Flashing Open GApps with AROMA installer reboot. - Galaxy Grand 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I always use Open GApps with AROMA installer as my GApps of choice since I can pick what I want to have installed. I'm using TWRP 3 but everytime I want to flash Open GApps with AROMA installer it will reboot back into the recovery. I have to tried installing a few times before it will install correctly. Does anyone know of a fix to this? :/ Other Open GApps works fine but I prefer the one with AROMA installer.

Tried it for the first time today (always used other packages before) but to me it's broken...It does the same as you on another device (S5)...I guess somewhere there must be a solution to this.

It is at this time not solved.
Have someone a idee?

Reroot your phone with kingoroot then transferall the zip files to to extSD card make sure u have extracted the twrp image file. Then download an app called Flashify from the play store . Open the app go to recovery choose file from the sd card i.e recovery.img and flash it . After this reboot ur phone in recovery mode follow the procedure of flashing files to install CM13 and Gapps

@Frappy @CyberHawk44 @LinoX this is a workaround that worked for me:
wipe cache/data etc..
flash your desired rom + Su/Xposed/etc..
wipe cache/dalvic cache
reboot into TWRP
then flash Aroma gapps
Give it a try it works

I know that all and have many try but I think I have found it. I must try it more...

Follow gapps on git hub having issue id : 503
TLDR; Just mount system folder also in twrp and then install gapps.

Installing Kernel

Hi all expert and senior
I am currently using Dexter's new PRIMEE p9-3 ROM.
And now I plan to flash the kernel suggested by him.
I never install kernel before, so I want to make sure I have the correct steps before I start the installation.
1. Download picasso-hc-kernel-picasso-hc-kernel-master.tar.gz into SD.
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. Wipe cache and cache.
4. Flash the picasso-hc-kernel-picasso-hc-kernel-master.tar.gz
5. Install PRIMEE_AcerIconia-p9.zip
6. Install primee-patch-p9-3.zip
7. Reboot.
1 more question, can I use the tar.gz file instead of zip file??
.tar.gz? I think this file is a source, usually kernels and ROMs come in .zip
Check again that kernel thread and see if you can find a zip file.

Xposed

Any way to install xposed via Flash fire? If so, link? ?
Yeah. Get the latest zip from arter97's post as well as XposedInstaller.apk (the lollipop version!).
It's something like xposed-v5-krait-blahlblahblah.zip
Reboot into flashfire and flash it, but don't reboot yet! Using either the file manager + "run command" facility in flashfire or a shell via adb, do this:
create a directory /system/app/XposedInstaller with the mode 0755. Then use SafeStrap's file manager to copy XposedInstaller.apk into that directory and set the mode to 0644.
You're done. Reboot and you'll be fine. I'm going to create a zip that does this at some point. I don't know why no one else has.
Just did this myself, so far so good. Heres the exact steps.
Install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4 (latest: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811)
Using Flashfire v21
Clear Cache
Backup Boot, Recovery, System, Data
Flash xposed-v65-sdk21-arm-arter97-V5-krait (latest: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3113463)

@k2828 am cen percent sure. am not telling to format system. if u format the system then only u will lose the current Rom.
check that is is saying that "Can't install this package on top of incomparable data run a factory reset"
when format the data the u will not lose the the current rom u will only lose the user data such as installed app, contacts saved in phone etc. actually formatting data means factory reset which will turn ur phone ROM into brand new u have to start over form the beginning. if u want to be safer side first do an nandroid backup of current stock ROM man then only u can restore that at any cost
look at the following step posted by @Rox
1. Download the ROM from the link below
2. Download GAPPS
3. Transfer the zip files to your SD card
4.. Reboot to recovery mode ( Vol UP + Home + Power )
Note: It is highly recommended to use TWRP recovery
5. Optional: Do nandroid backup
6. Wipe data / Factory Reset
Note: Needed if you are updating from other andorid version or stock
7. Install CM zip and GApps zip
8. Reboot to system
in the first you have to do Wipe data / Factory Reset the only u have to install the CM zip
still if u not believed me in the sense
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Esmt7eIIPjc
check out this video in that he will be using the CWM recovery to flash CM12.1 he will perform the Wipe data / Factory Reset first and then only he will Install CM zip and GApps zip

thx dude. i have overseen that there is a sd card slot. it worked after wipping data
What if i m rooting first tym my s3 neo

How I installed CM13 without a PC

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU VOID YOUR WARRANTY NOT THAT THERE IS ONE ANYMORE SINCE THIS DEVICE IS OLD BUT STILL I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU LOSE YOUR FILES OR BRICK YOUR DEVICE
the links are at the bottom
step 1. download kingoroot
step 2. root your samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 with kingoroot and uncheck install recommended apps it might tell you root was not successful but most likely it was go to your app drawer and see if you have a superuser app
step 3. if you see the superuser app root has most likely succeeded
step 4. from the playstore download rom manager from clockwork mod
step 5. once rom manager from clockwork mod is installed open it
step 6. click on install recovery it will ask you what device you have put your device there
step 7 . install the touch screen version of clockwork mod this will most likely lead to it installing twrp because it glitches
step 8. once it has installed twrp boot into recovery by holding the power button and the volume down button
step 9. if twrp is properly installed it will go into twrp
step 10. reboot into android and download super su from the website to flash onto your device
step 11. dont flash it yet go into the kingoroot superuser app and go into the settings and click unroot and say yes to unroot now it will reboot
step 12. once you also uninstall the kingoroot rooting app reboot into twrp and flash the supersu zip
step 13. reboot
step 14. download the unified cyanogenmod 13 for the samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 it also works for the samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 .
Step 15. Download gapps from open gapps select android 6.0 arm pico and then download that
step 16. Reboot into recovery and make a backup of system and boot and data (if you want to go back to the stock os and keep your data)
Step 17. Once the backup is complete go to install and click on the cyanogenmod file . And flash that . DO NOT REBOOT YET INTO CYANOGENMOD
Step 18. Once you flash that flash the gapps arm pico file DON’T BOOT YET
step 19. boot cyanogenmod
Step 20 . Cyanogenmod will setup gapps and super su for you
Step 21. Setup cyanogenmod
Step 22. If it says unfortunately setup wizard has stopped unexpectedly and the google play frame work and the play store does then keep going in this instructions
Step 23 . Shut down and go into recovery
Step 24 go into advanced wipe and wipe everything except internal storage and your sd card (if you have one)
Step 25. Flash cyanogenmod again and flash the gapps file again and the super su file then reboot
Step 26. If that still gives you the same says unfortunately setup wizard has stopped unexpectedly and the google play frame work and the play store does then go back to step 23 again until it works .

why so complicated??
before you start:
download latest common-twrp as zip from android-andi http://andi34.github.io/recoveries_tab2.html
download the rom that you want to install.
download gapps package if needed http://opengapps.org/ or gapps from deltadroid https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-minimal-gapps-gapps-lp-20150107-1-t2997368
download latest supersu.zip from https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133 (you only need it for omnirom or aosp)
put all these downloaded files on your ext. sd.
step 1. download kingroot.apk https://kingroot.net/ and root the tab.
step 2. download twrp manager from playstore and install latest official twrp version (2.8.5.0) with it.
step 3. update your current twrp with the common-twrp from android-andi that you have on your sd.
step 4. reboot back into your updated twrp and wipe cache, dalvik/art, system and format data. confirm format with yes.
step 5. reboot into recovery twice. now you can install the rom, gapps and supersu (only needed on omnirom and aosp). very important: flash the gapps right after the rom file without any reboot.
step 6. if install ready wipe dalvik and reboot system (first boot need some time)
its really complicated because kingoroot contains malicious code for ads that pop up and it installs random things thats why u gotta flash super su

Maybe you should change the name of thread to "how I installed cm13"? And include without pc. Much easier with computer.
Pc way,
1. Flash twrp with odin (plenty of guides here on xda for odin)
2. Reboot to recovery after flash.
3. Wipe/format data,cache, davik and reboot recovery
4. Install rom/gapps (no need for su, cm13 prerooted). Reboot system and enjoy

How to install DotOS?

Hello hopefully this question is allowed and this is the right place to ask. If not pls dont hurt me.
So i saw a thread about DotOS and it looks really nice so i thought i should install it. But tbh i'm totally lost. I have a Galaxy S5 SM-G900F model. And i dont know what to do to get something like a Custom Rom to running on it. I saw something about Bootloader there then some Recovery tool and Flashing. But nowhere i found a real "Tutorial" or Step by Step guide. So before i do something stupid and destroy my Phone i ask here for help. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advice!

Did you wipe data before flashing the rom?
You can manually just goto settings and clear data of every Google app but really if you wiped data before you flashed the rom you wouldn't need to do this
Can't really suggest anything else
I use lineageos 15.1

I did everything what you sayd. System, Cache, data and dalvik/art cache. And after flashing again dalvik/art cache. And i cant access the Menu at all. Like i said its like a "First Time" Setup and i cant skip it. It just wants to search for Updates and it doesnt go away.
EDIT: I tried to restart the phone. In the left Up corner it say: Waranty something about Kernel in yellow. And the Boot time takes some time longer. But it starts without a problem. But still i cant skip past the "Checking for updates" sequence.

Wipe everything again
Flash rom zip only
Boot the rom
Go back into recovery mode
Flash gapps and magisk
Restart
Or you can manually disable the welcome screen by editing the build.prop
It's probably a rom thing but since I don't use it I can't advise further
If you can't get it working use the official lineage os 15.1 rom instead

Flash process is as I originally wrote
Also make sure you are using the latest bootloader & modem

Alright so i flashed the rom only and started it. Works without a single Problem. So i guess maybe its something with the Google Apps. But now i installed Google Apps without Magisk and it works too. But when i want to open Google Play Store it just tells me: Google Play Services keeps stopping. So is it something with the MindTheGapps? I used this version: MindTheGapps-8.1.0-x86-20180808_153917
IMPORTANT EDIT!!! :
So i tried Lineage OS as suggested. Same problem. Google Play Services stopped working. So its 100% a Google Apps problem at least i think so. Any idea how to fix this? Tried MindTheGapps x86. OpenGapps on DotOS site with Arm64 then it failed and told me to use for my device the ARM version. Good installed that. Worked but there also Google Play Services stopped working. So what is the problem here? Also i used that Bootloader & Modem thing so i use the latest of these things.

Sorry my mistake - I got confused over which gapps you were selecting

As long as you wiped system data and cache and then flashed the rom zip & the arm gapps no reason why it would
You can always format data instead (option on right of to advanced wipe) but make sure you transfer anything on internal storage you need to keep to pc first)
You can always try OpenGapps instead
Arm 8.1 nano

Go to Wipe option on TWRP
Click Advanced Swipe
In the option "Select partitions to wipe", choose:
Dalvik/ART Cache
System

Cache
Let MicroSD and USB Storage off. Don't choose them.
So swipe to wipe
Then try to make all the whole proccess again...
For Galaxy S5 will be always ARM. I've always used OpenGapps, since MindTheGapps seems gliched to me.
