USB OTG app - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an OTG cable with a flash drive and I tried to use ES Explorer and Root Explorer to move files to and from the OTG but it's not showing the drive. I know I can just go to the Settings and Storage and USB but anybody have an app that works.

Either that otg cable is dodgy or your devices does not like your pendrive. Try plugging a mouse and see if it works.

I agree with @kadopt
I just plugged my OTG able in and it popped right up.

I would verify the OTG cable works by trying a controller or another flash drive possibly, if you haven't already.
I had issues with getting my Sandisk flash drive to appear at first, but I got it eventually.
i also plan to buy a sandisk pendrive
and otg cable fro ebay ~
but dunno it working or nt
Do you have stickmount? If so when download stickmount make sure you go into the app and mount your chip. Should work

[Q] USB Storage via OTC cable

I rooted my N10, then installed some Apps for OTC Mass Storage detection. These Apps are detecting and mounting the USB drive.
With an explorer i can copy files form the N10 to the USB stick, but i cannot see these files on my Windows PC.
And when I copy from my Windows PC I cannot see these files on my Nexus.
Does somebody know what's the problem here?
Thanks!
Strange. Are you using Stickmount with ES File Explorer?
Just flash Craiggomez's ROM and you'll have native USB support. It's so much easier.

Exactly, I am using these two Apps....
My Windows is also not mounting the N10 storage via USB... kind of weird...

It works good. But I cannot copy files onto the usb storage.
Is your N10 storage recognized by Windows when connected to the USB?

[Q] can't find my external files

When I plug in a USB drive using the OTG micro USB cable I can see that it's connected (flash drive lighting up) but I can't find the files anywhere on my nexus 10. Where do I locate them?
You need an app like this to be able to browse/see your flash drive.

Any ideas how to get this to work?

Need to download an app called nexus media importer to have full control.
Are you stock ?
What filesystem is on the card ?
6P seems to like only fat32 (though I haven't retested this with 6.0.1).

I have this same drive. I didn't need an extra app to have full control. I can r/w and copy files back and forth from es files explorer. What exactly does media importer do?
Not sure what the problem was but after flashing 6.0.1 it seems to be working fine....

It doesn't give you a folder when you insert the flash drive. If you go to settings in ES while the flash drive is inserted you should see a setting to enable USB. When you check that it will show up in the local tab of ES.
