Hello guys,
I'm using Android 5.1.1 stock on my Nexus 10 and the last year it really takes very long to full charge the Nexus 10. It takes like 24 till 30 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. I'm using the charger shipped with the Nexus 10 and tried like 5 other chargers (Tried my Galaxy S6 charger too) but the problem still exists.
Any ideas?
Try the magnetic Pogo charger..
Sadly it is not possible for me to buy it in the Netherlands or ship to the Netherlands
Try a different cable. I had problems with slow charging or not fully charging I later found was the cable not the charger.

Have you tried charging the note with the Nexus 10 charger?
No but since u brought it up, I'm on it lol

I'm able to play on my nexus 10 and its charging still gaining juice however it slows it down some on gain .its acting like my galaxytab 10.1 which I didn't have problems with

Oh and another thing ,I don't use Google currents anymore either .its nice but I had on my old phones and THAT APP IS A BATTERY SUCKER FROM HELL !

OK some research ...
1.the charger is fine that comes with the nexus! It charges average. Roughly 6 -7 hours to a full charge
2. Note 2 charger is about the same with nexus charger with charging time. Maybe barely faster!
3. With original charger: I'm easily ,constently on my nexus playing videos, downloading, browsing, etc!its not hurting my charge and not decreasing any charge time. I wanna say its partial blame to a certain app called GOOGLE CURRENTS! Without disabling it, constantly runs background and killing battery. Have GPS on google maps constantly running background killing some juice.
4.nfc turned off as I wouldn't use it. I'm sure this is helping my battery
I did just get my nexus 32 gig on the second batch when they became available again on google play. Could there be a bad 1st batch considering the stuff I'm reading on complaints ,possibly. I can only compare my old galaxy tab 10.1 wifi 32 gig to my new nexus and both battery charge times about on par with each other. Galaxy tab edges out barely on time and lasting juice.
Take my observations for what it worth ...just my experience with this tab

I am just using my note 2 charger. Before I did I made sure the ratings were the same so I knew there were identical. I once tried charging my note 2 with an older charger and it was SLOW.
I've only charged the N10 once but my time from around 2% to fully charged was consistent with what had been reported as normal here.
So do the chargers for the Nexus 10 and the Galaxy Note II have the same ratings\amperage output? The reason I ask is that I have a UK Note II charger but a US Nexus 10 charger and here in Ireland the UK one works without having to go out and buy an extra adapter. I would ideally like to use the Note II charger to charge the Nexus 10 without having to go an pay for an adapter, I would rather spend the money on a nice case for the Nexus 10
Cheers,
M

Look at the Amp rating on note ii charger.
If it's 5v 2A, it's the same thing, and will charge nexus 10 equally. If it's less, it's slower.

Thanks dude, it's exactly the same Amp rating as what is on the Nexus 10 charging block so it looks like this is what I will use going forward! Could not be arsed spending money on a European plug adapter when I could spend it on a Pogo charger
All the best,
M
Anyone has any heating isuse using note 2 charger on nexus 10? Top left near camera... I didn't use the tablet... just place there and charge...

Past 2 days my Nexus 4 is not charging via Car Charger, i have original Samsung Charger, i also have USB port. i tried the USB cable i receievd with Nexus 4 from LG. No Luck, i can only charge my Nexus 4 at home.
I checked my usb lead and Samsung Car Charger to charge my Backup phone Galaxy mini, it works fine. Gaalaxy mini charges but not my Nexus 4.
I was thinking it might be an issue from CM Kernel. i recently installed CM10.1 nightly 13/3/2013 it was working fine before going custom rom. I have used every single custom roms in the past, i had no problem with charging anywhere before.
so i returned back to stock today and it is the same not charging.
I can only charge at home, but i use it alot and i need to keep it on charge in the car too.
Help pls thank you
Lower amp car chargers can't charge the Nexus4 faster than it discharges. I have a 2 Amp charger that works.
Having the screen on full brigthness while using GPS drains the phone really fast!
Does your Nexus4 not charge at all or does it charge slower than it drains?
It might be the kernel, I am using a Samsung galaxy S3 usb cable with a usb port car charger and I do not have any problems charging my N4. I am on Baked ROM and Franco kernel.
it has nothing to do with my car chager cuz it was working fine before.

i did not have any problems before using the CM
as soon as i flashed CM10.1, this problem started. i changed back to stock and still same problem
I'm also having problems with charging my Nexus 4 in the car. I have charged my N4 everyday going to work for the last 3 months. But last week it stopped working I'm also running CM 10.1 nightlies since day one if that has any importance.
The car charger works with my old Nexus One
I have bought another car charger that works(verified with N1), but doesn't charge my N4. Both chargers support 1 Ampere.
I can charge my N4 with AC-adapters
I can also charge the N4 connected to my computer using USB.
Any ideas?
bumping this. any solutions? same boat here
I have same isdue, but not all the time. I noticed my N4 stops charging with my car charger, the original charger and the wireless charger when it comes too hot. (after playing a game for example)
The only way I found to make it charges again is waiting for it to get cooler and then replug the charger. I think it might be an hardware security that stops the charge when the battery is too hot because when my N4 has a normal temperature it charges normaly evdn on my 1A car charger
BIG bump here!! My N4 stopped charging in my car randomly around when 4.3 came out....!! Any ideas what's up?!? Annoooying......!
Just in case I drive a 2010 Prius.... Worked fine since the N4 was first released.

Hello guys, I use the original charger that is the nexus 7 5v 2a and yet the battery takes around 9 hours to charge, I have another charger 5v 2a and also has this delay to load, am I in trouble with battery ? I use the original rom android 4.3.
9hrs!? Oh man. Usually it takes around 2.5 hours max for me. Did you try charging with any other charger? May be your charger's output is low?

It takes about 8 hours to charge. I use the original charger that I come to is 5V and 2A. I have another charger and 5V 2A and takes the same. The problem is not the charger I'm sure.

Is your cable the original one?, after it charges how long does the battery lasts. My charger went bad (got wet) now I use the charger of my sons nexus 7. Charges the nexus in less than 3 hours.

Yes, cable original.
I'm guessing battery then. I charge our N7 with whatever charger I see first and 3 hours tops...any rom any charger.

Honestly I don't think it's the battery. I've had this problem myself before (Not quite 9 hrs but close). For me it was either a short in my cable and a new cable will fix this problem or simply rebooting your nexus 7 might fix it. Sometimes their are processes running in the background while it's charging (such as syncing Facebook or to Google) that will burn more energy than it has coming from the charger. I'd try to restart and then see how long it takes to charge. If this doesn't help then try charging it while it's off and check on it after 3 hrs (since it's the usual full charge time). If neither of these fix the problem then try replacing the cord and if none of it works it might be your battery after all but I'd try these tips before looking into a battery replacement. Hope this helps!

My note 3 use to charge pretty fast, but over the past few days I noticed it takes a long time to charge when plugged into the wall. My n2 was on 5% and within 40 mins it was up to 85%..i did root it and a few other things..does anyone else have this problem lately? I have searched and only found one thing, his problem was with a mac..

Are you using the original Note 3 charger? If I reuse my Note 2 charger which is close in specs at 2A 5V it does a super slow trickle charge that's way slower than even a Samsung 0.7A 5V charger. No issues with the original Note 3 charger so far.
If you have the time, a slow charge is always better.

For the other guy/discussion.
When you use the note3 charger, take a look in the battery status, do you see USB or AC ?
If USB try to wipe the cache. (power up the phone with power + volume up + menu button)

hey p2o8wer, I think I was the other guy you were referring to haha. I had the same problem but it went away after I unrooted. The note 3 charges super fast when plugged to the wall outlet (1-2 hrs from 20 to 100% i think) using the provided charger now. I also don't use the phone while its charging. Hope this helps.
I bought the nexus 10 a few weeks ago. I know it takes a long time to charge. I noticed when charging my galaxy note 2 with 0 lemon battery it is a 9300 mah, when I plugged it into the Samsung charger it charges 20% in 30 minutes so why doesn't the Nexus 10 charge like that when I use my samsung charger and it has a slightly smaller battery. I love the table I just hate the charging time. I did order pogo cable so I am waiting on that.

Buying the pogo plug was your best and only option to address this issue. No one knows why Google switched from releasing the N10 with a pogo charging cable, at the last minute, which I read a long time ago. I suspect it had something to do with the Android kernel not being able to charge through the pogo connector at the same time as the micro USB connector is being used. It may also be that other Android tablet manufactures resisted this new connection type. To this day the audio/video capabilities of the the pogo connector goes untapped by even custom ROMs.

I don't understand why Google makes a great product but does not have the forsight to address issues that the engineers know of at the time of a tablet release. The pogo charger and a kernel that would let the tablet charge faster would be a huge for them to keep the nexus 10 going longer into production. I don't mind that the tablet only gets 6-7 hours screen time with surfing the web or watching movies and about 10 hours with the cpu throttle back dimmer to 50 percent and wifi off when reading a book. I just hate the charging time, it should just charge faster lol. My Samsung galaxy note 2 charges faster with a bigger battery and that kills me lol it does not make sense.
Thanks for the reply.
Joe
