Has anyone else had an issue with their S7 edge with playing youtube videos? If I play a video in youtube in portrait mode all is fine but if I rotate to landscape all heck breaks out...
I get green pixelated blocks and and loud whine then it will have to reboot or reboot on its own. I've even factory reset and tried again... same issue. I am now sending it back for a new one. I made a poorly made video of it but can post as I am a new poster...

I haven't had that kind of issue. You did right by sending it in...my YouTube sometimes glitches when i put 2k quality. But usually going back in the video fixes it. So it's a BUG I don't know if it's googles side or samsung side

happened to me while watching youtube video on chrome... had to restart the phone
My YouTube video freezes and I can hear the sound playing still if anybody knows how to fix that I would appreciate it.
Me too.
Mine freezes also, had this same exact problem with my v10. Must be android or something to do with snapdragon

Same here. I can drag the progress bar a little bit to recover the video, but it will freeze again.

Thanx in advance for you time.
I just got my Imagio last weekend. I didn't flash it to any roms or anything yet, because I kind of like it like it is right now. The only thing is, I downloaded a movie in mp4 format and put it on my phone and here's what happens:
I play the movie. (It plays nicely.)
Something happens that I have to pause the movie. (Be it a call or knock at the door or what ever)
I come back to my phone and play the movie from where it left off.
But now, every 5 seconds almost exactly the navigation (Play, pause, stop, forward, etc) bar comes up as if I touched the screen.
It goes away and comes up again in 5 more seconds.
It does this through out the rest of the movie.
Any idea on how to stop this? (or maybe suggest a player I can download?)
I really didn't want to switch roms yet.
Thanks in advance to all da uba leet intel of the XDA Developers
try loading the video from file explorer and see if it does the same problem. that was my fix.
Results
Yes I tried it that way first then the other way (through the album tab) and still the same result.
It only does it if I ever pause it once. Then it (the navigation bar) comes up over and over all throughout the movie. =\
Thanx everyone for your time and answers. XD
Happens to me too. Hope someone comes up with a solution.
Same problem here. But when playing back video from the camera.. no problem.
what video framerate are your videos at. When my videos were at 25, this problem would happen.
when I set them to 15, it would be fine.
I am going to try a video at 24 and see if it still happens, will let you all know
This issue is just downright annoying. Has anyone come up with a solution as of yet?
I noticed it only happens with H-264 movies not with regular mp4 movies bitrate and framerate didnt really matter
any fix yet
any help
maybe a better wvga htc fullscreen player cab
any help updated roms have similar issues
Has anybody had a problem with their videos recorded on their camcorders not playing back? It records the video but when I stop it, it stops responding and then I press the home button to exit it and try to play the video and it doesn't open.
I tried sending the video to my brothers n900 through bluetooth and it works but it stutters towards the end.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? The camcorder was working fine when I got the phone.
I tried to do a hard reset which seemed to fix it until I installed the hotfix from HTCs website. It is again not working. When I'm recording I notice that the picture stutters randomly and when I stop the camcorder settings stop responding and videos cannot be played back.
Can someone please let me know if there is a fix for this?
I just found out the cause to my problem. I'm on T-Mobile and as you may know that they don't have the youtube app pre-installed on the device. I manually installed the app myself and it turns out that this was causing my camcorder to not work properly.
This was probably the reason why T-Mobile took the youtube app off the phone. Has anybody else had this problem? It annoying now that I cannot use youtube.
Hello
I have the exact same problem, it seems that the youtube client is the culprit indeed.
Here is a somewhat of a solution, when you want to playback your videos use coreplayer.
That is really useless.... rather than fix the problem T-Mobile just strip out YouTube... one of the key apps...
I also have had problems with video but had not realised that the Youtube client was the cause. Recording seems fine but as has been mention playback is necessary using for example Coreplayer... not ideal but at least it is an option.
Hello, i installed the Youtube app in miui rom, but when i see videos in HQ they are very choppy, it's like they freeze and unfreeze after 10 seconds.. How we can solve this?
My regards, Paul
I don't know about chopiness but i have a different and very disturbing problem with miui. If i play a video and i have my phone turned so that it plays full screen before pressing the play button, when it starts playing it looks like **** with green lines all over and i cant see a thing. If i start the video in portrait mode and after starting the video tilt it to landscape there is no problem at all.
It gets on my nerves though -.-'
My wife just reported to me that her phone just rebooted after high pitched noise while watching a video.
I saw similar report on Reddit, but there was no reply to it other than couple of people who just returned the phone and got a replacement.
Has anyone experienced it? She has been using the phone for a few days and it was the first time. i wonder whether her slow SD card was causing this issue, but I don't know. I never had experienced the reboot and I have over 200 hours of uptime (since the T-mobile pushed the update) on my GS7E.
Someone suspected the "active View" setting, but it was off on her phone.
I watched hours of video without any issues so just wondering whether this was a freak issue, or something that people have seen before.
Thanks.
Funny, my wife experienced this too while watching you tube. Happened only once and her phone has been fine since.

Happened to me yesterday, first I was using Tango to video conference with my Dad and all of a sudden, phone freezed up with a high pitch noise then rebooted itself. Tried it again and same thing after a couple minutes.
So I gave up and figured it was probably a glitch with the Tango app, went to watch some YouTube an hour later and same thing happened, loud high pitch sound, phone freezes and reboots. Hasn't happened again with YouTube but I'll keep an eye out, happens everytime though with the Tango video call within 2-3 minutes.

My wife was using MX Video player. I don't know whether it was using hardware or software decode mode though. (I don't know why on her phone, the app appear to default to software mode all the time - probably some setting I missed).
The same thing happened to me last night and today! Last night I was watching a < 30 min video on YouTube and it was at either 720p or 1080p, and today I was watching a Facebook video on Chrome that was probably 420p or less. Wtf is going on! Is my phone going to explode?? Lol no but seriously, if I did a full retail purchase on my phone, then who would I contact for an exchange? I bought my phone from Best Buy for the Verizon network but I am on a third party cell phone carrier.
same issue on youtube video - landscape
I just sent mine back as defective as every time I watched a YouTube in portrait it was fine, but when I rotated video to landscape it would pixelate green blocks and then loud beep and then reboot.
I'm new to posting so I can't post a link but:
I made a crappy video on Youtube but can't post link. should be able to find it ...search..........Samsung S7 edge Youtube landscape video problem
Hmm.. It is odd.. I was watching John Oliver You Tube video without any issues and I do watch using MX Player for hours without any issues.. So, maybe it is my wife's phone that may be having an issue.. Interesting.. I will have to see what Costco can do for me.
Just literally happened to be last night using mx player. I had to restart and it worked fine. I had been using mx player for prolly close to 25 hours so 1 hiccup isn't to bad.
Is this a Snapdragon issue? My Exynos version hasn't done anything weird (yet).

There's a big thread on this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/getting-random-restarts-reboots-t3327296
Mine just beeped super loud like an alarm after watching a youtube video. I hit the "back" button and the beeping stopped. Googled it and found this thread
Had this happen to me last week, a super loud high pitched car alarm type sound, i actually thought it wasnt my phone making the noise, i said to my mate, is that you!! he says no.
And yes, it was coming from the s7 edge speaker, thought it was impossible for a phone to make such a noise.
Rebooted the phone and it stopped making the noise.
Hi everyone,
I have a weird problem with my S8, indeed everytime I try to read a video with the Netflix's Amazon's video app, my phone kind of struggle and then only display black screen with only sound and then when I touch the screen he crash and the only way to make it work again is lock the screen and then unlock the phone. It works normally with Youtube. But I also noticed the problem with Molotov TV app which is a french TV app.
Anyone would have an explanation?
Thanks in advance.

Does this do the same with Google movies?
I had loading app issues with Netflix and Amazon video, plus Google movies won't load but wouldn't play movies. Like you YouTube worked fine. Only thing which fixed it was too restart the phone.
Had conversation with Samsung and everything they suggested didn't work. I eventually did a hard reset which fixed the issue. The only thing different since the reset I've done is not turn on video enhancer back on. I'm sure that might be the issue.

Nope it doesn't, guess I'll have to do 1 reset then ?.
Thank you?
Edit: it worked!
