Main camera is not working anymore - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So the main camera and flashlight of my Moto X Play just stopped working.
The camera app don't give me the option to switch cameras anymore and the flashlight shortcut is gone.
Only the front camera works.
Any ideas?

yes, you'll lose everything so do a backup. and factory wipe from recovery
did you do a factory wipe after updating to 6.0 ?? if not maybe that is causing the problem.

I did a factory wipe but it didn't solved it. Any other idea?

How to fully reset device?

Dear SGS2 users,
I'm experiencing some problems.. The device is getting REALLY slow. When I try to open a picture taken with the SGS2 on the device itself it takes about 1 MINUTE before it shows the picture.. And opening SMS/Contacts also takes time.
I'd like to factory reset my device.. I tried a reset yesterday, but it didn't wipe any files, just sms/contacts. Can someone help me? I'm not rooted
Thans in advance

No it won't. But you should really try get a backup of it
But if you are using stock recovery and are unrooted, then you can wipe fine
Old stock ROMs did have an issue where they would not boot properly after a wipe, unless you re-ODIN the stock ROM again.

Put this code in your dialer:
*2767*3855#
This will do a complete rebuild of the device and wipe internal storage. So phone will be like when you first took it out the box! ;-)

Factory reset on Nexus 4

Just wondering if anyone knows if doing a factory reset on the n4 will erase all photos saved on the internal storage? I wasn't sure since all devices I have had in the past had an SD card and only reset the system settings and erased apps but never erased anything in the SD card. If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, its erases everything(photos, music, videos, sms). Make sure you back up everything.

Thanks. Kinda what I thought but wanted to double check.
If you factory reset from a custom recovery it will *not* erase the internal SD card.

Just making sure here as I had the same doubt: so if I have flashed CWM recovery and use its "version" of factory reset, I don't have to worry about first backing up all of my user files, correct? (I'm preparing to flash ParanoidAndroid and want to be sure here...)
Hi,
I found this post but it didn't really answer my question.
I am on Google' stock rom and I want to erase everything - from apps to files on internal storage. If I go to settings -> backup and reset -> factory reset, will it do?
Thanks.

How to do hard reset?

[Q] Rooting broke my Google Now Search

Hello,
Since I rooted my Nexus 4 when I try to use google now i keep getting the error " Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped."
What can I do to correct this?
Thank you for any and all help
Try clearing cache and dalvik cache first, if that don't work delete Search app and download again from Play Store.
Thank you for the reply.
I tried all of the above but it still does it.
When you say uninstall, do you mean "updates" or completely remove the app from the system?
Thanks!

You can try to do a factory reset, remember to do a backup before.
If you do only the factory reset (wipe data) you don't have to root again but maybe you have to reinstall the superuser management app (like Supersu or superuser) if it wasn't installed in system.
If this won't work try to flash again the rom.

Don't overreact, this is common issue, I had it yesterday. To fix it just boot into stock recovery, clear cache, then perform a factory reset from there.

I would suggest taking a backup and then do a factory reset and not restore anything. If that doesn't help just restore your backup. If it does work you could try to just install some apps at a time to try to figure out what made the problem.

I'm not sure. Did you make a clean install on all those Rom's? In case you don't know what that means, did you wipe data and cache between flashing them? If you did you could try flashing a factory image to see if that helps. If that doesn't help then as far as I know it is a hardware problem. This is a guide for flashing a factory image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312.
