Notification sound volume - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

My notification sound is very loud, even when set to the lowest volume?
Anyone else experiencing this? I have the ATT version, S7 Edge in silver.
I saw another person post this on reddit, but I didn't see a solution. Wondering if it's a software bug.

Notifications not as loud as ringer?

I noticed this from the day I got the phone that the notifications don't seem anywhere near as loud as the actual ringer sound, even after putting the slider for the notification loudness to maximum in the settings. Anyone else feel this is the case?

[Q] Speaker volume issue

Hello!
So i noticed a problem. The volume of media/games is also affected by the ringtone volume.
If the ringtone volume is muted, the volume of media/games is lowered. When the ringtone volume is unmuted - no matter the level - the volume of media/games gets louder.
My LG G2 i guess must be the international version. It is bought in Denmark.
Would anyone try to confirm?
Will someone please confirm this?
Confirmed.
So it's a bug. Makes me wonder about the reviews about the sound now. :silly:

actually I did notice this when I activated advanced calling. someone from t-mobile called me from an s6 edge plus and i was like holy crap that phone sounds so good! I didn't think advanced calling worked between carriers?? either that phone sounds real good, or advanced calling works with t-mobile and verizon lol

On AT&T and have continuous background static. Haven't used the phone function much yet so I'm hoping it's not a constant. I can hear the other person loud and clear but there is slight static on the call as well.
Noise top speaker
I also have noise on the top speaker. Irritation when calling but also notisable while listening to music or watching videos. Also have the popping sound and crackling at high volumes. The crackling can be minimized by changing settings in the equalizer in play music app. Mine where set to base and I set them to balanced, better than before.
Problem for me, should I return the phone? I still want the Style/Pure. But what if it is software related? Maybe the next phone will be the same. No one knows.
Anyone got a new flawless phone after returning the first?

Gmail Notifications at full volume despite volume turned down

Hi all -
Has anyone else experienced this?
For some reason, my Gmail notifications come in at full volume, despite the fact that I have my Notifications volume turned down. All my other notifications appear to be fairly quiet, as per the volume setting.
At first, I thought it might be Gmail using a different audio path (such as Ringtone). So I turned those down as well. Still came through full volume.
I'm using the same sound file from my S6, which is normal volume, so I know it's not a loud file.
Any thoughts on what else I could check?
Thanks!

In-call volume too loud

Hello everybody,
Phone is Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, ZE500KL, Android 5.0.2, WW_12.8.5.222
My in-call volume is too loud.
If i'm in a car or in some other quiet space, everybody can hear the person i am talking to.
Speaker is not turned on, and in-call volume is set at the minimum (volume button during call). The button is working, but even the minimum volume setting is too loud.
Is there some volume setting at system level where i can lower the whole in-call volume range, or some app for doing that?
Or maybe some app that can somehow overlay in-call volume and make it quieter? Maybe if i root my phone?
Please help, i really need to lower in-call volume.
Thanks in advance.
Bump.
Please answer, if anyone knows the answer how can i lower in-call volume.
I really have problems with it, must leave my office too often, or hope that the person i speak to won't say anything odd or something.
I am currently thinking of changing my phone because of this stupid problem.
Hahahaha. This is a refreshing problem!! I have always heard people saying the in-call volume is too low. You have a unique problem
Yes, i know But that's the reason i can't find the answer
Hello, have to ask again. Is there anyone who can help me with this "in-call too loud" problem?
Hi. I am facing the same problem. The earpiece speaker is Really loud. The callers voice is audible to everyone sitting near me. The volume is set to minimum
I understand you completely, but unfortunately i still don't have working solution to lower in-call volume below it's lowest setting.
Please write here if you find any solution to this unusual problem, i will do the same.
