Any one in the LA area running a custom rom on the 6p while using project fi? I just ordered my phone thru bestbuy (12 mo no financing) and singed up with Fi, sim on the way. Im most interested in connectivity and the consistancy of it.
Wrong place to ask bro always us Q&A you have to read everything

I'm not in LA. I live in the tri-state area. My normal carrier is Verizon. Testing out using dirty unicorn 10 and Project Fi.
When I go to work the signal drops to 3G but everywhere else was LTE.
Everything that I need functions well (streaming music in the car, random Google look ups, netflix, etc).
I actually used Netflix over H+ connectivity by my job and it streamed just fine.
I have had project fi connect me to open WiFi and encrypt the connection.
It works as advertised. If I didn't have unlimited data in Verizon, I would be compelled to make the switch.
Project Fi and GCS work fine, but you need to make sure that GCS is in priv-apps for it to properly work (esp important for CM based roms).
For the past 2 months, I've used nearly every custom rom, whether it be AOSP, CM, or CAF based, and found that all of them will work with Fi. Band switching is no longer an issue with CM/CAF based roms. The "best" rom with Project Fi really comes down to personal preference - I would say test them all out, have fun, and see which you like best.
Check out the Vanir + Commotio thread - that is currently my favorite ROM out of the bunch (CAF based). I posted a gapps there that has working GCS and Project Fi.
For AOSP-based roms, personally I think PN or Screw'd are the best of the bunch.
Good luck!

So I have poked around and looked, But do not see a good "Best Rom" out there.
As of today's date, and the ROMs out at their current version, Which do you feel are better? (In terms of Everything working like it should; ex Wifi Calling, UI Speed, Internet Speed, Battery Life, Customization Capabilities, and whatever you might like to add...)
I would like to know simply because I have had my rooted Note 4 for awhile, But have not put a ROM on it. Today i decided was the day to put a ROM on, and am torn between a few.
Please let us know what you enjoy and why!
The best rom i think...
Like I said previously.. I am torn between Infamous, Hyperdrive, CM12, and cmRemix. In that order i do believe.
I believe Infamous is in the lead in my book due to the fact that wifi calling IS WORKING. (Work around for it to work..) Given i don't use it that much, I would still like the capability.
But torn because i love the customization that Hyperdrive offers..
cmRemix is in there next due to the fact that i WANT a lollipop based Note 4. Plus you choose with Gapps to install. (I prefer PGapps because you can choose which apps you want to get.. kinda..)
And CM12 is well.. CM. Always used them in the past and loved their work/customizations..
Im torn! Lets help each other out!

I am not sure why you find it so outstanding. WiFi calling works in most if not all stock based ROMs. FireKat and Dynamic Kat are ones I tried and WiFi calling works there without any workarounds.
There is a reason we do not have a "best rom" thread...because they are against the rules of xda.
For instance, you may have just open up a can of rom with infamous being best due to wifi calling working....
despite wifi calling working on every single tmobile stockbased rom, unless you flash a KERNEL that breaks it
Is opening a cell match of debate. lol
There's a nother thread around here that I seem to overlook, I think it is call what are you running or something along those lines.
Think of it as a voting poll to get an idea of what is good and what isn't so good per your standard. if I find it will link you
FireKat is what I've been using. No crazy icons, fonts, splash pages, etc. It all just works, works well and quick. Wifi calling always worked. And the kicker here is Titanium always works. Never locks up or stalls when restoring all 250+ apps.
If guys were honest and wrote what doesnt work, then there'll probably wouldn't be a thread like this. One doenst have the time to try them all. I tried my fair share and finally found a good one. If I weren't to use FireKat, I would just stay Stock because it works.

These kind of thread devolve into a flame fest, and for that reason we do not allow them........ just keeps things more peaceful here in the XDA world.
The best Rom is the one you like, the one that works best for you. So..........

This is AquariOS
Alright, I've heard enough! Let's make it official: AquariOS for Nexus 5x has been released!
The maintainer position is still open, and I'll transfer the thread to whomever ends up maintaining.
Interested in maintaining bullhead for AquariOS?
You must...
1. NOT be a jerky ass hat (aka be cool, respectful, and patient)
2. Own a Nexus 5x
It is preferred that you...
1. Are able to build your own releases
2. Are available via Hangouts
If you have interest in maintaining what is said to be one of the smoothest ROMs, with a unique custom settings dashboard, and many features (while still being as stable as stock) send me a PM!
Thanks!
Oooo thanks ...

i would like to be the maintainer,
Flashes and loads ok with OpenGapps Aroma (I like near stock) and seems very smooth and quick with all the customisation I usually look for.
Wont stay on mine as I hate the Pixel look. Prefer to remain True Nexus style but that is purely my preference.
Good luck
Rom is completely fine.. everything's working from yesterday till now..
I currently have a Galaxy Note 4 and have been having some ridiculous issues with the device in terms of functionality. Any custom ROM has broken some combination of bluetooth, safetynet, mms, mobile data, and/or the camera. Stock ROMs have literally no hotspot option in the ROM, no matter which I flash. I'm getting tired of trying to play patchwork, so I want to jump ship.
I am interested in the V20, but can't find clear answers on what I'm looking for, so I figured I'd ask here.
For the LG V20 Sprint Variant [LS997] is there:
-A hotspot mod for unlimited tethering through mobile data for a stock ROM?
OR
-A custom ROM that is known to have full functionality (SMS/MMS/Bluetooth/Hotspot) all working (and the ROM is designed for/compatible with the Sprint variant)?
Either passing safetynet is a huge bonus, but not required.
Hate to say but this help area sucks

Hi,
I was wondering if Android 10 based ROMs from maybe our favourite devs, say the unofficial Lineage OS 17, RR8 etc would be available and developed upon in the future.
I know the phone is getting old, and many people might have jumped ship towards newer ones, so are some of the devs still rocking the V20, or at least interested in developing for it.
It's hard to get a unified voice to predict, but in case someone knows some of the devs, it'd be nice to hear from them about this.
The biggest problem with those roms will be the lack of volte and wifi calling, those things are already a necessity to me.
I just bought my mint v20 tmobile version and frankly I am stunned by the lack of devlopment for this phone! For what many deem the last of the great flagship phone ever made ...it is stunning. I am comong from a leeco lemax 2 which has an extremely active development forum, I was so hoping to be able to install the latest greatest android and pixel OS ...but it is like a freaking ghost town. I know I would donate for a good OS on the latest android. Sad.
Alpha Omega might work on one, and it would be great. He might be our only hope.
Even without voLTE or WiFi calling, it'd be awesome to see some or even one Android Q ROM!
Personally I'd love a Paranoid Android ROM now they're back
Hi, im trying to ressurect my nexus 6 now. Im seaeching in xda and i found there is 2 custom ROM android 10 for nexus 6 which is Lineage OS 17.1 and Crdroid. Now i cant choose between those 2. Can someone tell me pros and cons between those 2? I prefer having smooth expe6

CrDroid has a wealth of customisations, including a very effective Face Unlock. It's also (for me) totally stable.
LOS is also stable. Technically they are both excellent ROMs, and I guess it's just a case of personal preference.
Colt OS, which I loved in its Android 9 version but haven't tried in Android 10, is undoubtedly also worth a look.

So you have experience with crdroid and lineage? What did you prefer?

I've used all three ROMs I've mentioned. I loved Colt 9, but installed CrDroid before Colt 10 came out and I'm more than happy with it. It's the one I use and recommend only because it has more customisations (I think) than LOS. I have LOS 17.1 on my Nexus 5 and it's great. But I suspect, based on my usage of Colt 9, that Colt customisations will also be great. I just like CrDroid 's Face Unlock so I'm sticking with it.
Two comments:
1. LineageOS is the main place for the device specific code. Other roms mostly copy that from the LOS repositories. The result is that the different roms tend to build on the same foundation (and a very good foundation that is).
2. VoLTE and wifi-calling don't work on any Android 9 or 10 roms. (Though we hope that @wavedashdoc will help us with that at some point in the future). If you need that, stay on an old version. In particular, you need VoLTE for voice calls if your carrier has shut down their 3G net.
Is Verizon (or total wireless / straight talk mvno under them) one that has shut down 3g Network?
