Another home button thread - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Just wondering if anyone's home button isn't 100% tight? Mine makes a tiny clicking sound if I tap it and wiggles ever so slightly. I don't want to return it for that reason since everything else about the phone is perfect, no tint, no dead pixels, Sony sensor like I wanted, etc. but I'm just curious how everyone's is.

Thumbs up for Breaking Bad reference.
Looks like this was around with the S6 too, lots of Google responses including this one which just solidifies my decision to keep it:
This has ALWAYS been the case with the Galaxy series of phones.
I had 7 replacement S4s, YES 7!!! Because each replacement I got had a fault be it pink tint, green tint, banding on the screen, wobbly power buttons, wobbly home button etc
I finally gave up on my 7th handset and made do with a defective power button as it had a near perfect screen.
So basically, I would rather a wonky home button than half a screen that's pink.
Think twice about sending in for replacement.

As long as it doesn't get worse or break down the road I don't care. There's no rattle, just a tiny bit of play. Not worth gambling on another device I reckon.

[Q] Tab with Yellow patches - has it succumb to the white iPhone issue?

The Tab is the first gadget I have meticulously looked after buying it a screen protector, leather case etc. What a surprise it was when I took it the case and found some minor yellow faint marks... Ignoring them thinking it was the light I put it back in the case...
Fast Forward 1 month
The yellow patches have increased and are now an unsightly brown!!
It really does look like Samsung have been hit by the same issue the original white iPhone did.
The below picture has had the main marks highlighted in red circles. The other marks are the poor quality camera of the *ahem* white iPhone I own...

What do others think? I have tried using my glasses cloth and cannot remove any marks. It's not got wet and it certainly hasn't been overcharged...
Maybe contact Samsung for a warranty replacement? I'd be miffed if my device turned brown over time.
Just off phone with them. EXTREMELY quick to say it is nothing to worry about but their technicians would like the device back for repair as soon as possible.
Was a weird call actually, normally you just get the whole 'please send your device to here and we'll fix it if needs be'. This time I got:
'Mr James, I need to call you back after I have checked something..'
Then on the call back
'it is nothing to worry about, your handset will be absolutely fine but we would like it back as soon as possible for repair. Again it is nothing to be concerned about.'
Sounds rather suspect to me.
Lol, sounds like they think it's going to burst into flames and cause bodily harm resulting in very expensive litgation. Enjoy your new tab when you get it

[BUILD Quality] Slight spacing between Glass and the metal boarder..Anyone else?

Hello Guys,
My two weeks old TF got some build issues as most of the TFs which not really bothers me.
One thing bothers me little more, There Slight spacing between Glass and the metal boarder..Anyone else? On the HDMI port side. The spacing is not too big but I can see for example the silver metal part of the HDMI port if I look carefully.
Anyone else got such problem? Should I send it to warranty fix? Or I should just ignore it? If it got no technical bad aspects on my device's life I dont care keep it as is... And if one day I have some major issue which prevents from me to use it I can ask them fix this gap by the same chance...
Whats your thoughts?
Thanks!

I don't have any gaps, but i do have lines of white glue in the join at the bottom.
i have the gap by the bottom port as well. Same as the guy who took the pic
Sure, I've got a similar gap to that on the right side of the screen... it's not like it's a huge issue though :\ it still runs perfectly.
Mine too
Mine had a gap around most of the LCD. On the volume button side I could see the inner workings of the power button and volume button through the gap. When I sent it in due to a power button issue they replaced the LCD due to a bad pixel. No gap when it came back.
I emailed asus in israel this picture asked them if its ok and can danger the device due to exra needless holes \ gaps.
Besides its looks bit weird i dont mind it works cool!

Problems with the screen

I have bought a SGS II and I like it a lot but I have some screen problems (and it is not related to the yellow/blue tint on the left side). My problem is that compared to the screen of SGS I, my screen is much worse, because there is a kind of "layer" (only noticeable with low bright and you have to pay a bit of attention)like this:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
that makes that when the brightness is low (on the device) the screen should be like this:
but instead of that I see something like this:
. It's a kind of layer that is showed every time, so I see that noise and I think that something is wrong with my device, or do you have this problem too?
Sorry, but I can't post URLs, so open them.
Like some sort of static image noise or dithering is going on, thats absolutely not normal.. What you can do is maybe go back to the store and have it check/compared with another unit.
Defective screen? Take back to shop!
looks like a (bad) screen protector foil is applied. if that's how your screen looks like without anything applied to it, return the device to the shop...

That's what I will do, I hope my next SGS II doesn't have this problem, anyway, I have to wait at least one month to receive a new one .

Bubble under glass

I got my note 4 day after launch and yesterday morning a bubble showed up under the glass on the left top corner of the screen At first I though it was the screen protector that had a bubble underneath but after taking the screen protector off it is actually under the glass. The bubble is about half inch long by 1/8th inch wide or so. I couldn't find any info on anyone else with this problem. I went to Tmobile and they sent a replacement phone out right away. Anyway just seeing if anyone else has had this problem. There is no damage to the glass or screen just a bubble under the glass. XDA wont let me post photos in my posts yet so once I'm over 10 posts i'll put some pictures of it up.
Looks like glue wasn't cured right. Were you able to "push" bubble out by pressing on screen or is more like cured glue separated from glass?
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
Pressing on it doesn't make the bubble go away or change shape in any way.
be good if some way we can see a picture.

There it finally allowed me to post photos.
yeah that's a strange one! Only thing I can think of is that it was there when you first bought it, but it was too small for you take notice until it got bigger!
Exchange!
This is the adhesive that fuses the LCD panel to the glass digitizer separating. Definitely a factory defect and definitely get it exchanged. This should not be happening.
Mine is separating in the same spot. Can only see it when the light it on it just right, hasn't gotten as bad as yours yet

LIght Bleed

I got a samsung 4 tab 8 as a part of a promo from comcast (well really I am paying for it in the form of a two year contract).
However, it has a decent amount of light bleed on the lower left side. About the size of a half a quarter. I noticed it when I was in my room with the lights off so it is dim, not dark and the display was only 50% brightness. I was watching a movie and it shows up on the black bar. Being pretty anal this really bugs me.
But is it worth trying to get a warranty repair for? If I had bought this from the store it would be going back, but warranty repair is a different animal.
What do you guys think?
Can you post a picture or a link to a picture of what it looks like? Thanks
What you're asking is pretty much a matter of your own opinion but I can tell you this is not an isolated thing as mine (that came from a major retailer ) and Im sure many others have this problem, so theres a chance youll just get the same thing again unless maybe you're really lucky and they manage to hand pick you one that dont, which may or may not be possible if all the displays from the manufacturer are like this. I can only tell on mine when the screen is all black, but yes its a bit irritating to get this with the Samsung name...

SO this is what I am dealing with. It is viewable from 30% and up in a poorly to dim lit environment. At 50% it is viewable with standard room lighting. It goes invisible if the lighting is good.
