Hi,
I just bought the edge, and could not find how to active the edge panel. According to the manual, go to settings->edge screen->edge panel and tap on/off to enable the feature. But I simply found no "edge panel" option. The first option is "edge feed"...
What did I do wrong?
Thanks in advance for your answer?
samsung messed up something with the side panels... some are missing feeds some are missing the panels....

Just found the solution: I accidentally chose "easy mode" at the store. Now I switch to "standard mode", the edge panel appears.

I had the same problem and was beginning to think I'd been ripped off, thanks for posting the solution!
Didnt get edge panel features on standard mote too i'm on s6 edge plus
I have s7edge and somehow the edge panel has disappeared and it doesn't show up in settings. Any ideas on how to retrieve it?
I just try the easy mode...It did not work.
It's started on the last update download.

I would like to know the same thing. On my S2 (JB4.1) there is a menu option to disable this (System / Accessory / Audio Applications). They seem to have removed this option on the S4 - it's not on the Accessory options screen...
Could someone explain to me what the "recommended shortcuts (earphones)" actually is and where can I configure it? I like the idea, yet I'd like to configure it.
But I can't seem to find a setting or app. Is it really connected to a "Page buddy" app? I have no such app on my SGS4.

when you plug in earphones to ur galaxy u get a set of recommanded apps to run in the status bar i have it on my galaxy s2 but on my s3 can't find it
OK, I've worked out how to disable this.
The notification comes from com.android.pagebuddynotisvc, which is called PageBuddyNotiSvc in the application manager ('All' tab). You can disable this service, and the notification + shortcut icons in the dropdown menu will now not appear.
Thanks pennas, I also noticed the "PageBuddy" app meanwhile, should've looked more carefully in the first place.
It's not that annoying to me, but I just still don't understand what the benefit is, when I can't configure it. Because the apps showing also seem to change. Meh.

Thank you for this :victory:
Its not a bug, it just shows your most frequently used apps.
Hey guys,
So today I tried S-Health for the first time, and I am pleased with the functionality and features of the app.
However I want to know how I can disable the constant tracking of steps.
Under Manage Items, the option is greyed out and says "Cannot remove default tracker".
I want to use the app when I want to use the app.
Up to now I had excellent battery life on my S7E, sometimes up to 3 days on a single charge, but this app and tracker seams to be munching away and if there is no way to disable the steps tracker, I am afraid I will have to find another app and permanently disable this one. Would be a shame though.
Thanks in advance. I am not going to root because of strict warranty purposes.
There are guides on the internet related to older versions of the app and earlier Samsung models. I couldn't find any solution for the latest version on our phones yet.
go into shealth app and you will see how many steps u have done today. u tap on it and u will come to a screen were it shows all the steps u have made and other stuff. u will we see a word that saids "more"at the top tap that it says pause counting steps. i already paused mine so that why it says to restart counting steps.
Thanks a lot! It worked just as you described.

I have the same problem as the original poster and I tried your solution. Unfortunately, when I get to the screen you mention, I have no "more" at the top, but just "share". Apparently there is no way to pause the pedometer. I have a Gear Fit, which I often connect to the phone (Note3 with Android 5.0), but when I tried to stop the pedometer it was not connected. If I connect it, there is no difference. I'm using Samsung Health (not S-Health, they recently changed the name during an update). Do you have any suggestions? Have you upgraded to Samsung Health, and do you still see the "more" button?
BTW, if I tap the lower left button on the phone I get a menu that says "set target" and "view your step count data"; if I choose the last one, it allows me to select data from the phone or from the gear fit, or both. However, no option to pause the pedometer.

I have the same problem here. how can we turn off the pedometer on the phone? I have s7 edge. Issue I have is the phone is recording my steps and also my gear fit 2 is aswell and then pushes the combined total to my fitnness pal and under armour record which of course gives me inaccurate results. Has anyone resolved this?

So,
I had the same issue with myfitnesspal and shealth and i think we can resolve it. So first, in shealth main menu, go on steps and choose mobile phone. Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner and choose pause counting steps.

Thanks a lot, your solution just worked perfectly. The only difference in my Note3 is that I don't have the 3 dots on the top right corner, but only "Share". However, once I select the mobile phone only, if I tap the left button on the bottom (the one next to the home button) I get to the menu where I can choose to pause counting steps. Thanks again!

The "more" to which the OP referred is the 3-dot overflow button, not the word "more."
The important step missing is that you have to choose Mobile Phone (by default is ALL STEPS when you have some gear) and only then you will see the option to pause the menu. If you have ALL STEPS you will not see it.
In the latest version of S Health, you actually have to select "Mobile Phone", not "All Steps" when you have a Gear device. Once you select Mobile Phone, then the Pause Counting Steps option appears in the menu.
hi. anyone found out how to disable floating pop-ups? i see the option to disable it, but then you'd also disable the vibrate/sound.
is there a method to disable only the floating pop-up?
What are you referring to?

no. when a text comes in, it pops up at the top of the screen. thats the thing i want to get rid off, but cant seem to unless you turn off sound/vibrate as well.
Did you try settings>apps> then select the app that you want to disable floating popup > scroll all the way down to the bottom and select apps that can appear on top and then switch this option off.
I did this for esexplorer which kept showing floating add icons

Go to settings and tap on magnifying glass and search for edge screen
Found it but still dosent work at all. Under galaxy apps for example the app says (open) but i cant pressed open since the word is bluured like something is disabled. I dont find app under system apps either. Cant install it or reinstall it.
Here is screenshot of unable too uninstall open or reinstall edge screen. I enable it under settings but it dosent appear on screen. Also shorcut long press dosent take me too the setting. No response. Here is screenshot of bllurred open" button
SOLVED: i figured it out. It was Bk disabler. I did enable app back on but it didnt helped. It turns out i forgot that i disable also all the servises from Edge screen (wich also contain edge lightning). Thoes servises are under sub-menu in bk disabler. After i enable thoes back on, everything works like charm now.
I can't find any option to remove or disable the edge panel. Is there a way to do that?
Try going into Settings> do a search for "edge".
Turn off.

There is no such setting anywhere in the settings.
Open edge panel, punch gear icon, turn off
I would do that if that'd be an option. No gear icon.
I have Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 (Android 4.4.4)
Try finding it in apps.
Sure it's Samsung Edge? Not another app or malware?
I really tried everything! That's why I asked here. I'd appreciate if someone who turned it off on this exact tablet would tell me exactly how it was done.

Without the gear icon you can't adjust the settings. With the panel open it appears in the lower right hand corner at least on Notes.
I like Kitkat but it's primitive compared to Pie.
Possible malware... play with it.
No option to disable it. Not malware, just a "feature".
Maybe there's an app or something that gets rid of it? I have my tablet rooted.
OMG, I just figured it out. It's called "Multi window". Disabling that gets rid of it. Multi window
Problem solved!

Yeah I can see why it was hard to find
However Edge Clipboard is very useful as it allows you to store a dozen or so cut/paste's.
I use this constantly. The hidden tab is fully adjustable on the Note's so it doesn't get in the way.
