Samsung galaxy s6 edge + issues when texting iphone users. - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok so there is a bug i have noticed on 2 phones both are galaxy s edge plus from tmobile.. i noticed when im trying to text someone who has an iphone(couple of my friends) when typing the keyboard kind of gets stuck(lag) and takes a second to come back to normal and it keeps getting stuck /or has a delay when typing. note this only happensa when i text people with iphones... any ideas how to solve this? i tried clearing cache and also did master reset on both phones ansd problem still there. i also change y sim card to a new onne . but problem still there.. both phones are up to date as far as software.

You do realize, that your phone doesn't know what phone model is on the other side, nor does it care?
Install another keyboard, like Swiftkey or TouchPal, and try it, than come back here to let us know.

we shouldnt have to do this to make things work perfectly. this is a bug..

and i know my phone dosnt know aht othet phone is on the other person im texting lol . thats what i said this only happen when i text people using an iphone.. cause the rest of people i text have androiids and notbing like this happens.

Am i drunk or are you saying that when you are writing a message (before you send it) to an iphone contact, your keyboard becomes laggy??? So if that person puts her/his sim card in other phone that doesn't happen?????? Are you f%$& serious??? Maybe you have a long history of texting to that person in your phone so that's why it's laggy, no?

idk about the sim card put in anothet phone. all im saying is anyone who has an iphone and if i text them the keyboard getd stuck for about a second. it dosnt have to be my contacts...

have you tried another keyboard as I mentioned ?

i havent tried.ankther keyboard but i will. anyways this shouldnt ne hapening. ita not the keyboard that get stucll is the whole phone.

Exactly. People waste our time by posting this stuff. Obviously he doesn't know anything about phones. People need to stop complaining and posting stuff like this.

Preach!

trust me i know about phones rooting/ etc how everything works lol im justbhavibg this issue currently and maybe someone one is your comment is useless.

Let's make this easy: ask any your friends with iphone's to put their sim in a android phone and try message him/her
PS : Ask them to change the sim to an android before you start texting LoooooooooL

My friend you know that your phone can't know it's about to text a certain kind of phone. It must be that you text people with Iphones more often and the thread of texts is really long or contains MMS more so than others you text. completely delete the text threads and start over with a brand new text and see what happens

Info for slow people like me

I've been pretty frustrated with my titan recently. The number one thing that I have had problems with is text messaging. It was just so laggy, I couldn't type a simple sentence with the hardware keyboard without having to go back and edit a bunch of misspelled words. I tried flashing to different roms to see if it was a software problem, and on a fresh rom it was faster but after using it a while it became laggy once again. So I tried the new speedbooster2.0 software that was recently posted in development and hacking forum, and it seemed to help but not enough. Still a terrible lag that frustrated me to no end. I text ALL the time, more than I talk on the phone. My girl and I probably send over a hundred texts a day, so this problem was having me thinking drastically like, just getting a new phone. Texting is my #1 purpose of my phone.
Then all of a sudden today it dawned on me that I could disable word suggestions. I tried that and guess what... Completely fixed the problem!
So if anybody else is as slow mentally as I am, this info will be helpful. Otherwise this is just a good story to laugh at.
very nice...i've seen it before...happened to me...
i didn't know how i fixed it
probably loaded a new rom...

Do you want a official SMS Fix?

Hoi Pipeloi my fellow HD2 and other HTC owners
This is not just a poll its kind of a petition for the official SMS bug Fix
that HTC "wont" try to Fix...
The bug only shows up when you have 20+ smses of one or more contacts. Sense reloads these smses for no reason en slows down the device.
you can do a little trick for a faster load but that wil not help mutch : when you open contacts smses press send and there wil be a popup just press no and voila all smses are quickly reloaded...
Vote: Yes please HTC please...!
Vote: Pfff never mind... my next device will not be a HTC Phone...
Vote: I dont care...
If this Poll has over 1000 or more votes i wil send it to HTC
and lets see what thy gonna say then
Probably will do similar thread about HTC give everyone a free HD2 Device.
With the same result.

and i want an awsome windows mobile sms app, the standard winmo one gets boring and htc messaging suxx too :/
Just to clarify the only issue I have with SMS and writting in general is that damn ghosts typing where every button on the keypad randomly gets pressed. Even more annoying when you have swype!
Is this what you are referring to?
mine is ok, but I voted for those with issues

well i don't have that problem... you my try this for the gost typing
the fix we want is for when you gonna type a sms the prev smses are reloaded and therefor slowing down the reaction time of the keyboard..
Oh I see. I had that with my previous decide so I took it back and threatened to cancel the contract, the next one did the same thing so I gave them one last chance. Its now all ok.
I still join you in your pain though and voted.
Thanks for the link I'll check it out now
Yes indeed. I truly hope they are going to fix this SMS issue.
I voted yes and did call HTC about this problem and did mention to them that i am not the only one with this issue. They told me we don't care what message boards have to say lol
Well i hope they still do something about this
I'm in! This has got to be fixed FAST!

Ok thx -- its done
I'm not sure if this will help, but when I flashed the official O2 Rom 1.72.206.3 a few days ago, the sms delay problem seemed to have dissapeared. I tried two contacts that have threads of around 100 sms messages with no delay at all.
I'm using the new O2 ROM (1.72.206.3) aside from it being absolute CRAP the SMS issue still persists. Among other things, which are much more annoying, like the constantly skipping music (even with hot-fix), but nothing more annoying than my phone locking up and belching out its load ass ring-tone while vibrating it's self to pieces if I don't pick up fast enough, which obviously requires me to remove the battery, something I have to do at least once a day.
I'm still using a stock ROM because I'm debating my next move, which is likely to be that O2 are going to get this phone shoved up their ass.
I'm tired of this device, I'm also tired of watching my old iPhone 3G (which my wife now has) working flawlessly, like it did for me. I'm also still puzzled to why I made the decision to get a HTC HD2 when the iPhone 3GS would have solved all my gripes with the original iPhone 3G (being slightly slow).
Rant over!

Perhaps you've got a lemon Phil and you need to bring it back to O2. I'm using the same device with the same rom and the same hotfixes. I have zero lag on my sms messages no matter how long the thread and my music plays fine. I think your other problems may be down to settings and tweaks which is something WM users need to get used to (although most, like myself, enjoy the tweaking very much). My wife is happy with her iphone 3GS too, but I think the HD2 is far superior for my needs. I'm not trying to start an HD2/iphone debate, there are already too many on the forums, I'm just saying that given a propper device with the propper tweaks and mods, you've got one envyable phone there.
You guys who don't have this problem, what ROM and radio do you have?

HD2 - its a love hate relationship but its getting too much

I have learnt to live with the HD2's quirks the lag when loading texts, the twitter app that still doent work properly the poor battery life and texts that dont reach threre recipients for hours. I have learnt how to flash roms and thanks to miri some of the problems are much better and the phone genreally performs much better than on a stock ROM but i draw the line at this .....
I sent 2 texts to a friend (friend A) of mine this morning and a totally different friend (friend B) recieved them. My phone says they were sent to Friend A but when i check the number that they were sent to its the number for friend B. I have checked the numbers in the contact directory and both friend A and friend b have the correct numbers stored for them. So how the hell can this happen, and how many times might it have happened in the past and I have never known. This is a major security flaw and leaves me just wanting to dump the phone. Has anyone else had this problem?
i've not had it yet. I used 1.66 wwe for the first 6 weeks of having my phone and at the weeked flashed the latest energy rom and still not had it. It could be the contacts are corrupt so you could try deleting them both and recreating them
Bizzare!! I have never had anything like that happen with any phone ever, no matter what brand. It certainly never happened with my HD2.
Is it possible that you accidentally have more than one number for some of your contacts and it's defaulting to the wrong one? It would be worth checking the full contact card to see.
You may have already done that, but it's the only thing I can think of. All the best...
I have double checked and there is nothing wrong with the contact cards. only one number on each and no cross over.
I've experienced it once. I was sat in the pub with a mate, text my girlfriend (luckily not a saucy one!) and my mate got it... checked my phone, and for all intents and purposes I HAD sent to my girlfriend, but my mate was showing me the message on his phone.... beyond bizarre, it never happened again so I dismissed it.
Not had that problem
But I second the love hate relationship becoming to much!
I cant be doing with it, god knows how Im going to live with it for another 1.5 years...
But I cant bring my self to leave it for a smaller screened phone.
Where are your contacts located, your SIM or your Phone? Are you texting people while they are on your SIM, or are they located in your Contact list? I have definitely seen this before, but it is usually resolved once your import your SIM contacts to the PHONE and leave them there.

similar circumstances to me then the lad who got the text works with me so he told me straight away. the wierd thing is how random it was. I hadn't texted him for days and there are no other similarities our links in there contact cards. question is how many times does this happen and you never find out.
the facet that it had happened to someone else makes it worse. its not just a freak glitch, its a bug. did it happen to you on a stock rom?
I think I was running Artemis at the time, part of the reason I left it seeing as I was using a custom. Really weird that it didn't even go into that guys SMS history though, it went to the intended recipients history and I wouldn't have known it went to someone else unless I was sat next to the guy.
all my contacts are on my phone and all sync happily with exchange server.
your right about the history, out was logged as being sent too the person I wanted it to go to but when I checked the message details the number was the other persons!

Anyone else get little hang-ups when typing sometimes?

Hi,
I have a problem every now and then on my focus that is pretty annoying and I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. Every now and then when typing something on my phone it will just hang for a second a ND completely miss like 3 or 4 letters completely. Ive also seen it hang a couple times with the letter above like I'm pressing it, and then it doesn't even type out that letter. Ive gotten a replacement phone already and I've seen it happen on my new one too. Its really annoying because I like this phone and wp7 a lot but it just annoys me to think this could happen at any time.
Mine was doing the same thing, but I thought it was because of the microsd card that i inserted
I have had minor hang-ups as well. I assume it is a small bug when the phone is uploading all the previous texts. It will probably be addressed in the new updates coming in january and february. You might want to clear your text conversations too.

Yeah I assumed its some kind of garbage clean up that's causing it, I don't think I'll return the phone because it happens somewhat rarely. Is there an official place to give MS feedback on stuff like this?

message not sent. when signal is low

well have ran many many different roms over time and have to say that i have come upon my favourite now. although as with every single rom i always have the same thing that ticks me off and its with anything android apparently every android phone does it... but still i ask is there any way of stopping the constant questioning if it fails to send (says : message not sent select to review the message and try again) for example a low signal area like my home it is continual and really makes me feel like throwing the phone sometimes...
it always happens when there is a low signal... is there anyway of stopping the messages and just telling it to try again without user interaction. like any other phone that doesn't have android? lol
haha you would have thought the person in the development of android firmware would have thought that if someone has already hit send they want it to be sent haha not questioned if it fails... send the damn thing phone
i would upload a picture but im not allowed yet as apparently i have to be proven intelligent enough on the forum despite having customised every phone i have ever had for the last mmm 8years anyways any tricks to just make it resend automatically please
come on sum1 reply... this issue seriously annoys me...
