I just got my A7+ this weekend and I love it. The only problem is it will not resume from standby. If the screen goes off, either by hitting the power button or timeout the green led starts to flash and the lcd turns off. When I press the power button to wake the tablet the led turns on solid green, the screen flickers and nothing. The only way I can get the tablet to work again is to turn it off completly by holding the power button for 10 seconds and reboot it. I did a factory reset and installed the latest firmware. Any ideas on what could be causing this problem ?
Thanks for the help.
i have the same problem.
Hey guys, I bought a refurb A7+ last week and have not had this issue. Which (factory) firmware version do you have ? Mine is build QAJ3000.3.0018 .
Have either of you sideloaded anything unusual ?
Cheers !
I also got mine refurbished, for $120 can't beat that ! I have the same build number. I did not side load any apps, it was dowing it right out of the box. Anyways I got tierd of playing with it so I brought it back to the store and they exchanged it for me. The new one works perfectly ! Just waiting for a rom now

This problem was fixed with the 3.0021 firmware release on the eLocity website. As of today, there is a newer update to the rom 3.0022 which fixes wiping user data from the device.
I have the same issue and it is with the 3.0021 FW.
I have had the same problem with mine since new, I am using the newest firmware and the issue is still there. I can get it to wake up some times if I just rapidly push the power button until the screen flashes on. I don't know what to do with this thing, it would be great with ICS but between the wake issue, Froyo, choppy video, and poor support I am about to throw in the towel on this one.
I have the 3.0022 firmware installed and if I decide to force sleep (soft press of power button) I can duplicate the sleep issue, almost get myself into a panic mode, but then after a few tries it will wake up. They say that 3.0022 fixes it, but it does not. I have display set to not time-out. It's an annoying issue.

My phone died today and when I got home to charge it, I noticed that after pressing the sleep/power button, the screen turns off and then about a second later comes back on. It does this regardless of if it's plugged in or not. I took it into Sprint and they're going to give me a new one when they get their paws on some. Right now I'm just looking for ANY possible work around to the problem.
I've done a factory reset, added a pattern/code, and installed NO LOCK but nothing can keep the screen from coming back on after pushing the power button...
(I also had another problem with the phone, the camera has a HOT PINK tinge about 85% opacity. I can go without the camera for a few weeks until the new one gets here but any help with that is very welcome)

Everything is stock.
Mine had a similar problem when I was on 2.1 I would charge the phone overnight and at some point in time the phone would turn the screen on and not turn back off. Or sometimes it would sitting on my desk and just randomly turn the screen on. After I upgraded to 2.2 it stopped. I never could figure out what was causing it to wake.
Are you using ChoiceDialer+? There is a known bug where the screen will not shut off after making a call with ChoiceDialer, though a reboot does fix it.
Hello friends,
I just messed up my DVP while updateing dell's update.
I was updating Mango 7220 as soon as i updated it n connected to zune it prompted for dell's update.
I went through with the update and got at the last of the 9 steps i.e. restarting the device. after waiting for good 30 odd minutes(as there was no activity) I removed the phone from the USB n tried to start the phone but it didn't. no flash of light no dell logo nothing. I've removed the phone at the same step during my mango beta update and it worked without issues that time.
anybody who has any input to get me out of this situation pls post here.
really need help here ppl.

are you sure? Make sure the battery is out, then hold the camera and volume down buttons, put battery in then boot while holding buttons, very least you should see a black screen that says "Dell"
Are you holding Power as well? That combo should bring you to the download screen where you can try to load your last backup.
well, i tried pressing vol - key and camera buttons witjout the battry and tried to boot thr phone after inserting the battry with buttons still pressed.
and also tried pressing three buttons with battery in.
nothing happened but i could see a light flashing theough the small slit(gap)between the screen parr n keyboard part.
it flashes on n off till i jold the power button. no reactoon when other two buttons r pressed.
What was your battery level like when updating, could you be out of power? Tried plugging into the charger for a while?

i can feel the charge when i touch the battery connectors with my tongue.
anyways i've put the phone on charging.
its been 10mins so far n nothing on screen.
I suggest you should try to update on another computer or laptop, cuz I used to bricked my dvp once when i was updating to mango beta on my own laptop but it went smoothly on my friend's one.
When my dvp bricked, I almost lost all the hope to bring it back. I left it like that for few days then tried to restore it again and surprisingly I got my dvp back. I think I'm lucky that time but if there is nothing you can do, it may worth a try
btw, what's your firmware version before update. Is it x.1500.7004.105? cuz i update to the new firmware 212 and i see it only fix the memory.

can u elaborate what happened with ur dvp.
i've left my dvp aside so that the battery drains out completly.will try to charge it after few days n then quo try to restore it.
i successfully updated the phone to mango n then tried to install the official dell update. i think they r not compatible with each other.
anyways, keeping my fingered crossed. let's hope battery drain works.:|
I've had my Nexus 7 since launch.... so i guess first build.
Anyway for the past month or so when i charge the unit from complete shutdown... it restarts. This results in a further shutdown to get the battery graphics up indicating the charging cycle.
Although i can live with this problem, i'm also then having trouble starting there after, but only the first restart after charching, the first restart usually means holding down the start button for 30 secs or more.
This problem existed before the latest upgrade 4.1.2, which i,ve had for some time.
The N7 was purchased from google, and is the 8gb version.
Will i need to return this unit for repair or swop out or is there a fix i haven't read about, i should also add the unit is completely stock.
Thanks if you can help.
That usually happens that you have to hold the power button down for a long time. That doesn't happen for me anymore for some reason because of the update though.

Good night everybody, I'm dipping my toes into phone/tablet repairs and I have a strange case with a Nexus 7 32GB model, first it was stuck at the Google screen that has a open padlock, after flashing it with Android 4.2.2(JDQ39) and updated the bootloader from 3.12 to 4.18 it finally started working, but if I turn it off after 5 seconds the tablet boots up by itself, the power button is working fine, and I can lock and unlock the screen just fine using the power button, any ideas of what it can be?
My first idea was to do all the updates up to Android 5.0.2 hoping that it might solve the problem.
Best regards and thanks in advance.
It reboots and then works normal?
Really weird
Yes, I reboots and is working perfectly, except for the touch-screen, already tried 3 new digitizers and no sign of life out of them, works with no problem with a mouse.
I friend of mine told me that it is supposed to reboot when the power button is pressed for a long time, but I can't find evidence of that information googling around.
Hi All,
My OPO2 becomes not responsive at all after keeping the screen off for more than 1-2 seconds.
Turning on and off the screen fast works well.
It is not really powered off because:
1. I can call to it, but there is no ring and no option to answer.
2. In order to turn it back on, I must long press the power button.
If I keep the screen on the phone works just fine for long hours.
I've tried factory reset, and even switched the stock OS with CM - and the issue reoccurred.
Happening only when unplugged.
Any ideas what else I can try?
Appreciate very much the help.
Same happened with my other Android device it would go unresponsive after I lock the screen I think it is a hardware related may be your proximity sensor is faulty check with service center.

Full wipe and try reflashing stock oxygen os 3.0.2 it may solve ur problam
Solved!
Hi,
Actually I had the capacitive buttons and the home button not working at all either,
so in this case it came into my mind that they may cause this issue to happen.
I have simply disconnected them both from the motherboard and the problem solved!
Obviously, replacing them is an additional option.
Thank you everyone for the help
