SM-G900i use with AT&T

Hello all, i have a question regarding an Australian Telstra Galaxy S5 with att service. the phone works with voice and text but has no data or mms. i have added an apn from my sim card in a galaxy nexus that gets me edge service. i have found band selection in the service menu but non seem to make it any better. I'm sure LTE won't work but thats ok. as long as i can get 3g at least. do i need to flash say the att s5 modems? if so how? i have the modem file and another already extracted from the att firmware. thanks in advance.
Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900i branded telstra
i think firmware ANE1 4.4.2

Using a foreign handset on a system will never give you perfect coverage. That is by design, as both Samsung and carriers want to lock you in, not make it easy for you to change carriers. Or do so without buying a new phone.
The specs for your variant suggest that it has full coverage on ATT's 3G bands and partial coverage of their LTE allocations. You don't need an ATT modem, just make sure that your firmware is recent - which it will be by definition, as the S5 was only released a few months ago.
Unfortunately you didn't provide much detail, in particular whether you were roaming or a regular ATT customer. Things that you might check in general, that your phone doesn't blacklist any ATT MCCs (roaming restrictions). That you have the correct APN information and that your ATT SIM is properly provisioned for LTE.
.
Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. In service menu, I was picking compatible gsm bands. Back to network screen in settings, had it on gsm/lte only. That was giving me edge. Read more into wcdma and used network mode wcdma/gsm. That gives me H or H+. I know I won't get lte but with that network mode and another apn, I'm satisfied with the end results.
It sounds like you inadvertently blocked coverage with your previous settings. The default setting is automatic band select which should have worked fine.
Glad you figured it out in the end.
.
Yeah. It was the apn that was hurting me. Default it used the wap.cingular apn. I put my sim in a galaxy nexus and used the apn that gave me. Plus changing network mode. Thanks though!

G900A unlocked and on T-Mobile will not roam

I have a galaxy s5 G900A that I had unlocked and I put a tmobile sim card in it. Anytime I am outside of tmobile service my phone will show that I have bars but I can't use voice text or data. I try to connect to at&t or Verizon's network to roam and it won't connect. Is there something I missed when unlocking that will allow my sim to roam on another network? Or is this something tmobile is doing wrong on thier end? My girlfriends galaxy s4 has the same problem.

G900P unlocked but can't get T-mobile data

I got my SM-G900P phone Internationally and Domestically unlocked, and while I can get voice to work on a T-mobile sim, I am unable to get data to work.
I'm currently on the stock Sprint 5.0 rom, I have also rooted the device.
I have also added the T-mobile APN, and have the network set to T-mobile, but still no luck
I'm not sure what I should do to get the mobile data to work.
Wondering if I flash a T-mobile rom, would that brick the phone? And would that unlock the bands?
Any and all help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
bump for some help
I know Sprint operates on CDMA while T-Mobile uses GSM technology.
I don't know if the G900P has the hardware capabilities to operate on GSM LTE bands. But it is interesting that you got the voice to work!
Try this page. He had a Verizon (CDMA) phone and got it to work on the AT&T (GSM) network. So apparently it is possible, and your situation is similar in trying to use a cdma phone on a gsm network.

Thanks for the link!
I already had tried what he did previously, adding the APN, sadly that didn't work for me . And once I had unlocked the phone I enabled GSF and got the voice to work. But sadly that's the farthest I've gotten

Exynos temporarily working on Verizon wireless (935F)

Rooted superman 935F.
Okay. We all know Verizon is a CDMA carrier. However this phone does support the LTE bands. I put my Verizon wireless Sim in from 935U to 935F and I HAD data and was able to run a couple of speed tests and even hotspot for about 5 minutes then boom, I was kicked off the network.
So these bastards check whitelisted imei then blocked it LTE discovery giving error but was still "connected" and in service.
So... Is there a way to flash IMEI from 935U to 935F, and 2 incorporate elements of VOLTE from the 935U into the ROM and get it working. Technically it's "possible" but Verizon obviously doesn't want us to do this. Any developers have any ideas if we could pull this off I could finally get rid of tmaybie.
Why not using 935U?

Issues with LTE on Unlocked Sprint Note 4

Hi all,
I've been having a Sprint Galaxy Note 4 that is unlocked. I bought it unlocked already. My mobile service provider is T-Mobile. I have an unlimited plan with them. The issue is that the Note cannot connect to LTE network. The only option available for me to access the internet on the go is the GSM/UMTS option under the network mode settings. Using this option my phone can only connect to a 3g service that is painfully slow. If I try selecting the CDMA or LTE/CDMA option under the network mode settings the Note will not get any service at all as if there was no sim card inside of the phone. Therefore I can only use the GSM/UMTS option. Is there a fix for this or am I stuck with 3g service on this phone? Please ask me questions if you have any that will help me get to a fix. Thanks :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I believe the LTE bands in sprint CDMA/VERIZON CDMA are different. they are not compatible with T-mobile because T-mobile required completely different LTE bands and they are locked in sprint phones and they cannot be unlocked.
If you have N910V/N910P You will only get HSPA/HSPA+ 3G/3.5G with T-MOBILE/AT&T network.
My best suggestions will be you can swap your sprint with T-mobile note 4 because N910T has more LTE bands unlocked then any other note 4 models actually more bands then international models too.
