Multitasking on an incoming call - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello,
On the iPhone there is an app for jailbroken devices called Call Bar. Basically it allows you to continue whatever you are doing while there is an incoming call. Is there any app similar to this on Android? I have found 2 apps, Small Call Pro and Call PopOut but they haven't been updated in more then a year. Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Or press the home button ?

Hmmm I've tried that however I can't dismiss the incoming call notification which renders the top part of the screen useless.
To clarify I don't want to reject the call, I just want to be able to continue whatever I'm doing while the call is ringing out.

This is a feature in stock Android since Lollipop as shown by @foxmeister
Envoyé de mon Nexus 6P en utilisant Tapatalk

Android can do all this since forever, just answer the call and press the Home button , if the top bar shows, press the power button and turn on the screen again.

I think the OP means he doesn't want to answer OR reject the call, just ignore it so it goes to voicemail after the normal delay.
It took me a while to figure out how to do that with heads up notifications. It appears that you can swipe up on them and it will push them to the notification drawer, instead of dealing with them.
I've never tried that with a call, because I either answer, or reject. Why make the poor person on the other end wait to leave you a voicemail? Just wastes everyone's time, IMO.

[REQ] Callback

Does anybody know any solution for making callback for incoming calls?
I.e. somebody calls me and I want to cancel call and call him back with just one button...
Any idea?
Any ideas so far?
Maybe...
I have some other things on my plate right now, but I'll look into it when i have the time
Thanks a lot!
Actually, there is some kind of such application, but it works wrong on Diamond - when it is working, Volume control buttons are turning on and off the volume control screen, and do not actually control the volume.
Looking forward!

Have a look at the following mobiion product: Magicall
http://www.mobiion.com/magicall.html
Thanks a lot! But I read through manual and didn't find anything about calling back to incoming call. I can send SMS back on incoming call with this programm, but this is built-in feature of original Diamond's dialer.
But thanks for reply!

try this software from russian deweloper:
CallBack 3 (if you have incoming call, you have to press pre-configured button for automatical callback).
Installation:
1. unpack CallBack.exe in Windows;
2. run;
3. soft reset.
Setting:
Settings are made by pressing the button "Settings".
To close the Settings window click "OK." To close the Settings window use "Hide" button . Do not click on the X in the upper right corner, as this will lead to the closure of the program.
The program was written for the Gigabyte device, but it works with other devices.
On my Touch HD works only with red or green buttons only.
Sorry fo my English...

[Q] Best missed call/SMS reminder application?

Hi, does anyone know of any good missed call/SMS reminder apps?
I've tried "Missed Call Reminder", "Vibration Notifier" and "Missed Call / SMS Alert," but they all lack something...
The first one doesn't have "quiet hours" support, so it starts to beep even during night hours when I don't want it to.
The second doesn't work for me at all.
The last one has "quiet hours" support, but doesn't do anything when the phone is set to vibrate only. I'd expect the phone to vibrate every 1 minute, but no, nothing. There's an option to enable the reminder in "silent/vibrate mode," but the sound notification goes off when this is enabled. I don't want that, I just want it to vibrate when the phone is in vibrate/silent mode, how hard is that to understand?
So, is there a reminder app that:
1) supports quiet hours
2) actually DOES something in vibrate/silent mode
3) ONLY vibrates when in vibrate/silent mode
4) vibrates + sound in normal mode

[Q] What does this indicator mean?

Hello Nexus 4 users.
I just noticed this counter in my default Messaging client. It changes from time to time when I receive or send text messages. Am I missing some knowledge?

That is the number of unread messages.
In your screenshot there are two unread messages so the counter shows 2

Yeah I thought that as well. But the unread messages keep being unread. If I press them and go back, it still counts as an unread one. Not sure if I'm doing some monkey business?

My guess is that you're doing it way too fast. Try to stay at message for a while, 'read' it and then it should mark it read.
Thanks for the answers! Turns out I'm kinda stupid . I thought that the conversations with a grey look were unread, and the white ones were read. I had a few white ones in the buttom, so I pressed them and now it's working as intended. I hope I gave you a great laugh!
Thank you for the input anyway.

[REQUEST] Swipe txt/mail notifications left/right to mark as read or delete

Hi guys!
I'm probably not the first one who thought about that, but I cannot find much about it here on xda and I'm curious why it hasn't already be done:
Wouldn't it be possible for devs to include an option to swipe notifications left to mark as read and right to delete (with an "undo" option popping up) in a similar way to the Gmail app? I don't know if this would work system-wide (say, for third-party apps like Whatsapp), but it should at least be possible for SMS and maybe the pre-installed exchange email app.
I think an option like this right inside the notification slide would come very handy for generic SMS no one ever reads like for example provider messages and the like.
What do you think?

}
Although that would be useful, I don't think the swipe gesture returns any value to the application. Swipe just gets rid of the notification. The app wouldn't know if it was swiped left or right!
Besides if there are multiple notifications from same app won't all the messages get deleted then?

Hm I don't know much about developing, but if you were to mark it as read, won't the app need more permissions?
I mean in this case THE APP, say gmail, is going to your mailbox and marking the item as read and then returning that "read" value to the gmail servers, instead of your PHONE just avoiding the notification.
Then again I could be completely wrong here. I really don't know
You could also use a third party app : NotifierPro.
by desactivating the notifications from the sms app, and NP pops a banner that you can swipe left/right, to launch/read/dismiss. You can customize that.
But I guess that it would be nice too, to have it directly in the notification panel.

Yes I do have the same issue, a bug with the program? They are probably aware of this and will have a fix on the way sometime in the near future but you can always give them feedback.

And what can I do when I receive a viber call? How can I end the call ? Any solution, or must I Wait the other to end the call anytime ?
Its look crazy this dumb problem
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Because I use the S-View cover what I do is close it and open it again and what is actually does is wake the screen. Seems like a "wake screen" bug to me, and I don't think that the proximity sensor in the settings menu can help with that, it probably works only with stock dialer and not always with third party apps like Viber. So I don't know if you try to press the power once in order to close the black screen and then open it again if it helps.
