Here you go:
"single-file" flash-file; data should stay intact when flashing this...
G935FXXU1APC8 (Germany - DBT)
UN-RAR, place TAR-file in AP in Odin 3.10.7
Could you make screenshots of "version info" (*#1234#) and software-info when flashed?

Sorry, I could not find the thread. Already tried to install with home_csc which ended in a freeze during Odin installation. And the above version of henklbr does wipe data.
Can you point me to the correct post, please?
Did anybody upgrade his rooted phone without wipe?

Do you mean that my single-file wiped your data?
I think, that's because you flashed the 1st time with HOME_CSC, and then the freeze of Odin -> THAT wiped your data!
If you flash again now, with my single file, I'm sure it WON'T WIPE your data!

Hi Hektor,
No, the freeze regarding home_csc was solved. I recovered my data from TWRP backup.
Today I flashed your single file with ODIN and it removed my files. I had to run through setup again, so I again recovered through TWRP backup.
Dont really know what is wrong.
Here is my original setup:
Odin: Installed firmware SM-G935F DBT G935FXXU1APAW
Odin: Installed TWRP 3.0.0.0
TWRP: Installed 3.0.0.1
TWRP: Installed BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503
And as I mentioned, today I tried to upgrade with your file (G935FXXU1APC8 DBT) through ODIN which caused a wipe
Best wishes,
Scrato

An OFFICIAL ROM-flash always removes your ROOT; I think, that's the reason you've to "set-up" again!

I thought you can keep your data somehow. Before I bought the Galaxy S7 Edge I used a S5 with Omega Rom.
Any Omega Rom update kept my data, so I thought this can be done with the original firmware for S7 as well as long I root the phone.

Here is a way that works. Did that yesterday and no issues: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/install-ota-rooted-s7-flashfire-t3357065

[Q] GT-i9500CHN

Dear All,
I am struggling to introduce different firmware to my GT-i9500CHN.
I have got from China original Samsung retailer. (went thru several checks it is genuine GT-i9500)
I have tried to put 'European' firmware as Chinese one is 'google-less' and has only Samsung Chinese IME. (I am living in the UK)
My current baseband version is I9500ZCUCMF3 and handset is not accepting any other (getting 'soft brick' via ODIN), so I am able to go back only to I9500ZCUCMF3.
My Kernel version is: 3.4.5-868190 [email protected] #1, Mon Jul 1 20:14:37 KST 2013
Has anyone have experience with changing that firmware?
Thank you for your support.
Flash it 5 file in Odin.

Terazoido,
Thank you for the hint. I will try to download it tonight and flash it with ODIN 3.09.

Flash a recovery via ODIN, CWM or TWRP. Then you could flash non-stock ROM. Leave the baseband alone....

I have finally managed to download rar. It contains:
1.adonis_3g.pit
2.BOOTLOADER_I9500ZSUBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_sh ip.tar.md5
3.CODE_I9500ZSUBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_ship.tar .md5
4.MODEM_I9500XXUBMF8_REV01_CL1331687_SIGNED.tar.md 5
5.CSC_OZS_I9500OZSBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I have tried to flash 3.CODE_I9500ZSUBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_ship.tar .md5 and failed & soft brick.
Fortunately I am able to go back to 3. I9500ZCUCMG1_I9500CHNCMG1_I9500ZCUCMF3_HOME.tar.md5.
I am just wondering what can happened if I fail to flash it with all 5 above files. Can I come back to 3. I9500ZCUCMG1_I9500CHNCMG1_I9500ZCUCMF3_HOME.tar.md5 ? Or I would need to flash 5 original files (which I don't have..)
Thank you

It is the MODEM file. As I said, leave the baseband alone... Those files you downloaded are for i9500 HK version, but you are holding China Mainland version. They might have minor difference.
Download latest twrp.tar file and flash using Odin in the PDA tab.
Press Volume UP + Home immediately after reboot, you should see TWRP UI if succeed.

Hi Cellegg,
I have found below instruction to install TWRP:
http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s4-using-twrp-method/
at the end of it, it is mentioned to root it with SuperSU zip
What do you think about it?
I am not sure if can do it with my Kernel. How to check if I don't have: SetUID restriction on the kernel ?

Following that instruction would work. Yes, you need flash SuperSU to root your phone.
But if you want to flash other non-stock rom, just ignore that step, most of non-stock rom already includes SuperSU.
I haven't heard of any China Mainland version cellphone encountered SetUID restriction issue.

Dear Cellegg,
I have managed to install TWRP and installed SuperSU v1.51 (0.91 was unable to update the binaries..)
Everything seems to be running fine (I did full backup to SD). However I am not sure how to proceed now...
I would like to have google apps and English IME. Shall I flash some custom ROM? What do you advise?

Custom Rom would be better.
Try OMEGA rom:

Presume you know how to use TWRP, backup all your stuff and full wipe (cache, delvik cache, rom, data)

Dear Cellegg,
I have tried to flash OMEGA as advised, but unsuccesful. I have read on the OMEGA thread, that:
Wipe cache partition automatic before roms installation
Wipe Dalvik Cache automatic during installation
Wipe preload partition automatic before roms installation
Wipe System automatic before roms installation
is included, so I didn't proceed with wipe (I have seen it being wiped while flashing)
I have also flashed XXUBMG9 at the beginning as advised on OMEGA thread.
After reboot, I have got standard white 'Samsung logo GT-i9500' and after that nothing happened --> black screen...
I was able to restore via TWRP to start point.
Any ideas?
thank you

Wipe procedure during OMEGA installation somehow would not fully remove stock files...you have to use TWRP's wipe to do that.
1) Advanced Wipe in TWRP (data, system, cache, delivk cache.)
2) flash OMEGA rom
One more thing, if you encounter WIFI or Bluetooth issue, try to flash different kernel, Adam kernel.

Hi Cellegg,
Thank you for hints.
I have followed OMEGA's instruction about modem:
'Flash the new modem XXUBMG9 before flashing Omega v12, get it from here or from Omega Files free and Pro. If you did not flash the new modem first then you may loose your modem. If this happens flash XXUBMG9 modem to restore it'
What do you think about it?
I will try with Advance WIpe in TWRP as next.
[edit] Unfortunately same result after flashing modem XXUBMG9 and Omega v12 rom - black screen... no idea why?!
Any ideas?
[edit2] I have checked information about baseband/modem in 'About device' and it is showing: I9500XXUBMG9
Thanks

It seems you had successfully flashed the MODEM/baseband, if I9500XXUBMG9 showed in 'About Device'
I would say try again...or try other Recovery and Roms...
Anyway, if all above failed..here it is the Google apps package: http://www.vdisk.cn/down/index/13790672 (hit "智能线路下载" to download)
You must root your phone before flashing it.

Did you use Odin 1.85? And did you tick the option update new bootloader? If not do that.
If did that then wipe cache and data reset from recovery.

You know if the phone is up and running. Kitkat can't boot without new bootloader. So if the phone is working there is no issues.

just FYI,
if you want to flash TW custom ROM, the best you use is Chenglu CWM. So far I seldom see user complain got problem during flashing with this CWM.
TWRP, some users got problem, some are not.

Unroot..is possible to use supersu and then factory reset?i think yes..

Hi
I have read that some users have have problems with factory reset after root with towelroot.
but if i only do root, install supersu and usetitanium backup to freeze various bloatware..if then i defreeze apps ecc i have freezed and then use supersu option to unroot, delete supersu and finally do a factory reset,,this could be a good way without flash rom with odin?
Because i think that the way is to restore all the apps in the rom as the were before doing changes.

Your description is somewhat confusing. But if I understood your intent, then yes, you can revert your changes that way.
But wouldn't it be easier to do a full Nandroid (backup)? Which you can later restore if you want to return your system to it's original state.

Unrooting from within the superSU app folowed by flashing a stock rom with Odin and after that a data factory reset is the best way imo to restore to 100% stock imho

There are several Odin tutorials on Youtube to give you an idea how it works.
Important is to disable Kies (Tray Agent) in windows task manager, enable usb debugging in developer options and download a stock rom and extract it with 7-zip, place the .tar.md5 fii\le with Odin in PDA and flash it in with the phone in downloadmode.

But tutorials online explain first to reinstall firmware througt odin and then do a factory reset data e cache.essentially reflash stock firmware is useful to disable root.but if a user has the same stock rom (so he didn't install others roms and kernel or recovery) why he can't take off root with the option in supersu and then wipe data e cache?
I don't understand the sense to reflash a firmware that i already have in the phone..that has same stock kermel and recovery..
In my opinion reflash a stock rom could be useful if a user has another rom with another kernel and recovery..but i have already stock rom!
Can i use Odin mobile? Now i have Read is compatible with galaxy s5 900f And i have a 900f..

Downgraded my Note 3 to kitkat now I have a bootloop

Hi,
I tried to downgrade my Note 3 with CSC VIA to Kitkat VIA. Downloaded and flashed firmware from Sammobile. Didn't work. failed in ODIN though it finished.
I tried it again and now i can flash Kitkat with ODIN "passed" but I'm stuck in bootloop. Full wipe and cache clean in recovery won't work. Tried it a last time with Kitkat DBT version (debranded) and added a PIT file by Darklord for 1DBT. ODIN says passed but the bootloop still is there. Download mode is still available so i see some real chance to get it done.
Is it possilbe to debrand to DBT that easily or shall I stay on VIA? I never tried the PIT file for DBT with VIA firmware. Anyone has a clue what I might try to get it working again? Ah btw. Recovery and Download seems to be perfectly fine and Knox isn't triggered.
Your input is highly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Try this:
1. Full wipe first (system, data, cache and dalvik)
2. Flash the VIA Kit Kat firmware via ODIN unticking "Autoreboot".
3. Take out the battery and pull in it again when the flashing process finish.
4. Boot in Recovery and make full wipe again.
5. Reboot your device and it should boot normally.
6. Tell me if it worked for ya
Hi,
thanks for you input. I tried it - still the bootloop. So I made a try with the current version (installed before). This works - most likely because I'm unable to clean Dalvik with the standard recovery.
Anyhow in the end I'm not happy with the outcome because of the bluetooth issues of the new version. Anybody has a suggestion how to downgrade sucessfully - I'd happily install a CM12.1 as well but a nightly without installation advice seems to be a bit too much for me.
try flashing MODEM with NON-HLOS, I think you have corrupted the EFS.

You can flash TWRP recovery if you don't care about KNOX and follow my steps above :highfive:

No CP File

I downloaded the original firmware from SamMobile, but the .zip file does not have a CP file. Any idea where I can get one for the SM-T580 (WIFI)?
You have a WiFi Only version of the Tablet. It does not have a radio/modem installed by default. So the firmware will not have the Cell Processor file.

I suspected that, thanks!
Quick question, if I go into TWRP and format data, then advance wipe everything and flash stock will my device be brand new and clean of any potential malware? I have unistalled magisk and done this recently.

Well generally speaking yes, especially if you use the nand erase all button in ODIN. But I've come across 2 different things that could create a persistent partition that could survive a data reset.

I downloaded the original firmware from SamMobile, but the .zip file does not have a CP file. Any idea where I can get one for the SM-T580 (WIFI)?

Did the firmware work for you from Sammobile? I have the custom binary blocked by frp and can't seem to flash the files with odin
Thanx for asking this particular question! I've spent the last 3 days on the Internet, trying to find that information. Many thanx to Delgoth for that answer.
