MiiTomo App From Nintendo - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone tried the Nintendo Miitomo app? Although it's not in the US play store yet, I was able to sideload after downloading from Nintendo UK. It installs with no problem, but when I try opening it, it crashes with "Unfortunately Miitomo has stopped." Tried rebooting to see if memory issue but no luck. I have systemless root, so not sure if that's the problem, or that it's incompatible with the Nexus or Marshmallow.

I tried it and got the same result

Thanks. Going to try on my M9 and S4 to see if it works on them.

Just tried on S4 running lollipop and same result. Nintendo must have it region locked.

Just installed MiiTomo from US Play Store but doesn't work on my Nexus 6P (Systemless Root.) But it is working on my HTC One M9 which is not rooted. Can anyone else with a 6P that isn't rooted try and see if it works for you?

It is definitely due to Root, but I just used Rootcloak, an Xposed module, and it is now working perfectly. Stock Nexus 6P, latest security update, rooted, running Xposed (obviously)

So your using standard root? I am using systemless root and don't have Xposed installed because of Android Pay.

Gotcha. I am indeed using systemless root, and am not sure how to get around this without Xposed, as Xposed is almost entirely the reason I root in the first place. (I do miss NFC payments, but not enough to get rid of Xposed)

Thanks. Am content using on my M9, just have to be on WiFi or swap out my Sim Card from my 6p.

No luck in an unrooted 6p
In my case, the play store says it is not compatible with any of my devices. I sideloaded it and it crashes on start. Any solutions yet? Thanks!
UPDATE!: I managed to make it work by uninstalling the SuperSU app. I had it there even if my phone is not rooted. But now the app opens and gives the 801-1949 error

there a xposed module miitomo security bypass works fine after Installed that

I'm using root cloak but I have to turn my internet signal off 3-to-4 seconds after opening the app in order to prevent force close. It'll say no-data connection. That's when I turn my signal back on and tap OK. Recently though I can't get a response to my screen selections. All I can do is spin the room camera view...

No problem. I now seem to have full functionality without toggling my internet signal switch now that I've rebooted. My only problem now is that "Nintendo Missions" force closes upon tap. But I can access THAT part from my browser so, no sweat...?

Im rooted on N preview, downloaded the App from Playstore and it works perfectly.

Snapchat Login "Temporarily" Failing

Ever since I unlocked the bootloader on my nexus 6p and installed a custom ROM, I haven't been able to login to snapchat. It keeps saying "Oh no! Your login temporary failed. Please try again later". I thought this was a snapchat problem and I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, tried different snapchat app versions, and even reset my password. No luck. I thought my snapchat account was locked, until I used my sister's iPhone and it logged in with no problems.
Does anyone have any advice or solutions? Could this possibly be a snapchat security issue because my nexus 6p is unlocked/rooted?
There was something about how snapchat is check for root now. I have mine rooted and it still works. Im really not sure whats going on.
There are a fix for it just install xposed and then install snapprefs. Hope it help :")
Here it was fixed with xposed uninstaller, then log in, and reinstall xposed.
Just like @Novek mentioned, remove Xposed if you have it using Xposed uninstaller and then reinstall Snapchat from the Play Store. You should be able to log in now. Then once login is successful reinstall Xposed. Apparently Snapchat only checks for root/Xposed when logging in for the first time. Worked for me just this morning with cyanogenmod 13 and latest Snapchat beta from the Play Store.
just watch this and follow his steps

How to fix Snapchat login temporarily failed for android devices rooted just type in youtube "How to fix snapchat login temporarily failed for android (ROOT)" it's a video posted in 25.06.2016 just follow my steps. Xda forum wont let insert links because i just opened this account[/YOUTUBE]
This will fix that snapchat problem if you have rooted divece. Subscribe and like it please!
1.) Uninstall xposed and snapchat
2.) Once booted back, install the snapchat version you like and login
3.) Install xposed again (and stay logged-in!)
It has nothing to do with root - snapchat checks för xposed

Is there a solution without removal of Xposed ?
tool Rootcloack does not work ..
I just received my 6P yesterday. I'm on 7.0 and rooted it right away. I'm now too having this snapchat login issue. However, if I'm not mistaken (I'm a noob, forgive me), 7.0 doesn't even have Xposed. If Xposed is supposedly causing the snapchat issue, how come I can't log in? I don't even have Xposed on my phone to delete. Please help!
Anyone found a fix for this yet?

The latest update to safetynet also now checks for magisk. So if you have magisk v7 or really any other version, uninstall that, login and then reinstall if you want to. I had the same problem before but its all good now.

root doesn't effect snapchat in any way. I've been rooted forever and the only times ive ever encountered problems logging in is when i had xposed or magisk.

It's because you're rooted I had the same problem. The guy in this thread saying root doesn't matter is mistaken. Unroot, log into Snapchat, rerooot, done.

What is a systemless root?

Previous chainfire supersu writes in the /system partion, specifically in /system/su directory. This makes some of the security conscience application to reject phones that has /system modified. The newer version of chainfire supersu relocate the files to /su directory, and can pass the security check provided the /su/xbin_bind symbolic link is removed.

Is there a workaround for getting Xposed to work or something similar that offers some tweaks?
A tip for someone new to ROMS and flashing. If you use Google Authenticator, or any other authenticator app, like Blizzard Authenticator, or Steam Mobile Guard, make sure you deactivate it before you flash anything.

Wanam got rid of the Sfinder/Quick connect on mine.
However, there were 2 other features in Wanam that worked previously that do not work under 6.0 MM.

How long does it usually take for Xposed to flash onto your Note 4? I've flashed the Overdrive MM rom just fine but flashing xposed 85.1 is simply not working at all, and I'm using the proper DL for my 910t3 firmware. I've waited upward of a half-hour for it to boot from the Samsung screen but nothing. I've had previous roms on 5.1.1 where xposed worked fine.

Oral B Bluetooth Issues

I just bought one of the Oral B 8000 toothbrushes and apparently there is an issue in Android 7.0 which won't allow the toothbrush to pair over bluetooth with the phone app. I was curious if anyone else had come across this issue and gotten it resolved. The issue is known to Oral B but right now the only fix is to upgrade to Android 7.1 and I would like to stay on stock firmware because it's nice and stable. I am rooted and bootloader unlocked so if absolutely necessary I can change roms but I was hoping someone might know of a fix. Was also curious if the latest phone update might have fixed it even though it didn't change the Android version number.

Oral-B not starting on rooted devices
Hi,
Has anyone managed to use the Oral-B app on a rooted android? I am on Oreo with Xposed, and despite adding the app to Rootcloak config, it will detect the root.
I've read on the app comments that uninstalling supersu makes the app work, so it may be that Rootcloak default config is missing some keywords/commands?

Yes, it's working for me now. I have actually two solutions.
- I moved from superSU to Magisk. I still don't pass SafetyNet as I'm using gravity box. Now I'm with Oral-B app 6.0.1 and it starts and works correctly.
- at some point, while still with superSU, I downgraded the app with an apk of a previous version found online. The v5.2.3 doesn't seem to have SafetyNet implemented and it has the same features anyway. Remember to disable "auto update" in Google play to remain on that version.

DP4 is out!

https://developer.android.com/preview/download
Just installed. July security update. They changed the silent mode status bar icon. Still looking for other changes.
-edit- Dark theme is an option under display settings, advanced!
It seems to have some horrible contact bar in the app drawer when you pull it up now that shows 2 frequent contacts? Found out you can disable this under home screen settings.
-edit 2- root still works with magisk. Still P under build with same easter egg as before.

Thank you!
Anyone tried the ElementalX build for DP3 on this yet? ctsProfile seems to fail SafetyNet on Magisk 16.4, other than that haven't noticed any problems.

Sorry, when you say root still works with magisk... do you have to unroot before updating, then reflash magisk? Or can you update right over the previous update if you're already rooted??
Hopefully Google fix up the device certification for DP4 - Google Pay won't work currently, but did on DP3. I think G need to add it server-side.
edit: Google fixed the device certification. Google Pay now works again.
Flash kernel failed cts. Might be something new detecting magisk

Safety net fails but magisk hide takes care of my banking apps..so all good

Keep losing root, anyone else? A reboot will fix it, but it goes away eventually for me. Also magisk data partition isn't set up correctly (can't install modules).
Anyone having issues getting the light and dark themes to work?

Same for me. I install and check out everything... Everything is going great. Then randomly an app I use will say no root detected.. And I'll go to magisk and it says to install 16.4...
I've been looking around but you're the only one I've found saying what I'm seeing.
