Do not disturb settings not working - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

On my new S7 Edge, the do not disturb settings do not seem to be working properly. Even with only alarms allowed the damn thing still buzzes with emails and texts during the quiet time. I also noticed that once the phone reaches 100% charge during the night, the screen will light up for about 5 seconds at full brightness, WTF!
Anyone else having this issue or know how to make it obey the do not disturb settings?
Thanks
Jason

It's been mentioned 43 times in the forums. Samsung is working on it.

Vibrator...

Hi all
Does anyone know if there is a way to control the length of time that the phone vibrates for? I rarely use my phone with the sound on (meetings etc.) and I realise that it is easy to recognise the difference between an incoming phone call and a notification by the length (and repeat) of the vibration going on in the phone's holster....
The notification vibrate seems to go on for about 5 seconds, whereas the fone ringing vibrate is much shorter and repeats at reasonable intervals.
Is it possible to modify this so that it does short pulses instead of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!! I don't know what the battery consumption is like if one would receive say 30 notifications per day as opposed to just a few. It feels like a reasonably serious motor that is turning for this vibration.
I had the same thoughts, but little research as I am struggling with more serious issues of my TyTN...
Registry does not seem to have anything concerning vibration length.
It would be surely nice to control vibrations... some much less complex devices have such a feature from ages
Vibrate
Hi Rich,
This has been my number one bugbear since I first got this device. I've posted a couple of times here and on Modaco, but not a lot of feedback apart from the following:

I've not tried it yet but let me know how you get on.

A brilliant idea for an APP

So, I have a Behold II and noticed this damn thing doesn't have a notification LED. So i was wondering.... can someone make the following app:
When you receive a text, there is no LED to show you got one, so you constantly need to look at your phone...
If someone can make an app where when you receive a text... your screen slowly glows? that would be pretty neet. Let me know if theoretically this is possible.
Imagine, phone on your desk, you get up, come back and its slowly fading on and off... (i know this will be a battery killer).
Handcent sms has a funtion that turns your phone on when you get a text...
The problem with that is that it might turn on the screen momentarily but then it'll auto sleep again in a minute or less. I want to know if someone can make something where when we get a text, the screen just faintly "glows" white.... a slow fade in and out until you grab your phone.
Ideas would be:
- Make the screen fade in and out slowly (a faint glow, almost like the Flashlight App, but faint... not BAM LIGHT lol)
- Make a settings to be able to choose the color you want
- Make a setting to pick the time of day you don't want it to glow (save battery). So if I set "no glow" from 12AM - 8AM and i get a text at 3AM my phone won't glow cause it'll glow all morning till i wake up and drain all battery.
Any ideas?
If you make the screen glow until you grab your phone, this would kill the battery. Just imagine receiving a text at 1 am while u r sleeping, when you wake up your battery would be unecessarily used up.

thats why i wrote one of the settings for time frame... a "NO GLOW" time...
so you can set NO GLOW from 12AM - 8AM (while you're sleeping) and if you get a text nothing happens... It only works at the hours you choose.
Sounds like a cool app and for those that have hearing problems kinda even more important
In case this never materializes you could turn the notification reminders on so it could beep or vibrate after the initial notification

Thats how I have it now but it only vibrates once every so often... I could use more of a visual notification specially while at work... phone goes on the desk and I don't always feel the vibration

[Q] 2 Vibrations with each notification.

Got my phone Thursday (ordered on launch day).
Basically with each notification from email, voice and maybe others, the phone vibrates twice. Even though I have vibration turned off in the notifcation settings for each app. I know this issue is not unique to Nexus 4, as my Galaxy Nexus began doing this as soon as I updated it to 4.2. It's pretty annoying though, and considering the Android team devs say they test the releases...I find it hard to believe something like this slipped through.
I'm pretty sure a bug report has been submitted to the android team, but wondering how you guys are dealing with this. Is there a workaround?
Loving the phone otherwise.
Thanks
-Mike
does it vibrate if the phone's on silent?
I am trying to use the phone on vibrate mode, but prior to 4.2 the settings in each app had an effect on which notification would vibrate and which wouldn't. In the gmail app I have it set to blink the notification LED and vibration is set to never.
It is widespread.

No notification overnight

I follow a certain person on Twitter and have my notifications set so when they tweet, I receive a notification. This works all day without a problem, but at night it just doesn't work. I really would like to be awoken by this certain person tweeting so can anyone help?
I have a super loud notification tone so I'm positive I'm not sleeping through it.
Do not disturb is completely off.
Twitter is set as a priority app to still send notifications even if do not disturb was somehow on.
It definitely doesn't have to do with my Twitter settings, because it works fine during the day. It's just something about the phone being inactive for hours at a time that puts it in a somewhat sleep state I guess? I don't know because I'm asleep. I really need these notifications to work 24/7 so please anyone help!
I think there is no solution for it. In my case something similar happens to me, I have activated the notifications of people that I follow by twitter and although the application is in unsupervised mode it definitely goes into sleep mode when you have not used it for a while. mobile. I've tried it all, I guess it's a problem of the samsung customization layer because in an android stock this same thing works perfectly

Nokia 5 on call close to ear to speak does not turn the display off

So, my Nokia 5 on call, put it close to ear to speak like everyone does, the display stays on. This started to happen maybe close to "June 1, 2018" security update. Not sure, but can't remember exactly when it started.
So does anybody else noticed it? Because when you stop talking, you will have loads of apps opened and settings menu open and you will notice it.
Thanks
more on this, I forgot to mention that the adaptive brightness does not work. Put it on automatic and it goes to 16% and it does matter what light goes on the phone, it never leaves 16% anymore, until you set it manually.
