1080 and 720 sound on but when switch to 4k no sound. If connect headphones sound on headphones but not on tv. TV is Techwood 40AO2USB 40" Smart 4K Ultra HD TV.
Not having sound on a fancy TV, that sucks. Did you try to swaps ports on the TV?
My MOJO was doing that while on 1020p. It worked when I switched with another hdmi input.

Is it possibe to modify the sound output not to be routed to tv when hdmi is plugged into tablet? I have a 23" LCD that has an hdmi input, but doesn't have speakers built in or sound out. So when the tablet is plugged into this screen i have no sound, what i would like is to use the Dock speakers when i am plugged into this lcd.
That sounds like a bummer, I assumed they would let you route sound through the headphone Jack or something.
My TV has optical out but my monitors don't nor do they have speakers, I hope there is some solution cause I never intend to connect it to my TV anyway, that's what the PS3 is for.

I just used the TF for outputting HDMI to my TV and noticed that no sound outputs to my home theatre system.
When I plug the laptop to the HDMI port to view videos I get HDMI output, I'm wondering if there is some setting on the TF that I'm missing.
EDITED To ADD: The home theatre was messed up....my son hit the wrong button....all is well...
It outputs stereo, so depending on your stereo system you might have to set it in stereo mode.

Yeah, without the ability to decode DTS or AC3 streams, the TF won't output in true surround sound. It will just do stereo for now.
I updated my B60 U.S. Transformer with the Android 3.2 OTA update and decided to do some HDMI-output compatibility testing.
I used the following:

Here are my results:
Sony BRAVIA KDL-46Z4100 (1080p) - the 3.2 OTA update makes the Transformer work perfectly on this 1080p set. It changes its resolution to 1280x720, and then the BRAVIA picks up the 720p signal and displays the cloned output with no issues and no need to make any screen position adjustments on the HDTV side. No sound problems as the Transformer sends the audio output to the HDTV set speakers.
Sony BRAVIA KDL-40S300 (720p) - there is a an overscan display issue with this BRAVIA where a bit of each side is cut off on the HDTV. This BRAVIA doesn't have detailed enough controls to scale back the output display to make everything fit properly. It's not terrible, but it's not ideal looking either. No sound problems as the Transformer sends the audio output to the HDTV set speakers.
Westinghouse TX-42F430S (1080p) - the 3.2 OTA update makes the Transformer work perfectly on this 1080p set. It changes its resolution to 1280x720, and then the Westinghouse picks up the 720p signal and displays the cloned output with no issues and no need to make any screen position adjustments on the HDTV side. No sound problems as the Transformer sends the audio output to the HDTV set speakers.
Acer H233H (1080p) - the 3.2 OTA update makes the Transformer work perfectly on this 1080p LCD computer monitor. It changes its resolution to 1280x720, and then the Acer picks up the 720p signal and displays the cloned output with no issues and no need to make any screen position adjustments on the monitor side. No sound problems as the Transformer sends the audio output to the monitor's built-in speakers.
Sony VAIO VGC-RT150Y - this is actually a desktop all-in-one computer system that happens to have an HDMI input. The Transformer changes its resolution to 1280x720, and then the VAIO picks up the 720p signal and displays the cloned output centered on its 1920x1200 LCD panel. No sound problems as the Transformer sends the audio output to the computer's speakers.

I bought my 15-foot cable and the adapter some time ago before Monoprice started selling the straight cables that don't need adapters.
Anyway, I rarely connect anything with a mini- or micro-HDMI output, so it makes more sense for me to use standard HDMI (A) cables and then have adapters for when I need them.

On another note, you may have to upgrade the TV's firmware because the newer ones (from few years back already) with USB etc. should be upgradeable...
I had a HDMI to mini HDMI adaptor that I bought off ebay however it did not work. I tried it on several different TV's and different cables and a receiver. Due to time constraints I bought a new replacement adaptor from Jaycar - tried it out and worked on two different Panasonic TV's. There were some overscan issues but I didn't have time to confirm if that was just a setting on the TV. I travel a lot for work hence the adaptor is better - don't want to carry the whole cable. If I am in a hotel with a TV with HDMI there is a good chance it will have a HDMI cable plugged into it that I can use.
So after realizing that my MHL adapter doesn't work on the G2, I picked up a slimport adapter. It is hit or miss with it working. Here is what my results are:
Bedroom TV: Element (cheap Target brand) - video works at 480p but no audio
Livingroom TV: Relatively new Vizio from Costco - Nothing. No video/audio just like nothing is plugged in.
Son's Room TV: Unknown cheap brand from Amazon - Works perfectly 1080p with audio
Work Samsung computer monitor: Works perfectly 1080p with audio
I have tried a different brand of slimport adaptor and different HDMI cables. All witth he exact same results on all the TVs. So this leads me to think that there might be something wrong with the way the phone is talking to the TVs. Anyone else experience any problems with slimport or have any solutions?
In my tv no hdmi arc but support HDMI Audio out . what is the difference. And audio pass through missing after the update. Is any third party app for HDMI CEC for audio passthrough.
Are you saying your TV has a dedicated hdmi audio out? ARC stands for Audio Return Channel and it's the technology that can send audio through the same hdmi cable that is carrying video from a different source. In other words, you can pass video and audio to the tv, or the tv can pass audio back to the other device as well. This prevents the need from a second connection to pass audio from the TV when the TV is independently displaying content
