After some days I’ve noticed one little but important thing : display doesn’t rotate if I rotate the phone… No apps, messages, settings, nothing.
I’ve looked for the auto rotation setting in Settings but I cannot find it. What’s wrong ?!
Hi
Do you re calibrate the sensors?

No, no, unuseful. Sorry, I've not updated this topic but I solved last week.
The problem was a widget of an app that disabled my autorotate setting :highfive:

Turn it on in your "accessibility" settings. I think that's where it is. Should be a setting for "auto rotate".
Or check the notification area for the rectangle with two semicircular arrows

just swipe down from the top to see your notifications. There is a toggle right there to unlock rotation.
I tried everything but still not responding !!!
Shall I return it or try to fix it ?

Try opening an app and see if it rotates in that.
Thing is, even when you unlock rotation, the home screens won't rotate - made me think it was faulty too when I first got mine. You need a third party launcher if you want home screens to rotate to landscape.
If even in apps it won't rotate, then maybe it's faulty.

Swipe down your notification bar, to the right of the date is a lock with two arrows circling it. Press that and the lock will change shape.
Now all apps that support it will change orientation, the home screen does NOT support this. To rotate the home screen you will need to download a new launcher from the play store.
Test that rotation is working with a stock app like YouTube, not all third party apps are coded to rotate.

I opened all apps and still not responding !!
I did rest factory ,.. nothing change
I recommend Apex or Nova for a launcher. I am partial to Nova right now but both of them are top notch. Everything rotates beautifully now. Make sure to do what they said and also don't forget to check in the launcher settings as there is an option there too.
Cheers!
Thanks for responds !!
But it still not working , I'm going to return it back
Autorotation was working just fine until today. Now it's locked in portrait. I have it set to autorotate in my launcher (Nova Launcher) and the icon in the status bar is unlocked. And, I'm rooted.
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: Seems it's not a complete loss of autorotation. However, it does take about 15-25 seconds to autorotate. I'm certain it didn't take that long when I first got it.
I am still stock, unrooted.. running Nova and Apex launchers (betas), and recently I started thinking my auto rotation isn't responding as well. Not just on the home screens but overall. It just seems less sensitive. It seems like I have to be at a 90 degree angle for the rotate to happen and before it didn't seem that extreme. Before I thought it was taking a while to rotate (not as long as yours) but then realized I just had to tilt it more extreme than I thought. Not sure if I'm just crazy or if something is actually different...

Shortly before I read this, I discovered the same thing you did--that if I angled the N7 in towards me, autorotation was activated. WHY it came to be like this is a mystery. And, how to restore it to "normal" is even a greater riddle.

Try Ultimate Rotation Control in the app store...set it to auto and u should be good...its a free 7-day trial and after that its a paid app but at least u get to see if it works for what u need and later u can decide to buy or not

Home screen autorotate
Hello, my problem is the home screens won't rotate no matter what I do. The display is set to auto rotate and it works fine for everything else, just not the home screens. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.

Are you using the default, stock launcher? If so it doesn't support rotating even when auto rotate is enabled. You have to install another home replacement, such as Nova or Apex.
Thanks!

This is just what I was looking for - Thank you!!
BTW, it is curious that my Moto Xoom home screens rotate fine and it is running Android 4.1.1 as well.
Cheers!
The mystery has been solved. Turned out to be the LCD density set to other than default. I reset it to 213 and all is well.

That wasn't the case for me. I'm unrooted and have never changed my LCD density. However, I did just try downloading the compass app and did the "figure 8" calibration and that seemed to put things back to normal in terms of auto rotation responsiveness.
I'm just running in here. I noticed someone mention that the home screen does not auto rotate. This is a feature of the nexus 7. There is a fully free app called Rotation Locker that works great, even though the widget is broken. For the nexus 7, when you get it, launch the app and longpress on the option you want.
Also nearly all devices have to have their sensors recalibrated from time to time. So it should not be a big deal for anybody to download a compass app or the highly useful app Android System Information, and use the settings there to calibrate all of the various sensors. It also recommend this app widget to see battery, and storage information - even if the app is very much not customizable.

Hi
I have a problem with rotate screen.
I installed wannam and gravity box xposed modules. I activated that can rotate on lock screen and (in other menu) want to rotate in any direction, also inverted.
I think it was at that moment but I am not 100% sure.
I tried to disable all xposed modules, but the problem is still there.
Before to factory reset... What can I do?
Thanks

Yes some of them. Why?
I saw that autorotate only works on camera apps, not only samsung's camera app, also works on procapture or evernote camera.
But no other app on my phone autorotate

Because the landscape mode is connected to Samsung Hub, and when you uninstall it, the function doesn't work anymore.

Hi all -
My recently rooted S4 is running stock 4.4.2, and is set to auto-rotate in settings. However, the screen will not rotate in any app. Any ideas ?
Many thanks!
Have you installed any third party apps for modifying settings? Like xposed framework with either gravity box or wanam xposed?
On some roms you can disable its ability to rotate certain directions. Maybe you disabled all the directions so even though auto rotate is on it won't rotate?
Thanks guys - no on both counts. ..
Have resolved the issue with the Adaptive Rotation Lock app. Still don't know what caused it though.

Hey I have the same problem I'm rooted on 4.4.2 and have no custom roms or any xposed modules
I have a problem with the apps not going fullscreen when I enable that option in settings. The only way too have the apps in fullscreen is by enabling gestures. I'm using nova launcher but it's the same thing with Samsung launcher.

You need to go into settings /display / full screen apps and enable each one you want.
You need to take it off auto.
Already said that I've tried that and it doesn't work.

You said you enabled it in settings, that is vague as you can enable it in settings yet you still have to take it off of auto on each individual application.
It's working fine for you? I think I need to do a reset.

I did reset but still not working. Also edge lighting doesn't work. Maybe the phone is faulty? What can I do?
Went to a shop that was displaying the S10+ and tried to see if it's working but it's the same.
