aicp, crdroid, and broken are all very stable.
For now, nothing beats stock for battery life, and gravitybox gets you many of the custom ROM features.

Currently the 13-Feb build of LineageOS is most stable with no bugs. Try it.
Audio and Mic both working perfectly fine.

The maintainer for clark (ie. Moto X Style/Pure) has left the Broken team, no one has replaced them so our device is being dropped from their development.
TBH, this was, and probably still is, the most stable custom ROM I ever tried on the MXPE... Too bad it's not one of their supported devices anymore.

Yea I wholeheartedly agree with this. Broken was by far the best ROM on MM. Once I was on it I was wondering what I was doing with my life. Everything that didn't work on every other ROM, worked. And then I saw it was no longer being supported and it was very disappointing. Luckily the Ground Zero Roms have saved this device for me. The N ROMS from them are really really good, with nearly no problems at all. I am on Validus, but reports from all three have been overall positive.

I would look into Dirty Unicorns as well... It is very stable, but make sure you understand their whole official, RC, and weeklies thing, support is done through their G+ page.

I had tried DU at some point between January and February and...something was broken. I feel like it was bluetooth, camera. Something I used all the time didn't work so I couldn't stick with it. Without Broken though, you're right, DU would be next on the list.

I wont agree. If you see AOSPA are the first custom rom which adds not only new features but improves core stuff as well. The camera and new post processing algorithm for example is better than OOS which is a huge step also the color engine though in its infancy is very good and is building on top of OOS theme engine. They have also fixed the voice call drain using custom firmware. So there are things they have done right and improved stuff. So I guess AOSPA has started right. If they can just continue making solid improvements its would be a fantastic idea.

OOS color theme is just enough for me,
Voice call is fixed in today's beta 8,
Dunno about camera we need more proof and test...
Anyway,i was a big fun of AOSPA in the past so let's wait and see, maybe i'll give it a try when OnePlus drop support for the 3T(if they don't drop the support and die again)

Improved camera quality is a big boast. I don't think they'd do it if they couldn't back it up. It's been sitting on my internal storage waiting to be flashed. I think I'm going to back up tonight and flash my first custom rom tomorrow. That's really and truly a testament to OxygenOS as well as Paranoid Android.
Is it true that Android O would have native substratum theme enabled, thereby negating the need for rooting the phone? Can someone confirm?

Yes let's hope so. My intentions was to know whether this would be available on stock rom's or just custom rom's. I think Oxygen OS is above par as compared to the best smartphones out there when it comes to stock rom so this would be a stellar addition as and when it happens, or lets say if it happens.

As I scroll through everyday threads here on XDA I keep getting amazed how fast the developers are building Shamu ROM's with Google's latest and greatest Oreo 8.0.
So far I have used only SiXROM, versions 1.1 and 1.2 and it has been very good, especially the 1.2 version, which now looks more polished. Force closes are almost entirely gone now (it random rebooted just once, don't know why), and to my knowledge with only the NFC not working at all.
I've seen also (and getting very good reviews by users) that there are a couple of more Oreo ROM's like crDroid (version Beta 2 - 18-Sep-17) and Republic of Madness ROM Oreo (21-Sep-17) with a lot more coming, like PureNexus (I guess), LOS and Dirty Unicorns. And although we are still at early stages, these builds are almost ready to be used day-to-day.
Anyway, just wanted to know from you if you had a chance to use any of these Oreo ROM's for the N6 and what you think of them thus far.
Cheers and keep on flashing.

Although PN is my favorite I just couldn't wait to get a taste of Oreo
I don’t like these kind of polls because then we’re trying to favor one rom over another. We shouldn’t judge a rom based on feedback, because every rom is different. It’s like everyone will have a different opinion.
But anyways, I’m waiting for a stable build, I know these devs are doing good work but patience is a virtue.

Using Nexus 5x since my Nexue 6 is cracked. I can say that although Nexus 5x is officially supported and "more stable" Shamu runs Oreo like a champ and is actually faster. My Nexue 5x is constantly freezing up. Can't wait until my girlfriend's iPhone gets returned so I can enjoy Pixel XL.

What About GApps?
So far I've only tried S.i.X's first Oreo build, it was looking pretty good then and it's likely gotten jmuch better. Not only waiting for more stable build, but I want GApps, I use OpenGApps. My shamu is my daily driver, I travel a lot, and I use it a lot so it's gotta be stable. Though I usually keep a copy of a good stable release build at all times in case I run into trouble and need to get things working fast. Most of my favorite devs are building Oreo for shamu so I'm sure there'll be some cool stuff happening in the next month or two. I can wait. I think Carbon ROM is building Oreo too and I'm also curious to see what OctOS might do.

I've checked before but I don't think there is one. It is like a continuation inside the 7.1.2 thread. Maybe because is still in the early stages of the development.

I've seen the custom aosp roms for the G6. Great work Devs but one thing is surprising, Has nobody tried fixing the major bugs? Camera and microphone. Those are major parts of a ROM and the LG G6 IMO hasn't had a fix since every custom rom was released. I'm not a Dev so I don't know how it's done but I feel the devs can give answers to this.
Devs, work extremely hard, to give support away for free, when THEY HAVE TIME.
Oreo is next on deck, be patient, or don't yourself.
Try Dirty Unicorn, it does not have the issues you speak of on the US997.

As custom ROMs only came out a couple of months before Oreo and with Oreo now being out then they won't fix any Nougat issues. My guess is that Oreo ROMs will get these issues fixed.

If you've seen how development for the G4 went, the initial custom rom releases had quite a few issues which were almost all fixed in the next version of android. So be patient.
I really prefer having less customization because the result in bad translation and bugs, is there any rom coming soon that will be completely stock android?

I tried previous build of this and haven't found any rom downloading this now.
I've actually found the last Arrow Oreo rom to be surprisingly stable and stock-like. It's what I imagine the device COULD have been like stock. I also dont like roms that veer too far from stock and this is what I've settled on.
Still can't beat stock battery life though. None of the customs can. Now that Oreo is out and the kernel has been made open source, I was really hoping we'd see something come out that was closer to the performance of stock, but it last I checked most efforts were on experimental Pie development rather than perfecting what we have.

Yeah, i like that one but i found some bugs and it has quite a lot of features that i don't really need
I would like a completely AOSP ROM with the sqiared QS/dialogs but guess we won't see one since there is no AOSP maintainrr for our device
Curious, what bugs did you find?
Mine has been been Rock solid, only issue I've had is the nav buttons don't rotate with the screen when in landscape. But I can live with that. Other features are that I didn't want (like tap to wake) you can disable. It feels stock to me, I can't imagine anything more basic than this that wouldn't be leaving something out.
