Fission + Blur Camera?

Alright i just Got Fission 2.2.1 And its pretty damn Amazing. There is one problem that it really isent a BIG deal but eh i liked the Camera that was on stock with the touch focus. I used a DX_Camera Add on but the camera that it installs seems to be different then the one that i used to have. Is there a way i can get the Stock Froyo Droid X camera with 720p and touch focusing?

The one in the Addons Folder called DX_Camera is the stock 2.2 camera

i installed that one but it doesnt let me do touch to focus? is there like something special i have to do to activate that?

I have never been able touch to focus using the blur camera. It always just moves my focal point.

The dx camera isn't in the addons folder that comes with 2.2.1. I just looked, b/c the blur camera definitely took way better pictures.

Yah Thats why i was trying to look for it, like a Droid X froyo drump but i cant seem to find it. Even just the Blur Camera APK would be nice. I tried the One found in the Addon folder for 2.1 but it just isent the same

Regarding the quality of the pictures with the Blur camera in the DX_Camera.zip file press Menu and change the setting from Widescreen to 8MP.

You should also install the D2 gallery add-on. The photos look better than the android gallery for some reason. I initially thought the camera on Fission was crap.

Can you please provide a link to said thread? I don't see what you are talking about, no mention of camera in the fission threads I saw.
Or, can someone please just upload a blur camera apk or zip. I'm sure the handful of people in this thread aren't the only ones searching around for it.

Hey, awesome! Thanks for the file. Isn't dropbox a wonderful thing?

It's friggin AWESOME. Even better than bluetooth file transfer between my computer and phone (especially for LARGE files).
That, and the photo thing is far better than older services like photobucket and imageshack.

Check the settings in the camera and make sure face detection is NOT checked. That should let you manually focus the camera.

Google Chrome Beta for ICS Now Available

Google released a beta of Chrome for 4.0 devices. It looks pretty awesome so far. Supports sync with desktop chrome and the UI is beautiful.

I like the Tab UI, very smooth too!

Chrome for Android! Just installed it, it's really nice.

I like it as well. I have used Chrome Desktop for years, so I the integration is really handy. The biggest thing that is keeping me from removing Dolphin HD is flash support. Will have to keep it around for those legacy sites that refuse to switch to HTML5.

Is there a way to clear out the browsing history on exit like Mini Dolphin & Dolphin have? This is one of the reason I am not using this on a regular basis..

it's google freaking chrome. supports sync with your desktop browser if you use chrome which most of us do. it's a very awesome UI, and just a good browser in general.

Your /datadata partition is probably getting filled up, try moving chrome to the SD card and see if that works.

Lol, yes, I started getting "You are getting low on space" but my "Storage" said I was only using about 600MB of over 1GB [internal, /data/ partition].
So, can you please tell me... why is /datadata/ only 100-something MB? Can I increase it?
Does moving an app, move it's data to the sdcard too? [into .android_secure/*.asec, right?]

/datadata is only 158 MB because of hardware limitations, but it's much faster memory. You can increase it by symlinking it to /data/data, but your phone is going to get slow. THS has a fix for this, it will make its way to the other ICS ROMs soon.
I figure I should also say the fix isn't 100%, but as long as you don't have multiple apps taking up huge amounts of data it should work pretty good. (Having two browsers installed both taking up 40MB of data would be considered "huge amounts of data")

Ohh, so /datadata isn't just another partition, it's a separate faster flash storage?
And I guess that means, moving apps to SD makes them go faster, eh?

I believe that's true, although I'm kind of just learning all of this so I'm not positive.
I'm not sure if it's faster, test it and let me know though.
And those are both the same thing I thought...they just move the app data that's stored in /datadata to the SD...I'm not 100% on that.

Okay so I redownlaoded Chrome on wifi, and the "Move to SD Card" is disabled.

That's because not all apps have Move to SD support, this is where the 3rd party apps like Titanium Backup and Apps2SD probably come in handy. I know I can move any app I want to the SD with Titanium Backup Pro, I've never tried Apps2SD though.

ohh.. so should I get the "app2sd" app in the market?
edit.. I moved skype, and some big games to my sdcard, the the "low storage" message isn't there. And chrome still force closes.. :\

Like I said I've only ever used Titanium Backup Pro, so I couldn't tell you if Apps2SD works.
The warning only shows up when you have 15MB or less of free space, chrome beta takes up roughly 40MB of space.

Duplicate storage?

So I am cleaning up my phone when I notice I have these two folders that are identical.
Main question is, which one is safe to delete without making my phone go crazy?

Definitely not. Leave it alone; everyone has those folders and I assure you they do not exist twice.

What makes me scratch my head is that both folders are the exact same size with the same content so I just don't understand why my phone needs double since it shows my storage at 17GB and want to free up some more space

One is a link to the other. They are not duplicated, they are one and the same files

Alright, think about it this way. Open your file explorer and check the size of either of the folders by looking at their properties. For instance, mine both show that they add up to 10GB. I've also got about 3-4GB of space being used for backups and my system partition, and even more for apps. So my guess? Probably using at least 20GB of my storage. Keep in mind that I have a 32GB phone. Now if I go to settings > storage, it shows that I have 12GB of free space, so it all adds up. If you do the math, I couldn't possibly be using 20GB total for both of those folders, so they have to just be different paths to the same location, and yours probably is, too.
My conclusion: if you delete one of those folders, nothing good can come of it. Look elsewhere and account for your system itself (I see you are using the stock firmware, which is quite large due to LG bloatware) and the apps you use. Check Settings > Storage and see what's using so much space.

Thanks for confirming everyone. I guess I need to browse my phone system with my PC to find where the real bloat is at. Yes the LG apps do take up a bit of space.

You might consider finding an AOSP ROM that fits your needs if you're looking for a bit more space. They tend to be a lot smaller than stock roms. Also, try clearing your cache.

Knock on and the remote app have been ported and work very well. Check out Mahdi ROM, it works great on my G2. You can find the ported remote app in the Themes and Apps forum. Good luck!

To everyone who is using a 64 GB and above card, pop it in your computer, format it in NTFS and then put it in your phone again. It's still not visible in the storage settings, but file managers like OnePlus's Files and ES File Explorer are able to recognize, read and write on it. Wait for OnePlus to fix the exFAT support and the storage settings bug...

The phone can't directly write on the SD (for example moving apps or else..) for now.

The first time I started my OPX, it asked for the Oxygen 2.1.2 update and after completing it, when I started the camera for the first time, I always got blurred picture in my rear camera, the front camera seems fine and brilliant. Attached are two files to show my Software version and the blurry camera interface. What should I do now?

I was trying the camera only cover, while the back cover was full back covered, now working like a charm.

I formated my Samung EVO 64gb MicroSD card as NTFS on my pc and put it back into the phone. Works fine. Will not show up in "Storage" but will show up in file manager and any other app. Also it didn't take more than a few seconds for the OS to find it this time compared to before.

No, pictures are going to the internal storage. I use the sdcard mainly for music and podcast files, this relieved the internal storage in my usecase enough.

Camera questions

Hey guys,
I'm intending to buy a new moto x pure for a relatively cheap price in my country and I've been reading about poor camera so can anyone tell me is it true??
Also I've been reading about the absence of camera2 api and the unability to install manual camera apps is it true??? And wasn't there any update to fix it???and is there anyway to enable it without having to root the phone??
And finally which 3rd party camera apps do you prefer?? And does google camera work fine and are its pictures better than stock app or worse???

Google Camera is no longer available, it has been pulled from the Play Store... When it was there, it worked fine.
Personally, I use Camera ZOOM FX... not that it is much better than anything else, but I bought it years ago on sale for 25¢, it works quite well, and I am familiar with it. It has a multitude of adjustments, although it is not using the Camera2 API.
The Manual Camera Compatibility app fails on all items it checks, the phone does not support the Camera2 API and unless Moto adds support in Nougat, we likely won't get.
This is not to say that the Moto X doesn't take good pictures... personally I think the picture quality is excellent for a smartphone, far better than most of the other phones in the family except my son's S7 Edge (which has a fantastic camera). The only real drawbacks in my opinion are the stock camera app (which is bad, wish we had the new Moto Camera app, it is much better) and the lack of OIS.

Actually that's the point I really don't like the camera app that is there in the moto x!!! it really sucks But if You install the google app apk will it work??

Sorry... I will not install an app that requires me to enable Unknown Sources right now. Perhaps someone else can test it for you.

I've tried Google Camera on my Style but it faces crashes at times. I've installed HTC camera (new) and it works good. Pictures are really sharp.

You can download the stock moto camera from the play store which I feel works really well and takes great pictures.

Umm... that is the app that is included with the phone, it is not good. The new "4th generation" phone Moto camera app is quite good but unfortunately it isn't usable on a stock device.

If you mean the G4 Apps thread in the Themes/Apps section that just goes to another link where you can download flashables and APKs, the APK doesn't work... Says something like "Your device is not supported" and exits.

I totally understand you concern, I downloaded the original apk from this post and than modified the file myself to enable professional mode and the debug menu.
i have yet to find a way to download apk directly from the play store but i keep looking from time to time.

You should find a new professional mode option in the camera mode menu found in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
If you don't see the option it means that the ro.product.device setting in your build.prop file is not been set to one of the valid device names that will enable professional mode in this modified version of the app.
The list of device name that will enable professional mode in this version of the app are: athene, griffin, addison, clark, osprey, luk, kinzie and otus
From the 5 professional mode settings I discovered that the "Shutter speed" setting does not appear to work the on stock android 6.0.1 and somebody else reported that the "ISO" setting does not appear to work on android 6.0.0, "Manual focus", "White balance" and "Exposure" all appear to work as expected.

I used the mod from here:

and the FreeDcam app and my MXP is happily shooting manual/raw. defcomg even created a flat field correction file for the cam sensor. This little camera is producing images that rival those of my Canon 7D.

So I bought a moto x pure few days ago but I've been really busy moving to a new home in the city where I will attend university;

About the new phone I like the performance, camera is great but not as great as you would expect a 21mpx camera to be I mean it's sharp but details are Kind of blurry if you zoom in so much and dynamic range is unsatisfactory completed to my brother's Nexus 5x camera!
Best thing about it is the front panel! Front facing camera, screen and speakers (they're so damn loud)
Camera app isn't as bad as I thought but still not so good!
It just needs getting used to coming from my Nexus 5, Google camera was way more comfortable and makes a lot more sense! The only Google camera app that worked for me is the old one I Mean the one from KitKat times! Still a nice alternative with a slightly better color reproduction!
So if you find a way to make camera 2 api work or any better camera app please let me know

BTW ISO and Shutter speed do not work, changing them won't affect the picture however white balance and manual focus work great!
