Something wrong with my Note 3 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys
I don't know where to start but here we go
last week i bought a used Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ! on the system it shows Note 3 N9005 , and there's also the option of 4G/LTE so i was convinced that this is a N9005
everything works fine ; but the network signal is so weak and it only show " E " instead of " H " or " 4G "
And this is really what made me mad : When i verified the IMEI on several websites it shows That it's " a Note 3 N900 " !!!!! i couldn't believe that
cuz on the system it's N9005 ! on the Recovery it shows N9005 ! when i flashed a rom on it I used The N9005 Rom and it works ! on the boot logo it shows N9005
Only on imei verification it shows N900
So please is there any help ! what should i do ?

Run Phone Info from Play Store.

I don't know how to post images
It's not allowed to post images from an url
cuz this is my first post here
But on the app it shows N9005 also and everything is fine
i just can't understand

Weak Network >> Wrong Modem or Wrong settings /Wrong CSC .
IMEI wrong reads like its a stolen phone with a cloned IMEI .
Are you sure you have checked all in Phone Info .

Yeah everything in the app looks fine as a N9005
I tried even more apps wich shows informations about CPU and GPU and it shows the configuration that exist in N9005 not in N900
But whenever i check the imei it shows that this phone is N900 !!!!
I flashed it with several ROMs custum and official ! But nothing changes
Too weak network , it shows only "E"
My brother has the same model "Note 3 N9005" and he has no problem with network : 4G works like a charm ( we are on the same floor) so the problem is not from the network provider
Could you please tell how to change the modem or the CSC or whatever !! I really apreciate your help

is the IMEI at the back under the battery is the same as in About Phone or *#06#?
but i'm suspecting something wrong with your antenna... or you can try *#2263# and change to LTE only
and please do hard format i.e clear data & cache in recovery before and after flash for best result.

Your phone probably has been injected with superimei number. You need to find a repair shop that can rebuild your imei number (or a working superimei number).
Try look at this thread to understand your issue...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639341

Galaxy S4 Gt-i9500 network problem

Hi All
i have GT-i9500 international . IMEI were changed to work on Turkish mobile networks.
it was working but after upgrading to 4.4.2 Network register but always : Emergency calls only.
i can call 112 normally .
when i go to mobile networks and search: i find my network : Turkcell. and when i choose it " Registered on network.
but : emergency calls only.
in service mode : IMEI CERTI:Fail
i downgraded to 4.2.2 but the same problem.
when i dial : *#0011# : UMTS: Home(CS+PS)
when i chose back from menu nothing happen.
i tryed all solutions in XDA and Others , tryed all modems. the same problem
i am using the firmware: I9500XXUBMH1_I9500OJVBMH2_I9500XXUBMG9_HOME.tar.md5
i cant install any other rom with Odin. just this.
service mode just stick on first page.
any idea to help please?
none
i cant help ,wait for ohther peolpe
* restore your efs backup
* It's very weird that you can not install other firmware. Remember that you can not do MG9 downgrade modem. Try install Kitkat with pitfile.
I used to root my Samsung S3 phone with different types of custom roms but most of them drained out my S3 bsttery fast. Due to this experience, I'm scared to root my Samsung S4 which is still in it's original rom and already updated to 4.4.2. When I looked at your screen shots, I kept wondering why your android OS was so high. I was thinking perhaps it was due to your phone being rooted? Is it because most custom roms drain battery faster than original roms? My S4's battery lasts much longer than my S3. I can put aside my phone with the wifi on and battery at 100% when I sleep. When I wake up, the battery is around 98%.
i have same problem anyone can help me plz
thanks in advance
any idea please

Hi mate,
The problem in the case above is that the phone lost its IMEI , if your case is the same and you do not have a efs backup , you will have to go to a service shop to have it fix , they need a tool like z3x or similar to fix it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help/registered-network-t2810940/page3
thank u,
my IMEI is fine its repaired IMEI "cause here in turkey somehow we have to do that" but as written above i get no network after return it to 4.2.2
any idea?
thanks in advance

please help with note 3 sm-n900w8 IMEI

i have a note 3 SM-n900w8 working with stock Telcel ROM, but a few days ago the cellphone service stop working. it says that service is not available any time i want to do a call.
i see that the imei that shows in the phone (*#06#) is not the same that in the sticker in the back. i have read many possible solutions on this forum for those with 0000 IMEI.
i want to know if its possible to rollback the IMEI in the back of the sticker to the phone so it can work again.
i appreciate the help you guys can give me.
Good day.

Did you do something that caused the IMEI to changed?
Or maybe it is due to refurbished phone?
My my app Phone INFO > Menu > Refurbishment Check to see what does it show?
IMEI 000 restore your backed up EFS folder .

Help please

I bought a second hand note 4 which came from abroad... dont know where but the device shows Sprint . The device shows SM N910F in 'about device'. How ever entering recovery the device info shown is SM N910P. I wanted to check for updates but doesnt work. Later i found the IMEI no. is fake ( shows a galaxy tab in imei info). Kies doesnt connect. 'dm- verity verification failed' in recovery mode. The phone is working properly but want to install complete stock. Have downloaded UK based firmware 6.1. via odin but doesnt install. 'About device' shows ' N910FVPU4COG5' (with FVPU) , the nearest i could find on sammobile is N910PVPU4COG5 ( PVPU which shows CDMA)
Please help me get into complete stock with proper IMEI. I dont even know where to start.
I'd recommend getting a refund if you can as there is a high probablity the device you've purchased has been stolen.
Thank you so much for your response. But refund now is not an option now, as I bought second hand from a friend who came from abroad. I need to find a way to repair it myself. Any ideas?

If you take off the battery, the label underneath should have the original IMEI? Is that there? Then you could put that back using the engineering menu.
See if you have the original label under battery.
the label also has fake imei. its the same number that appears in the device.
I checked few sites. What I think is someone is masking SM N910P with SM N910F ( read somewhere F is better than P and is easier to sell). I think my device has gone through same. I tried installing SM N910F original stock but the device didnt accept. I have downloaded SM N910P also but too scared to try as I have come to know that SM N910P is a CDMA. Any suggestions?
There are apps in the Play Store that do imei changing. Read those app descriptions and do some research. DO NOT PAY ANYONE YET TO DO ANYTHING. I am also looking, so i can get back to you what i find. So for it looks that imei changing can be done easily for free. But you just need to know a proper imei - this is the hard part.
Do you think you can peel of the label to see if another is under there? That may have the true imei.....

Looking at your previous posts it looks like you definitrly have a CDMA device, and from Sprint. This is being faked as n910f, which is an international version BUT GSM. The other possibility is described below...
In Verizon note 4, which is CDMA, there are two sim slots. This is required now by law. One is CDMA and other slot is GSM or actually meant for sim when abroad I think Sprint also is the same. I have Vefizon. Verizon phones are also facgory unlocked. If you are using GSM maybe try switching sim slots. In this case yiur phone has been flashed with international version firmware so it can be recognised on gsm networks. If you have a GSM sim try both sim slots.
EDIT: I checked this and I think Slrint does not have two sims.
Go to this site and post the problem. You will def grt an answer

You are not alone, I got that kind of device too, with same build number as yours. My goal is to put a sprint custom rom and I use miui, but as soon as I install twrp the device got bootloop, I back-up the rom and install miui, now it works perfect, even 99000 imei (maybe the original imei) appears.

Gents, have you tried this - Phone INFO ★Samsung★ from gplay? It's telling what you have in your hands. After that you can check IMEI changing and other things.

mobile region unknown

Hello to all
I have bought a second hand Samsung galaxy note 3 n9005. i have noticed that the region is mismatched. i am saying this because the signal reception is really bad. call wont go through and after some tries it will and etc. i do not know what is the real region of the mobile. is there anyway to know that? currently i have my imei intact, so i do get signals.
I am currently on KITKAT
i will be really grateful if anyone can help me out.
Hope to hear from you guys soon
Thanks in advance
Original region is not what you want .
You want firmware or baseband and CSC for the network you want to use now .
Phone Info from Play store will give phone details.
thanks for ur reply
Ic
i have tried a few firmwares that work here but their reception is not good
Modem / Base4band is the key .
hmm ic
that is the main issue
how do i identify which baseband (region) was my phone orignally on?
because there are too many of them available and if i try them one by one then it will take too much time and also there is a chance that the imei might go null
Start.
Where are you and what network.
Say you are in the UK and on O2 network then you flash uk o2.
But backup your EFS first .

I have done this but no go
Loose connection bad sim or hardware fault .
dunno
things seems ok apart from this issue and my sim works perfectly on other mobiles
any more suggestions please
Thanks

N9005 no network

I replaced my motherboard and flashed the latest stock firmware from Samsung for the N9005. After it booted it didn't had any network connection. WiFi and Bluetooth work fine though.
I tested network connection with my old motherboard and it works fine. I already tried this, but it didn't change anything: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help/galaxy-note-3-sm-n9005-sim-network-t3756825
I also tried different SIM-cards in the Note 3 but it didn't work.
Any suggestions?
IMEI correct ??

What do you mean exactly? The IMEI is different from the original one, right?
EDIT: The Phone INFO Samsung app says there are no available CSC Codes and the IMEI is gone. However, the Mobile Operator number is recognised in the Phone INFO app.
