's kernel since I'm having the (very common) msm_hsic_host wakelock issue. Since we're on the subject: does anyone have a suggestion for the most stable, closest to stock, AOSP ROM?

CM13 Overclock Kernel

Hello,
I have one very basic question, is there an overclock kernel for CM13 based ROMS? If not, is there an overclock kernel for Hydrogen or Oxygen based ROMS for OP2?
Thanks in advance,

Best custom rom + kernel currently?

Thinking about switching from cloudy 3.3 to a custom rom.
Is the cm13 the best now or is there something similar or better?
Also, what kernel should i be using if i decide to switch?
You can try CM13 based Roms as well.
I'm on MIUI8 Rom right now which looks really nice! And it has some useful tools you can only find on MIUI Roms. But...it has got a few bugs which developer is always trying to fix them but well...they might be annoying for some people!
You can also try some CM13 builds which are bug-free and smoother but...it's pure Android so no special tool. It's up to you
But I'm pretty sure that Lambda kernel is the best kernel to use on CM/AOSP based Roms. You may want to give it a try.

MIUI 9 Kernel/Kernel Adiutor configs.

We all know that MIUI is a very limited rom in terms of performance, you can easily notice that playing PUBG in a Custom ROM x MIUI ROM.
But now, for some reasons, i dont want to install a custom ROM again on my device. Is there anyway to boost up MIUI Rom? Maybe with a flashable Kernel or just some configs for Kernel Adiutor...
I'm using MIUI 9.

[HELP][KERNEL]I'm a newbie on kernel flashing and I have a few questions.

Hello. First of all, i have experience flashing roms on my phone (I have my bootloader unlocked already, and i have root permissions), but right now I'm on stock pie, up to date with last updates. I noticed that my kernel is 3.18.xx.
The last couple of days I have been doing some tweaking to my phone, and I'd like to have as much battery life as possible, so, of course, I read about different kernels like lightning, franco's, extreme, and so on.
The thing is that, for example, for lightning, which seems the only one that still supports A1, I have to be on kernel 4.9 and using a custom rom.
My questions are:
Is it mandatory to be on a custom rom to flash a custom kernel? or
Is it possible to flash a custom kernel under a stock rom? If that's the case,
Should I update my kernel to 4.9 by flashing a stock kernel? Or I can apply a custom kernel directly?
Honestly, most of this is pretty confusing to me since there isn't as much info on kernels/flashing kernels like there is for flashing roms.

If you wanna custom kernel on stock, find one there that the kernel version is 3.18, like eXtreme Kernel for example.
By flashing 4.9 kernel on stock will cause issues. 4.9 custom kernels are only for Custom ROMs that comes with Kernel 4.9 already.
i have tried Extreme kernel and Moun kernel 6.2 version on srock pie both r working good but i suggest extreme kernel you can choose oc version and non-oc version

Thank you. I'm glad you tried ex-kernel. My idea was to use it to limit the clocks of my cpu and maybe reduce the number of cores… i'm a little obsessed with battery saving… i have no isues with draining, but since i charge my phone to 80% i'd like to get the most of my battery. Could you tell me if you perceived better battery life with that kernel?
