S7 Edge low benchmark score/and gaming performance - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello everyone! Got S7 edge 1 week ago and used the ordinary benchmarks to see the numbers, and i feel its pretty bad compared to what i see from other devices and compared to other s7 edge devices.. it almost pass 130k on antutu and the 3d perfomance its bad, almost every game i try it lags a bit. Does anyone know that's going on?
I got EU version with Exynos.
Thank you in advance

and their Gpu Score is so higher than mine and i feel thats why my device lagging at games..
mine at 3d [garden] is 17500 and at 3d[Marooned] 22927 and at the other s7 edge are 3d [garden] 23484 and 3d[Marooned] 33831

Sd820 model scores better on 3d. But your antutu score is normal. Some say they have bad gaming performance on both sd820 and exynos..I'm not seeing it on mine but maybe it's there?! Either way, there is no game that even remotely stresses the GPU on both models yet so it's most likely a SW issue which they will fix in the future.

3k score difference is nothing to worry about. If it was 10-20k I would be concerned.

I got 90k for my S7 Edge S820 Version.

I notice some fps drops on some games. Even on FB messenger basketball gaming, it is lagging

Ohh thnx for ur answer! I see its about cpus the difference on antutu.. what version do u have? And what games u play? I wanna check them to mine

Dont worry about your benchmarks, antutu sucks anyway it's the least consistent benchmark program ever and have unexplained high and low scores on phones. I'm on exynos. Have been trying angry birds 2, epic war 2td and unskilled with no issues.

Heat. Heat is what effects it the most. Try this, throw your phone in the fridge for 10 minutes and then benchmark. See what it scores then.

Some games run awesome and others run like crap. I think it may be optimization issues. Asphalt 8, Clash Royal and Trials Frontier run awesome with zero lag yet Hearthstone has lag all over the place.

I restarted my cellphone and waited for it to cool down (temp), i made it to 120k.
I am still not happy with it, S820 needs some serious optimization with the android 6.0.x. It's slow and lags a lot.

I'm using the Exynox version with no lags whatsoever. All games are running pretty fine. And RAM management is top scoring.
I don't know what happened to OP. You might wanna ping the service centre as there might be some faulty units sold and your's might be one of them.

It could be a indication that the SGS2 SW is pretty old.

The tablet benchmark is pretty impressive. Even with its higher resolution, it beats tegra. Hopefully the performance will reflect on the Galaxy S 2.
Impressive benchmark. I didn't know about GPU Exynos is good.
But battery draining is less maybe!

Nice to see a tuned LG getting hi bench.
Real question is, what will the SGS2 get when it;s tuned.
Or what will the 2 devices straight out the box score (as most consumers will use it that way).
These benchmarks are for the e-penis , what counts how fast it feels , how it feels in the hand , how the ui is , how the sound is , how the camera is and what it can run smoothly and countless other things.
Still a good result for the sgs2 though , big quadrant scores and all stock. We all how Quadrant can drastically change with lil changes.

Good 14min summary of the phone. Much like every other S3 video. Does two benchmarks at the end.
Speed test gives ~21mb down and ~11 up.
quadrant was blazing fast during the benchmark. Scored 5099, beating everything in the market.

I have the international quad core version. Benchmark around 5200 - 5400 everyttime. The advantage comes from mostly the cpu score where all cores are used. However apart from benchmarks, I never saw more than 2 cores being used.

It has suddenly become the worse benchmark because somehow the dual core s4 can keep up with the tegra 3 and not far off exynos 4. People like to see benchmarks that's plays to their devices advantages. Antutu has become the new favorite as it scales well to four cores and not that critical of tegra 3 and exynos lack of memory bandwidth/ IO performance against krait. However in realworld usage I would say even quadrant paints an over optimistic idea of actual performance for quad core devices. Despite similar quadrant scores, multiple users who have both commented on faster and more fluid experience on the krait chip.

Why do people argue over benchmarks? Both the s4 and exynos are fast and fluid and won't go wrong with either.

Pop up video doesnt lag on my quad core version. However i am experiencing out of memory home screen restarts and browser crashed when opening too many tabs with flash enabled. My music player also auto quits sometimes when open up a new tab in browser or using any other memory hungry apps. Very annoying.
I have noticed using TouchWiz/Apex was causing the phone to lag a lot. I switched to Nova and the experience is smooth as silk. No freezing or ram issues yet, and i normally have 20 tabs open on Opera Mini + Music playing and whatsapp + email + gtalk+ wordfeud + a calendar widget + Gtasks widget
Opera Mini does its own memory management tho, clears pages once in a while, but not often.

He had used the phone for over 8 hours before filming and the battery was at 40%. Looks like a strong battery, should definitely last as long as other phones.

So i guess, both the International version owners and the N American version owners have something to look forward to when Samsung actually releases the next generation Exynos. Maybe then, the phone will truly be Universal (same internals/user experience).

[Q] Benchmark extremely low?

No matter how i try i usually get 12k on AnTuTu
my highest was 14k
Im lower than HoX and in the chart Nexus 4 shows 18k...
Anyone knows why mine is that much lower?
Is this a defect or what?
Some guy says ignore it benchmarks mean nothing but its not like im just a little bit lower...
It is 4-6k difference :S
Isn't that strange considering other people with the same device score 18k?

Is your phone laging, running slower other then the benchmarks? Also we need more info like what kernel/rom are you running.
What ROM/kernel are you running, what temperature was your phone at? Is there any apps running in background?
If a freshly installed stock ROM, with only AnTuTu installed, and you score 30% less than other Nexus 4 in benchmarking, then yes, there is a reason to worry about
Edit: for the record, I tried AnTuTu when I just got my N4, and always scored lower than their reference N4.
Sent from my Nexus 4 in a Faraday cage
I tried on these setups:
Stock with stock kernel
Stock with faux kernel
AOKP with included kernel
i just tried again with a fresh install of stock and scored 14,5k
well its still 3,5k difference what can I do about that any idea?
edit: basically what im worried about is that the only scores i see around my score are people with severely underclocked devices (600 MHz, 700 MHz)
seems like im the only one :S

if they dont mean anything then why do they exist?
I'm not worried about scoring low, I'm worried about scoring considerably lower than the exact same device.
There must somehow be a reason for it I guess?

Even Chainfire makes benchmark app. I would love to see how you tell Chainfire that his app means nothing. That would make a really interesting conversation with lots of good stuffs to learn
From my point of view, benchmark does not tell real world performance, however it is a wildly used, totally valid tool to compare *hardware* performance. After all, benchmarking (or hardware profilling, to be precise) is what separate a 1.2GHz CPU from a 1.5GHz CPU of identical architecture, isn't it? I'll take the 1.5GHz one even if it means nothing from your point of view
Sent from my Nexus 4 in a Faraday cage
I always get around mid to high 17k, sometimes 18... bone stock... Your situation is interesting to say the least...
I see the note II with 24k despite the fact it has quad A9s... This is why you should ignore the benchmarks.

Sounds like you may be thermal throttling. As a test, out your phone in a zip lock bag in the freezer for 10 minutes and then repeat the benchmark.

Hello , i am using the exyynos variant of the s7 edge. When i benchmark it i get a score of 105000 on average.
But the other s7 edge variants get a score of 138000. which is a big differance. Does anyone know y this is happening.

Be sure you bench the phone from a cold state as the score will drop big time if it's heated. Also the lag should go away in two weeks.
turn off all power saving options and other features present in nougat
also, whisper in its ear when you start the benchmark from cold...
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
It's normal. I get lower score in Antutu Benchmark every device I use like Note 2, Note Edge, S7 Edge. There are too many reasons for that, first is heat. Number of installed app, cache, thumbnails, Whatsapp Files and SD Card fullness are other things to effect Antutu score.
(Antutu Average Score is calculate in best conditions, I mean, it's just theorotical score, not pratically. So, you don't need to think about getting lower score on Antutu )
Like everyone said, you should bench from cold state. Also delete every app running in backround. :good:
like it matters... the overall performance is the most important and I addume you're happy with S7 speed.
life is too short to worry about benchmarks

Simply put you are comparing apple to oranges. The Huwaei phone does not have any Google services so not all things can be considered equal here.
Until the Huweai is a real Android phone with Google services than this comparison is null and void.
EDIT: Also, Huweai has been caught doing unscrupulous things before. So gaming the benchmark system would not at all surprise me.
S20 ultra results doesn't make sense to me. You can download an app called androbench to test the storage speed. This is my score from Exynos S20U 5G
I don't put much stock in Benchmarks (particularly Antutu) it really doesn't give you anything - the best way to test a phone is using the phone and feeling how it works - how fast it is - how smooth - etc....
having said that, for grins and giggles I ran Antutu on my S20Ultra and the results were totally different from the video - so, take that video with a grain of salt....on any Benchmark Test - YMMV...

Huge difference to your score. I know benchmarks aren't everything but still...
Does the Snapdragon version heat up? Even just opening the camera for a while I start feeling the phone just a bit warm next to the camera (the processor location)
Was wondering if the SD has the same issue.
I'm considering returning the exynos and import the SD version from Korea or Hong Kong

Just do a search on Samsung Community Forums or on Google and you will find the Exynos s20s run hot! This being just from basic tasks. Samsung really blew it this time with their Exynos chipset. Only way they can fix this is by throttling in a future update which would make the Chipset even slower than it is now vs the Snapdragon. The Snapdragons are much cooler and battery life is fantastic.
If you want to compare performance I'll run 3dmark and you do the same on yours. Exynos vs Snapdragon.

I have never had any heat issues - playing games it might get slightly warm, but that could be because I am holding it close in my hands and my hands are warm, if you know what I mean....I love this phone - it is the beast it was expected to be - original camera issues (focus problems) seem to be better - maybe not perfect but definately better - I am very happy with this phone....hope you can work things out so you are too - good luck.

I'm not saying I'm not happy, but I open the camera for 5 minutes and CPU goes to 65°C +, it's insane. The performance is great, but no "ultra" like the Snapdragon version
I love this phone, but it's like loving a Ferrari with a Fiat Punto engine! The design is amazing, the screen and etc. But I feel like I'm being ripped off by paying 10% more for a phone that's 10% worse.
