For the past month or two, my phone's media volume has not been lowering when activating "Ok Google" or when answering a phone call over bluetooth in my car. Both PocketCasts and Google Play Music (only two media apps I use) have had this bug - I doubt it's something to do with the apps. Has anyone else experienced this or know what can cause this?

If I play music with Google Play Music for a while via a Bluetooth headset, I am losing the headset controls, meaning skip, pause, volume have no effect anymore.
I can fix this by turning on the display and manually pause and resume the music. Then the headset controls do work again.
Anyone else seeing this?
when any kind of audio is being played back, if I unlock or wake the screen the audio is interrupted/paused. This occurs when playing back audio through the phone's speaker, bluetooth, or headsets.
I have also noticed that it sometimes makes the same sound as when I start Google Now/Voice search, but not always. I have some programs like Media Button Router that are being impacted because their text to speech outputs are being silenced whenever they wake up the phone.
I have gone through and disabled app after app using titanium backup, but haven't found the culprit yet.
Screen lock sounds are disabled as well.
Even things like audio control of the alarm no longer work properly because the audio is being interrupted when the screen is woken up.
any ideas?
bump: any ideas? this is a really annoying issue.
Quick question. I still use the earbuds that came with my galaxy nexus. They have a rocker button that historically (100% custom rom across multiple devices) has always just performed a pause/play function in all music apps. Didn't matter which way you pressed the rocker.. Always paused or unpaused.
On my new motox pure edition, this button invokes "OK Google" voice input. Any way I can easily map this to the pause/play function instead?
Hi,
Recently came across this strange behavior on my nexus 6p device, not sure if it’s a bug or if I am missing something. This is what happens:
I am listening to media, for example a podcast from Pocket casts with wired headphones. As soon as I lock the screen and put the device in my pocket the sound stops, I go in to the application that is playing the sound and see that it is still playing even though I don’t hear any sound. I use the volume rocker to have a look at the sound settings and don’t see any reason as to why it has stopped producing sound. The same goes for Spotify so it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the applications. In order to get the sound back I need to pause the podcast\song and press play again
I can almost simulate this whenever I want by putting it in my pocket, it gets muted right when the lining of my pants covers the bottom speaker (on the usb side).
Found a solution, *I went into the "Ok Google" detection settings and disabled "Always on" and "Trusted voice" and then deleted my recorded recognition, it seems to have fixed the problem.
If I turn them back on, the problem appears again
Ok so basically I use bluetooth lg tone pro's every day for work, and every time I am listening to music while the screen is off..I can skip or repeat the song but I can't really pause it. SOMETIMES I can pause it but when it lets me pause it...it will close spotify. I never had any problems with my htc 10, s7 and nexus phones, so it's not a broken headset.
Anyone else have these problems?
I went on maintenance just to be sure spotify or soundcloud isn't being put to sleep and it's on the unmonitored, I tried re pairing the device but no luck.
Hey, I know its been a while since your post but I have these issues actually. I have a spotify community post open as well as I don't think google play music has had this issue. If you want to weigh in there as well here it is https://community.spotify.com/t5/On...king-after-a-few-minutes/idc-p/3740076#M63097
