Hello, I have a Rogers Canada SGH-I337M rooted running 4.4.2 I337MVLUFNE1 and I would like to try custom roms on my phone but I have never tried doing this before and I don't know what custom recovery I can use with this baseband version. I was going to try Safestrap but the versions for it that I saw on its XDA page were for NB1, MK2, and MF3 baseband versions. Will the latest version of Safestrap be compatible with my phone, or will I need to downgrade/upgrade my android version to get a different baseband version? If I will need to do so, would I need to unroot or make changes before changing the android version? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Safestrap is primarily for the phones with a locked bootloader because we are not able to flash any other type of recovery. Since your bootloader is not locked, you should use philz touch or TWRP. That way you'll be able to flash kernels, as well.
Best advice I can give you is to read before flashing anything that way you know what you are getting yourself into. Since you are i337M, I would start with this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314494

Okay, thank you very much for clarifying that my phone's bootloader was not actually locked, I just assumed it was because I couldn't find anyone else with that baseband version. I have also read the thread you linked, I am going to try TWRP.
I have a note 3 N9005 with custom rom and recovery. I want to install the official the lollipop frimware but it needs an unlocked bootloader.
So How can i know if my bootloader is unlocked ?
Thanks in advance
Edit : The firmware needs unlocked phone not unlocked bootloader , I read it wrong. but still how can i know the status of my bootloader
try THIS
:good:
Hi guys
searched the forums but cannot find the answer.
I have a 935f and its running the latest bootloader and modem from november. i just got this phone and have rooted and installed TWRP, when i am looking at custom roms like superman and renovate, it tells me to "update" my bootloader and modem to octobers version for superman or septembers version for renovate.
obviously i a running a later version than both of these, am i ok to flash the rom without doing anything or do i need to downgrade my bootloader then flash?
if i downgrade will i have to root and install TERP again plase?
thanks in advance for the help
Hi,
With all these issues like "IMEI 0" and volte not working, i just want to know a easy way to restore back to latest version of stock rom for indian variant with all the things working and a locked bootloader
Many Thanks!!!
I have the same question, i unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone but it broke the camera app,so i have installed the different kernel as a work round to get the camera working. But i want to go back to the stock rom with stock kernel. Can someone please guide us through
I have a G930V running G930VVRU4BRC2. Is it possible to update to the latest firmware, G930VVRUACSF2, via Odin without updating the bootloader too? If not, do i have to stick with the latest in the v4 bootloader, G930VVRS4CRI1? Is there a reason I should not update my bootloader too? Like the ability to downgrade?
Thanks.
Trust me you don't want to update and to awnser your question I'm not sure but I am sure that the firmware itself has the bootloader number so by flashing from RS4 witch is bootloader 4 to RUA witch is bootloader 10 it would be impossible to downgrade just upgrade to a bootloader 7 and lower you should be fine
