Video Player - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I came from the Galaxy S5 and the the S5 video player had a nice fetcher that you could take screen captures and go frame by frame forward or reverse. Anyone know how I could install that video player or know of another video player that has the same functions?

It's there but you have to click on editor in the menu and also download video editor from the galaxy app store

Launch the HTC player?

1). Is there a way of launching the sense video player and then choosing files for it like you can with the windows media app? the only way i see to launch the player is to go to the photos and videos tab and when you do launch it via that tab you only get a picture of the videos first frame and not the file name which is a problem for me.
2). It seems that sense wont or can't keep open it's music player and video player at the same time or even the windows media player according to dutty's task manger as soon as i launch the music player after using the video, the video shuts down and vica versa a pain as i constantly switch between video and music on my journeys.
Coreplayer stays open but i'm having issues with that at the moment.
Anyone?

2. They all use the same player, basically just different skins, so your answer is no. Coreplayer is a different player/program.
thought so, oh well, cheers

[Q] Is there a video player app in the phone?

Is there a video player app in the phone? I searched around but couldn't find one in my apps. But I can still find the videos through Myfiles and then play them. Is it supposed to be like this?
I think there should be some stock player app called video player or something. Thanks.
The stock video player is called Gallery. This had me for a while too, heh.
Well what do you know. I was looking everywhere for it too after deleting MyFiles and low and behold, it's in the one place I looked at and dismissed because I view pictures there -_-
Thanks. You can play videos from gallery, same as using Myfiles or Astro. I do find there is an app "video player" in /system/app/. Maybe, Epic 4G just hides it from the app menu, which is different from other galaxy S phones. Don't know why.

The Epic was gimped slightly... either because of Sprint or limitations when trying to adapt Touchwiz to landscape mode. We can only hope we'll get all the stuff back when we get the Froyo update.
Yeah. I hope so. I hate having a video player that restarts the movie every time I navigate away from it.

The only reason to use the stock video player is if you're playing an MKV file or something crazy. "act1 video player" can play AVI files just fine, and it remembers where you left off for every video you play in it. So if you start 6 movies and dont finish, it will remember your position for each one. Great video player.

Youtube 1080p

Hi
Is it possible in any way to play 1080p youtube in video mode?
I want to see the videos but in a TV using the MHL cable, and If I see the videos in the browser using flash the MHL cable only shows 800x480 in the TV scaling. So, I want any mode to play 1080p like a local video to see the output in 1080p with nice quality.
Any idea?
Hi there, you can use an app called Tubemate, found on market. You can select the video quality you wish, and it downloads it to your phone.

well??? hehe
I use tubemate its one of my most used apps and you can save mp3 music files of you tube so basic you can download your music from YouTube videos double nice
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
hi, watch your video in a web browser instead of youtube app, when in browser choose "desktop" mode and you can simply select 1080p in the same way as if you were watching it on a PC. Click the video to drop into full screen mode and voila you have 1080p on you TV through MHL.
Dont bother with other apps, just more faffing, I never browse in mobile mode, I also use full desktop on the S2, mobile browser is too cut down.

Video Editor / Editing App for Galaxy S4

Maybe I'm not using the right keywords to search because I can't seem to find any info
I know the Galaxy S4 has an option within Video clips for Edit which downloads a Video Editor from Samsung Apps. I checked out the specs on it and it's a pretty hefty-sized app 100+ MBs I believe. I didn't see any "great" or "highly recommend" reviews for it.
So I googled and found nothing on recommended apps for video editors / video editing on the Galaxy S4. I'm looking for something that will include the basics like trimming and maybe orientation flip from horizontal/vertical. More advanced editing I know will be much better on a comp but something that I can use on the go say if I shot a lengthy video and I want to trim a piece and change the orientation, maybe add a quick title and/or a fade effect and upload to youtube, instagram or facebook.
Any recommendations at all out there?
Thanks!
Maria
Easy Fix
The app for the S4's default video editor is in Samsung Apps. You may have the application disabled, so go ahead and enable it.
But if you want to fix the orientation for a video, I'd suggest you use
"Fast Video Rotate Trial," made by YCdroid in the Play Store
because that's the app I used (for only one video, of course. This app is a trial version of the full one).

I can tell you that you are incorrect about the Samsung editing app (at least for MDL and earlier builds). You must download it (as the OP stated) from Samsung. It does not come installed with the firmware. Maybe this has changed with later firmwares, however, because it is available as a download from Samsung, I doubt it. Maybe someone with MF3 or MK2 can confirm?
