S7 Edge G935F Global Version / Power Button not working - Unresponsive - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello all,
Has anyone here had their phone's power button unresponsive?
In my unit it works random, now it works, 10 minutes later it doesn't, let it rest and maybe it works the next time, maybe not.
I cannot turn on/off the phone the normal way and requires a POWER + VOL DOWN button sequence for a forced restart.
Would this be a software/firmware issue or might it be hardware related?
I'm trying to get the unit replaced with the seller as of today.
I read there's an update but my unit says it's up to date with the latest software. (MMB29K.G935FXXU1APB6)
Thanks.

I received the update, and now I'm on APC8 (so, later...).

Sounds more like a hardware issue (defective unit), swap it for a new one.

Telephone Cant go into standby lockscreen

Hello All!
Just got my Samsung Omnia 7 today. I think my unit is broken and I dont know if its hardware or software related.
Whenever I want to put the phone in standby I click the power button like you normally do, but then it says "goodbye" and turns off the phone completely instead of going to the lock screen, like on my android. I have taken the battery out and back in still the same. It is updated with the latest firmware already.
What can be causing this error and Do I already have to return it because its broken
Any ideas would be appreciated.

A quick press (rather than press & hold) locks my screen

[Q] A7+ will not resume from standby

I just got my A7+ this weekend and I love it. The only problem is it will not resume from standby. If the screen goes off, either by hitting the power button or timeout the green led starts to flash and the lcd turns off. When I press the power button to wake the tablet the led turns on solid green, the screen flickers and nothing. The only way I can get the tablet to work again is to turn it off completly by holding the power button for 10 seconds and reboot it. I did a factory reset and installed the latest firmware. Any ideas on what could be causing this problem ?
Thanks for the help.
i have the same problem.
Hey guys, I bought a refurb A7+ last week and have not had this issue. Which (factory) firmware version do you have ? Mine is build QAJ3000.3.0018 .
Have either of you sideloaded anything unusual ?
Cheers !
I also got mine refurbished, for $120 can't beat that ! I have the same build number. I did not side load any apps, it was dowing it right out of the box. Anyways I got tierd of playing with it so I brought it back to the store and they exchanged it for me. The new one works perfectly ! Just waiting for a rom now

This problem was fixed with the 3.0021 firmware release on the eLocity website. As of today, there is a newer update to the rom 3.0022 which fixes wiping user data from the device.
I have the same issue and it is with the 3.0021 FW.
I have had the same problem with mine since new, I am using the newest firmware and the issue is still there. I can get it to wake up some times if I just rapidly push the power button until the screen flashes on. I don't know what to do with this thing, it would be great with ICS but between the wake issue, Froyo, choppy video, and poor support I am about to throw in the towel on this one.
I have the 3.0022 firmware installed and if I decide to force sleep (soft press of power button) I can duplicate the sleep issue, almost get myself into a panic mode, but then after a few tries it will wake up. They say that 3.0022 fixes it, but it does not. I have display set to not time-out. It's an annoying issue.

[Q] Normal behavior

I've had my Nexus 7 since launch.... so i guess first build.
Anyway for the past month or so when i charge the unit from complete shutdown... it restarts. This results in a further shutdown to get the battery graphics up indicating the charging cycle.
Although i can live with this problem, i'm also then having trouble starting there after, but only the first restart after charching, the first restart usually means holding down the start button for 30 secs or more.
This problem existed before the latest upgrade 4.1.2, which i,ve had for some time.
The N7 was purchased from google, and is the 8gb version.
Will i need to return this unit for repair or swop out or is there a fix i haven't read about, i should also add the unit is completely stock.
Thanks if you can help.
That usually happens that you have to hold the power button down for a long time. That doesn't happen for me anymore for some reason because of the update though.

ZE552KL restarting itself, think power button related.

Coincidentally to the Oreo upgrade received time ago, the phone has started re-starting itself and sometimes ends on a eternal restart loop, only broke if you long press the power button.
Thought it was Oreo related so flashed it back to nougat, same behavior, thought if it was battery related but it does it while plugged too.
Watched it closely and I think is related to the actual power button, got to see the power menu in it once before it restarting, is like it just go and sets it depressed by itself.
The SMMI test does not have a button test, is there any low level hardware test that support button usage/monitor?
TIA.

Post this issue on ASUS ZenTalk Global.
I guess it's a hardware issue. Is your phone under warranty?

Need Recovery mode Avin Avant 4 Android 9.0 PX6 unit

Hi there,
After doing an upgrade my unit it stuck with a black screen and need to get into recovery mode in order to reload a working firmware.
Anyone any idea how to get there?
Tried the reset button for some time with and without home or on/off button and also removed the power source and pressed reset while putting power back but nothing seems to work
So i'm stuck for now :crying:
Any help?
Did you ever get your unit fixed? Did you try restarting with a USB plugged in with the firmware file on it?
No sorry... never got it working again. Had to send it back for a replacement unit.
I've been doing a lot of back and forth with their support on another issue and I've updated my MCU and software so many times now I thought maybe I'd be able to give you a hand.
Do you use any navigation apps on your Avant4? When I use ones that have voice navigation, the voice is getting truncated at the start and end of the directions. Some apps more than others and it seems to be related to those apps that use TTS (Text to Speech).
I'm using Waze via Android Auto. So i'm not having this problem.
So it runs from your phone and just displays on the Avant4? I have Waze running on the unit directly and it gets truncated.
I have al running on my phone and use a Android Auto box.
U can buy it from Avin USA. See website for all options on your Avant4.

If you hold the volume knob until it starts blinking then let go and hold it down again it will boot the unit into recovery mode.
