I just done a factory reset twice and still doing the same thing is it my phone or what? Im on the latest software. Thanks!

Could be an app that you installed that either you never opened until now or one that you installed recently. You could try to boot into safe mode and see if it improves.
Safe mode: With the phone on, press the power button. Hold the Power off toast to get to safe mode.

I thinking it was the facebook app but it didnt start doing it until i downloaded nova launcher and adding themes
Ugh, Facebook has caused more problems with my phones. My last phone was an S5 and by the end Facebook took like 5 minutes to install and sometimes after all that never really installed or jacked up the phone really bad. I had hoped with the all but pure Android experience with the Moto x pure edition it would work better, but it still takes awhile and it drinks battery while installing.

If factory reset didn't solve your issue then the phone could be defective. Did you buy from a store such as Best Buy? If so and the store purchased from has a return policy (I.e. Best Buy is 14 days) then take it back to the store as they will most likely give you a new unit on the spot. Otherwise you have to deal with Motorola warranty support which takes time.
Have you got your sdcard set to internal? Move the apps that are slow back to internal of that's the case.
---------- Post added at 02:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:32 PM ----------
Once you have set sdcard to internal everything you install after that gets put on the sdcard and if your sdcard isn't a rapid U3 sdcard you'll get lag with the apps, so go into storage click on sdcard then click apps and lets say Facebook is there click it then click change and move from sdcard to internal.
---------- Post added at 02:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:35 PM ----------
Some of the apps like games are fine on the sdcard as they load into ram so don't usually slow down but stuff like twitter, Facebook and Instagram use the cache which is located on mem.
I figured it out after I took it back and got an exchange. The brand new SD card I bought about a month ago the phone said it was low performance and would make apps act up. Not sure why. It worked fine on my lg v10 guess I'll have to get a better one lol
Unless you need to absolutely expand your storage for apps and cache, don't format the SD card to use as internal storage. U3 SD cards are expensive (unless you find a good sale) and for the price it is cheaper to upgrade your phone to the higher storage capacity.

Can anyone else who has an Xperia Play help me out here? I got the phone this past Tuesday. At that time, it loaded up rather quickly. Now when I turn it on, it takes over 3 minutes to load up. I literally turned my Nexus S on at the same time and I could have powered it on and off 3 times in the amount it took for the Play to load. It sat on the Sony Ericsson screen for like 2 minutes and then another 1 minute after the SE circle logo appeared.
A few details:
1. I am currently in the US on vacation using my Japanese SIM card. Thus I am roaming. The data is turned off however the phone network obviously isn't. When the SIM is out of the unit it loads up much faster.
2. The phone is not rooted.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any way to check if there is so kind of malicious program or something that was installed?
My xperia start up load time is aproximated to 3 minutes too.
Jep, same here. The OS is verry fast after the 3 min boot...
It takes a while to boot. Samsung I know have been targeting efforts to get the boot faster. Top of my head I remember them talking about trying to get the fastest boot time on the galaxy II.

I believe some Samsung and HTC phones are not actually "rebooting". They are going into some sort of hibernate.
My buddy has an HTC mytouch, and he was having crummy performance. I looked at his uptime, an it was over 1500 hours. I told him that's his problem, he should probably reboot.
When he did, I noticed it rebooted very fast. Performance was still in the crapper, and curiosity had ne check his uptime even tho it should have been reset after the reboot. It was still at over 1500 hrs. Then I realized it didn't actually reboot, just went into a hibernate explaininng the blistering fast reboot time.

WOW...so everyone else is having this issue as well? But it must have something to do with the amount of free storage on the phone, because when it was over 100MB it loaded up much quicker I've noticed.
Also on a side note, with respect to phones and hibernation...
My Desire HD has this issue. If you select "Shut Down" then it takes about all of 10 seconds to start back up. Yet if you select "Reboot" it takes almost as long as the Play. Clearly shut down is hibernation, especially since if applications have crashed or stopped working, shut down does absolutely nothing and thus I need to literally reboot to get them running again.
Finally, in my thinking there was something wrong with my Play, I formatted both the memory and the SD card. Can anyone confirm what was pre-installed on the SD card that I have lost? I noticed Crash Bandicoot was stored there but it can be re-downloaded simply by running the application. I know there are some sample pictures and music and possibly video as well, but anything important?

Samsung and HTC 'cheat' quite a bit when it comes to startup times. If you compare the time the Nexus One take with that of the Desire, the Desire is much faster, despite the hardware being the same. The same holds true with the Galaxy S and Nexus S.
From my experience with the Nexus S, I'd say the Play is VERY close to Stock Android 2.3.2. Sony Ericsson just added a few apps here and there and skinned the UI a little, but it feels, works and behaves a lot like the 2.3.2 on the Nexus S. Sooo... I'd say the long boot time is normal, and probably for the best for the device.
boot times are about 3 min as well.... however I find this to be a non-issue to me.
how often are you rebooting your phone though? Mine might go for weeks without being restarted... pending battery doesn't die on me of course

I noticed the boot times too, expecially since I don't really charge it much, I run it out and swap batteries as I have an excellent spare battery and charger also know as an x10 alway 3 minutes or so though, probably part due to drm checks, and part due to the storage almost full and it having to go through all the apps and initialize them.
To be honoust i have the phone for a few weeks now and only turned it off and then on for a few times. Boot time doesnt actually bother me.

i don't have any extra sd card. i store the stuff at my built in storage. but if the problem is fix only you take out the sd card, what for we need extra storage?
It's just the file indexer. Obviously it needs to rescan the entire storage when you add new files. Sounds like it runs into a corrupt file it can't index.

Any news guys about this bug. It is really annoying as the phone is almost unusable. I tried installing my apps on phone only without SD. The same problem appeared. I even exchanged my Note 3 with a new one from our local SAMSUNG store and guess what, exactly the same message poping up on the new phone.
Has any of you tried to root its Note 3 and freeze Indexservice with Titanium Backup? Any feedback would be appreciated

I'm having exactly the same issue and having trawled the forums I'm yet to find a fix. I have a Galaxy note 3 and, with or without 64gb memory card, the 'Unfortunately IndexService has stopped' message continues to roll and I get a temporary freeze everytime it does (roughly every couple of minutes!). It's draining my battery and rendering the phone almost useless. I'm stuck for what to do and would be very very grateful for any help or suggestions. Thanks

I have exactly this same situation. I also have the 64GB card so I am thinking that it is related to that. That card is full and 70% of that is probably pdf documents. I am thinking that it is choking while trying to index all of that data.
I am familiar with indexers and I also suspect that there is a absolutely massive index file somewhere on the unit - most likely in primary memory. I'm interested to know what types of files you have on your card. If empty then it would seem that the indexing service has a problem with 64GB cards.
I will also confirm that it drains the battery so quickly you can almost watch the % tick down. I completely drained a full battery in 3.5 hours on a flight from Detroit last night. Without an external battery to charge from I would have been SOL half way through the flight.
I have same problem for the second note 3 strange that Samsung can't solve this issues my phone almost unusable
Mine settled down eventually but I swapped my sim (I run several different ones) & I get the issue come back. .. that's effectively telling me I may have to live with it after each swap of SIM. For example to write this post I had to wait twice for phone to unfreeze

This bug is complete and utter bs. The indexing is a miniscule benefit when it works correctly. I am shocked that no reviewer caught onto this problem as the first thing I did when getting the device was move over my 64 gb micro-sd from my note II. I lost power in the gym tonight after only 7 hours on-time which is absurd given how my Note II lasted easily 2-3 days before and how every review seems to say that the Note 3 has better battery life.
I had to re format my sd card and so far no issues with index services. Wish there was a better way around it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda premium
same problem here, but after 2 days of trying, I solve it. I had a corrupt file on my SD and the index service was trying to index that file in a loop. After removing the corrupt file, all works.

I think there is a problem with the SD card reader. That notification means that the SD card unmounted and re-mounted itself. So it thinks you just inserted the SD card.

the adoptable storage was a blow, but at least we can still install apps on the micro sd.
Om thinking of moving to this device from the Note 4 which I love but was getting these chronic dismounts w a Samsung 64 gb evo class 10 sdhc, lss, the card was bad after less than 2 years, have an ancient 1gb sandisk class 6 in it temporarily and no issues. Now Handset will not be recognized on any pc as usb mtp just charging. I think its the micro usb jack, even though its had minimal use bc I wirelessly charge, didnt first year. I think that is a poor protocol as it adds a vunerable vector for all kinds of headaches. Anyhoo how would you guys compare the 2 phones? Removable memory is non negotiable for me as was removable battery, but I'm willing to forgo the latter for this form factor. Im a heavy user, gamer WOT Blitz addict. Sorry if I derailed a bit.

I rebooted and it hasn't showed up since the first day it ever showed up
Adoptable storage came at the urging of Google. LG G5 doesn't have it either. Adoptable storage was memory for devices with low storage amounts. Presumably, 32GB isn't considered low storage.
Mine keeps doing it. When trying to put music on the sd card, it will keep saying sd has stopped working. Brand new sandisk ultra memory card too. Will work until I set the phone down and phone shakes a little. Will not play music on sd card either.
---------- Post added at 01:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:57 AM ----------
I took the ultra card out and put in a $6 128 GB card and it works now.
My note 4 is 32 gig and I get low mem warnings if I dont load apps pics music movies to an sdhc. Expandable storage is always a plus.

Done that. Even got a new SD card and reseated it and still does it.
Mine does come every few hours, 5 or 6, not too bad, but would prefer this is not happening, as it seems like the sd cards are like inserted and ejected improperly, I'm afraid this will bring damage or problems with the sd cards later on.
Mine comes every reboot. Annoying.

This is the intended behavior, if it didn't show at boot time, that would indicate no sd card is present. The ones seeing it randomly throughout the day are the ones with issues. Either the issue is the card is not seated properly, the card is damaged (or contains corrupt media files), or there is something physically wrong with the phones. It is showing this because it believes the card was removed and reinserted. I have not seen it, except after booting, and I have had a card in it since day one.

Disabling the notification does nothing to help these people solve the actual problem. If the device is unmounting the sd card randomly, there is a problem. Imagine you were recording a movie to the sd card, and it disappeared from the system, not only would you lose your video, most likely the phone woukd crash and massive corruption would occur on the sd. There is a great potential for data loss here, in fact some may already be occurring. No file system likes to be uncleanly dismounted repeatedly, eventually corruption occurs.
Hello i just bought this amazing phone after coming from Note 5 with android 6.0.1, and it really bugs me that all the bugs i had in 6.0.1 are still there.
The first one is wierd performance in some 3D games, mainly talking about angry birds 2 that slows down after playing for a bit, same happens on Note 5 on 6.0.1 but NOT in lollipop.
Audio cuts in half when playing games, it seems like a new gameservice feature, so far to combat it and the weird color change when launching a game, is to disable the gameservice via package disable pro.
Some animations are not smooth and either too fast or too slow.
What bugs did u encounter?

every Android phone have slow Play store since it`s not using cache.
I had 2 issues (well 3) but not sure its Android 6 or Samsung Phone issues:
a) I had to try 3 different microSD cards till one worked - they keep showing up as corrupted (even tho they work ok in other devices) i noticed the bigger the SD storage is the worse it performs (had to use a 16GB as the 64GB Samsung card didnt work - the phone would see it but wont let me create or move any files on it
b) probably a result of the a) issue - as my camera had settings to save pix on the SD card - my camera stopped working - everytime i opened it it would say: failed to open
tried everything but only a factory reset fix it
c) the phone got frozen on the weather page and literally nothing was working - no back buttons, up/down buttons, power off - nothing - it stayed like that 15 min until i performed a battery removal simulation (hold volume down and power button for 20 sec)
Other than that ALL ok - screen is weirdly sensitive - sometimes i touch an app and it acts like long touch?!!
A bit scared of these hiccups
I reported to USA support all those issues, as mine local support stinks bad. it seems that camera app is the major complain and have issues with that, a fix probably will be soon and hopefully will eliminate over processing with HDR.
Now i hope they will release fixes asap for all other issues as well.

Are you sure you don't just have a bad phone? Using multiple cards and having issues with all of them seems like there might be a hardware issue with the card reader.

But as already said, it may be that the card reader of your device is simply faulty.

I've done everything
Cleared caches/data, cleared caches from recovery, factory reset, tested the router, everything.
The WiFi works fine when I browse the Internet or download from Galaxy Apps store.
I've solved the issue to my wifi problem after fiddling around. Turns out my router was relying on the DHCP server to assign IPv6 addresses and there was some sort of issue with that, so I switched it to auto-configuration and now the Play Store works again
Same here

You should check your router settings and make sure it's assigning IPv6 addresses automatically. That was the cause of my issue. It occurred to me after I connected to my university's wifi with no problems.

This weekend I attended a school play for one of my kids. Since it was the first weekend with the phone we took lots of pictures. Once we got home though none of the pictures were retrievable. They all had a blank grey photo screen with a ! at the button. I tried to get at it with my PC but same results. Now I got a pissed off spouse and no answers to how this would of happened. Also it was not on a MicroSD. (one is on the way). All data was saved on the device's memory.
If anyone has a trick of a fix for this, it would be greatly appreciated.

It was the kingston 64 gb from the costco bundle. I bought a samsung pro +128 from bestbuy($89) and hope I never have this issue again.
I've taken a picture and had it just not save, but nothing like that corrupted grey screen you got.
Also I know you weren't using an SD card but when you get it I would highly recommend that you keep save to device on and transfer to your card later as needed. I found that the camera app stutters hard when opening or when saving a picture if it's straight to the card. I have a top class Sandisk 128gb card but still use the transfer method because I love the speed of the camera. Not quite as fast as last year's but 1.8 seconds from double click of the home to saving a picture is about on par with the 1.5 seconds of the s6/edge/edge+/note5.
Same crap
I have the same issues. But it does random photos. I have had the phone since the 2nd with tmobile. Since then I have taken aproximately 50 photos. Over the last 4 days they all have slowly changed to that grey crap thing and the pics are gone. WTF samsung........... I added a sd card today, even though its set to, it still dont put any photos on the card. And I still lose them to this crap glitch. Begining to really hate this phone beyond measure.
Corrupt file
I have a 128gb sd card, using the Verizon model. I took a pic and noticed it not saving to sd cards dcim. So I reboot and it to says my sd card is corrupted in storage. I just popped it in my laptop and deleted the last photo in dcim folder. It seems okay again and didn't have to format again. I hope this doesn't happen often.
I'm having the same problem with my new S7, it's July 1st, 2017 and last week all photos from about Monday onward started not showing up and just have this gray !
I took a photo again today and I looked at it and it looked fine and now I can't retrieve it. Is there any fix for this problem? I've tried reindexing, reboot 5 times, shutting down complete.
Same problem here
I am facing the same problem. Did you find solutions? If so please help me too
Ive actually been surprised at how I haven't needed to fuss at all with storing photos. It prompted me once to store on the sd and thats what its done with every photo.
My first thought would be the sdcard. I was lucky to find a high speed 128 gb Samsung in the clearance section ($20)
Test another sdcard. Im pretty sure its not a software issue.
