Since receiving the March update, I am unable to skip tracks on bluetooth in my car. Used to work perfectly fine before this update. The controls still seem to work on my headphones though. Already tried unpairing and re-pairing the phone with my car system. Also tried clearing the cache in the phone. Nothing seems to be helping.
Anyone else facing this issue? Any way to resolve this?
Negative. Bluetooth control working fine on latest build here.
Bumping it up. Hopefully, there is some solution.
Same issue here. Stock, latest security patch on VZW's network.
I am having the same issue, though it will work when the screen is on. As soon as the screen is off Bluetooth audio controls stop working. This worked in previous releases.
Same issue here since March update. Anyone found a fix?
I had an issue where my bluetooth controls (ie not skipping tracks) stopped working (they worked previously) and a simple reboot fixed it.

I am having trouble with every N beta ROM since v3. Bluetooth is very spotty when it works if it works at all. I have tried 3 separate ROMs all with full wipes still issues with Bluetooth. It will connect but no music or audio will play. Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?
I don't have that issue. My audio seems to be fine but with the latest version just released I seem to keep losing my paired Bluetooth devices after reboot. Are your pairings holding fine?
Yeah pairings are fine here, just no audio.
Audio won't play at all? Or will it just play on the phone
I connect my bluetooth wireless speaker and it works fine on beta 4.
Working now in v4!
Curious if anyone has found a fix for bluetooth track text and back/forward controls not working (e.g. when connected to a car stereo). The phone connects fine and audio works great. It would be nice to get the track text and controls working.
This did work on MM when I first got the phone, but after the (OTA, stock) update to Nougat it no longer worked. I've been waiting patiently hoping one of the incremental updates would fix it, but no joy so far.
Any ideas? Anyone else annoyed by this issue?
Never had trouble with this issue.
~ But my car-stereo is running Android and no WinCe or whatever...
I am having SBH20 Bluetooth Earphones. Play-Pause, Next-Previous is working but the volume adjustment is working unsynchronized with the phone.
Since upgrading to Pie I've not been able to use my bluetooth headset while making or receiving calls. All I hear is a loud buzzing sound like you would hear if you crossed wires for your speakers. Anyone having this issue. Soluations?
Check out the various Bluetooth driver choices in the Developer setting. A different one may fix your issue.
Have you tried unpairing, deleting and re-pairing the headset?

Thanks tried that. I've even considered wiping bluetooth data.

Thanks I'll give it a try.
Same here
I'm have the same issue in my 2010 Mercedes B200. I've had no luck with factory reset, clear bluetooth cache, nothing. Love to hear if you are successful.
Not able to make any changes to the bluetooth settings stick. Has anybody had success in making changes to the codec or any of the other settings?
Same situation here..I cannot use Bluetooth headset for calls ..not only phone calls but also calls on Skype, messenger etc.
I can report the same thing for my wife in her 2010 Benz R350. The strange thing is if she takes the call on speaker phone, then the Bluetooth sorts itself out and takes over the call.
2nd strangest thing is that if I pair my PH1 to her car, I don't have the issue. My phone is a newer production than hers. It's bizzare.
I did find a thread in the Google bug trackers where this was a reported issue that has been resolved. Hopefully the next update incorporates that fix and sorts us out.
Great phone other than this.
I can report that the update pushed today with the September security updates has resolved this issue for us.
When I connect the smartphone with the car via Bluetooth, the music is just intermittent suonds. How do I fix this?
I would like to know this too, anyone?
I started having this same issue after the last/first Tmobile update, before it was fine.
Same thing here. The music would either play through the phone's earpiece or sound like a call playing through the Bluetooth speaker. I read YouMail was a cause so I uninstalled and it still happened I force closed the phone app and it worked normally after that. The issue may definitely be from the T-Mobile update tho.
Yeah been having an issue with volume fading after initial connection, drives me nuts since I use the phone for GPS and music streaming. so I use the v30 for bt music and OnePlus for gps
I'm having an issue with the phone trying to automatically connect to a second Bluetooth device and begin playing music on it. This happened tonight while following behind my wife's car.
Every time we stopped at a light it would connect and I would loose audio in my vehicle and play in hers. No way to stop it connecting other than forget the device or turn off all the functions in that device settings.

I have the T-Mobile 6T and I have this same issue.
It seemed like the previous update fixed it, and was broken by the current update. Anyone know if the international rom has the same problem?

I'll be updating this on the weekend. Nothing worse than having the beat drop to have the volume drop...

I feel you, dealt with that for a while until they found a way to convert the phone. anywho hope it fixes your issue.
Bluetooth nightmare
I've been having the same issue since I bought my T-Mobile 6T last year and am pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to fix it. I have a "GTA Car Kit" Bluetooth module installed in my '06 Mazda 3 and I use Android Auto with my phone docked in a CD slot mount to give me hands-free text messaging, navigation and music / audiobooks. My phone is also always connected to my android wear watch, so it's technically connected to two Bluetooth devices at once when I use it.
The problem is that audio playback via Pandora, Google Music and my audiobook app that plays on-device mp3's intermittently stutters or skips. It happens immediately sometimes, other times it will work perfectly for half of my commute and then start stuttering every few seconds until I finally just turn off the music/audiobook completely.
I've tried:
Turning bluetooth on and off
Turning my car radio on and off
Changing the developer mode settings for Bluetooth AVRCP Version, Codec, Sample Rate, Playback quality etc.
Clearing storage/cache for Bluetooth
Switching to the international version ROM for the device
Once I got the Oxygen OS v10 update I really though the problem was fixed, but after a few days of working fine it started skipping again.
Does anyone have any idea what's causing this or other things I can try?
[EDIT] I found one more new thing to try on the OnePlus 6T forums https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/bluetooth-stuttering-solved.1076196/
I'll give this a try and report back
Hi, so I recently installed lineage os on my old Samsung J1 (2016), and I thought everything was working fine until I connected my bluetooth headphones, I almost lost my hearing, the audio was really loud and crackly, and the device disconnects in ~5 mins, and I'm asking here for help because I know I'm not the only one who's dealing with this issue, also I'm sure it's a software fault and not hardware (bluetooth was working just fine on the original system/rom that's why, and the headphones still work with other devices) and just to make sure, I tried connecting my bluetooth controller and it worked the way it's supposed to, and sharing files with bt works fine as well, so the only thing that doesn't work is audio device(s).
Things I tried:
Safe mode (didn't work).
Disabling any bluetooth related settings, including the absolute volume thing in dev options (didn't work).
And please don't tell me to factory reset, it's a newly installed system and I'm sure it won't work anyway.
If you know a fix for it, I'd like to know what it is.
Thank you.
