Hi all,
"An error has occurged with the fingerprint sensor. If this message appears repeatedly, restart your device." Just appeared for me on the s7 edge. It was working just fine unail I decided I wanted to add more fingerprints... I've tried deleting the cache and data from the fingerprints app in the app manager. I have yet to try a hard reset. Anyone come across this issue yet? Looked at other forums and saw that this was a problem for previous galaxy s models. Thanks for any help.

So my S7e has been getting a strange error that no one else seems to be having. Upon unlocking the phone, the lockscreen sends a message about the fingerprint sensor not responding. After i tap ok the sensor works fine and unlocks the phone. I thought this may have been related to the march security update as apparently it damages the sensor on the nexus devices, however i have yet to see another with the same issue. Ive already tried a factory reset and clearing cache/data on the fingerprint app as well as disabling doze, all to no avail. Any help would be appreciated, and i cant tell if this is a HW or SW issue. Thanks in advance.

So I've been using SGS7 for about a month and I havent had a problem with it....untill yesterday the recent apps button is always active like I'm pressing it all the time.Is this the phone problem or will there be an update or how can i fix it

Phone reboots whenever I click on Stories in Instagam app.
Tried rebooting, clearing data, disabling and then updating the app but nothing seems to be working.
I'm on S7 Edge Exynos with a 64GB card, not rooted.
Any solution would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem! It's driving me nuts.
Stories worked for the first couple days after it came out, but now my phone restarts the moment I click on any story. I think the problem began after my phone received an update overnight. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Instagram--nothing.

Recently, my fingerprint reader has been acting up, and I've been unable to figure out why.
It either works as when it was new, or it doesn't register at all when I put my finger on it or move it around. It's not the same error as when the lockscreen gives an error message about fingerprint reader not responding either. It just... doesn't read the fingerprints. It does respond to me depressing the button, but it still doesn't read the print.
Apps using fingerprints have the same issue. Nothing happens.
I've tried reboots and clearing cache, neither work.
A colleague of mine has an S6, and recently he has had the exact same issue.

Hello, i'm having a strange issue with my Note Fan Edition. Yesterday it was working fine, today i'm unable to access my phone. When i wake it up from stand-by, it displays the error " The fingerprint sensor is not responding,Try again later. Also when i try to type in my password, it says that it is incorrect. Has anyone else encountered this issue. Note: while running Nougat,i haven't had any issues with the phone, this issue occurs on Oreo. What can i do to gain access to my device again?
