1). Is there a way of launching the sense video player and then choosing files for it like you can with the windows media app? the only way i see to launch the player is to go to the photos and videos tab and when you do launch it via that tab you only get a picture of the videos first frame and not the file name which is a problem for me.
2). It seems that sense wont or can't keep open it's music player and video player at the same time or even the windows media player according to dutty's task manger as soon as i launch the music player after using the video, the video shuts down and vica versa a pain as i constantly switch between video and music on my journeys.
Coreplayer stays open but i'm having issues with that at the moment.
Anyone?
number 2 is really annoying

2. They all use the same player, basically just different skins, so your answer is no. Coreplayer is a different player/program.
thought so, oh well, cheers

I have an issue with videos on my Touch. Just recently I tried creating and watching a video for the first time. My photos and video folder is stored on my SD card.
I can record the video and it is in the right folder (the Touch can easily find it under videos), but whenever I try to play the video, Windows Media Player says "The source filter for this file could not be loaded".
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Nobody?
screw windows media, just install TCPMP

I second that and if you can, get the latest Core.

Yeah, I've got it installed and it does work for these files.
Any way to easily make TCPMP the default app instead of WMP?
I would like to know why WMP won't work though. It bugs me when something doesn't do as it should.
in TCPMP, go into settings > file assoc. and select the ones you want. as far as WMP, i'm sure there is a relatively simple fix, but at the end of the day, WMP is still a completely useless player.
Thanks! I'll go and check that out.
Edit: One more quick question for anyone that knows. Even though I associate TCPMP with .MP4 video files, when I use the cube and select videos and choose a video that I've recorded and hit play, the cube by default brings up WMP to play the video. There must be somewhere in the registry where I can change this to default to TCPMP for playback right?
When I click on the HTC pictures/videos album icon, all my movies (even in .avi format) have the Windows Media Player icon.
My HD2 tries to open all my movies with Media Player. It seems I don't have the embedded HTC movie player (with hardware acceleration).
Is it normal?
Ok. Had to do a Hard Reset. Works now.
Hmmmm.. Maybe mine is the same then.. Didnt even realise there was a embedded HTC movie player.. Should I do the same to make .avi's work without a 3rd party app?
No, try to play the HTC demo video.
If you can see it, it's ok. It means you have the HTC default player.
is there a way to use that video player as the default player for videos?
If I recall, associate your video files to the HTC_VideoPlayer.exe
How would i go about that

yes, how would you do this? I prefer the HTC Video player over the 3rd party solutions but I can't find a good gui to access the videos aside from the ugly File Explorer
Total Commander perhaps?
The pictures and videos tab
Go to the pictures and videos tab.
Go to albums lower left.
Go to albums again on lower left and this wilol bring up a list of all of your pics and videos on both device and storage card.
Click the one you wish to play and from there it will use the HTC player by default.
Ugly route, but it works.
Is there a way to view on-line videos through WMP? Instead of the phone automatically using the default player (don't know what this player is?) On the default player, if I want to view an on-line video I have to actually download the vid to my phone, takes 2 to 3 mins to do this. Whereas WMP buffers the video and then plays it in about 10 secs without having to physically download it.
How come no help with this? I've been posting this thread and a similar one for two days now. If nobody knows the answer or there isn't one, can someone say.
Anyone please?
use either streaming media or coreplayer, i dont think anybody uses WMP anymore, it's waaaaay outdated.
btw, you can set file association to your favorite media player

Thx for reply.
Yes you're right about WMP, it's just that I found it much quicker to view a video. Coreplayer is something I might try. How would I set file association to my favourite player?
Hello,
My requirement for the Video Player:
1) Play the music, when the player in the background.
2) When I click the player icon, show the video.
3) The first start know the last playing list, when click the icon starts to play, NOT required to set play all.
4) Work with Carwebguru
The default video player NOT working on the background.
The VLC when selected load directory NOT load the subfolders...
I tried more video player, actually the best is the MX Player Pro, but all first starts need to click play all icon. So need 2 click....
Thank you,
Krisztian
