I have a strange problem in regards to the Bluetooth connecting to my car.
I have a Freelander 2 2011 registration. The phone connects fine to the car. The problem arises when I am on a phone call. Periodically whilst on a phone call (there appears to be no pattern) for no reason the phone would disconnect from the car. The phone call is still active (but now through the phone earpiece) and I need to tell the devices to connect to each other again and the phone call then resumes through my car speakers.
The strange thing is that I have monitored the connection when not on a call and it does not appear to disconnect at all.
I never once had this occur on my iPhone and I really like this phone but this problem is driving me mad.
Any solutions or recommendations?
Thanks

I had a similar issue with BT music, it would send to many requests, overload and stop/restart. There was an app that fixed it by deleting the data/cache that was building up but it required root and can't recall what it was called atm but if I find it, I'll post a link. That being said, a quick google search can probably give you the answer as well.
Im on exynos. No issues with BT in car whatsoever.
I have the same problem, the BT disconnects from the car during calls for no reason and then tries to reconnect again. Never happened with any of my other devices, including S6 Edge... really hope Samsung comes up with a solution, this is very annoying.
Just had this from Samsung
Dear Mr Murray
Just to update, I can confirm that this problem has been replicated within internal testing and our team are currently taking log-files for review to understand what could be the cause to then move towards identifying a resolution.
I am continuing to monitor and will update further as soon as I am able.

Not worried, as his name is all over the internet. He seams to the sort of guy that sorts problems quickly.
Many thanks to him for doing a good Job.
He is not the sort to do as you suggest.

Same issue here with a 2016 Volvo. Good to read Samsung already replicated it, let's hope for a quick fix
I have the same issue in my 2013 Volvo C30 T5. Really annoying, if anyone finds a solution please share it here. Thank you.
I think I found a solution, go to app manager -> click more (upper right) -> click reset app preferences. Didn't have any problem in last 2 days.

Hey Everyone,
I found this on the HTC Wiki and thought it was a good Idea.
I have been doing a lot of digging about this issue without any good results. I can't even find a timeline of when the problem will be resolved. There are plenty of poeple with complaints about the BT issue and everyone is calling, but there is nothing we can do but wait for Sprint and HTC...or is there???
If you haven't already, get the insurance plan on your phone, ($7.00 per month). Since the bluetooth is not working, the phone is faulty and needs to be replaced. Call Sprint and have them replace the phone. Keep doing this about once a month or so, always reporting bluetooth as the problem.
Maybe, if enough of us return these phones for replacements, Sprint, (or HTC), will realize just how much money they are loosing and fix the problem. We have been nice to Sprint and HTC long enough waiting for them to fix this problem at the leisure, it's time we force their hand.
These companies have to know that they can't release faulty products and expect us to just sit around and wait for them to fix their bugs.
I have also contacted my states Attorney General informing him of this problem and asked that he ban sales of the product in my state until the problem is resolved. I advise you all to do the same.
Maybe after we all take our own action, they will listen. Please repost this on every forum you are on to help spread the word.
Good Luck,
Fight the Fight

Too bad insurance costs $50 each time they ship you a phone.. (unless you walk into the store and wait for an hour while they check out your phone..)
-mark
He's not saying to use the insurance. But more less the warrantee. There is two protections that come through the insurance, but I cant remember the name of the two. Equipment replacement and ____________________. The second one is where they try to fix your fone, free of charge.
ESRP, or in store repair.
Sprint and HTC are both aware of this issue I am sure, and this doesn';t just plague our devices. Going to the attorney general for something like this is just plain silly, and won't get you anywhere.
I also know you can only do 2 or 3 replacements per year with insurance. I highly don't recommend you waste any on an issue that is known, beings that a new or refurbished phone is going to have the exact same issue - and maybe more.
Maybe, if enough of us return these phones for replacements, Sprint, (or HTC), will realize just how much money they are loosing and fix the problem.

troubel is its doubtful they will be losing any money, theyll probably give the returned phones a quick once over, call it "refurbished" and it send them out to the next person who exchanges one
WHAT IS THIS BLUETOOTH ISSUE? I'm not having any bluetooth issue, but I keep seeing this everywhere....but no descriptions of the issue....just the statement that there is one. What is the problem?

yeah, i havent had one either, but granted all i use is a motorola s9 headset and ive beamed files a few times
my specific issue has to do with pairing my mogul with my bluetooth enabled deck in my car. The deck is unable to find the phone and when it occasionally does find the device, it won't pair. I've tried changing the registry edits to allow my phone to appear as a standard phone device, rather than a WM6 phone. Neither works.....
Sprint acknowledges that there is a problem and when i contact Pioneer (the manufacturer of my deck) they say that the deck is designed to be used with any bluetooth device.
for reference, my deck is the DEH-P980BT from pioneer.

The error I am experiencing and my customers as well is that when BlueTooth is turned on, the phone will freeze and needs to be reset. Pairing is no issue. What I've done is turn on the BlueTooth on only when I need it. Since I've started doing this I haven't reset my phone in over a month. It is annoying though and I wish a fix could be found.
My problem and many others is my voice cuts out for the other party sometime so much that they can't hear me at all, I turn off the BT headset and use the phone and they tell me now I can hear you very clearly. My voice tags rarly work with my headset too. The other day, I went to use my headset and it didn't work at all. I had to pair them backup.

I also experience various Bluetooth related issues. I do not know whether HTC is responsible for faulty phone hardware or Microsoft for faulty Bluetooth software stack.
Below are the problems that I have seen.
Bluetooth stack occassionaly crashes during usage and requires restart through CommManager. Often times in the morning the stack is unresponsive or stopped from overnight crash.
Plantronics 655 Bluetooth headset ocassionally loses connection to headset and requires Bluetooth stack to be restarted on the phone.
Sometimes the Bluetooth stack is stuck and the headset can answer incoming calls but no incoming audio is heard, just outgoing mic.
When using Motorola S9 Bluetooth wireless stereo earphones using the A2DP Bluetooth profile sometimes the music from Windows Media Player 10 skips every few seconds with music playing for less than 1 second and 2-5 second dead air and again 1 second of music and dead air... Bluetooth stack needs to be restarted to correct this issue, afterwards often the problem is resolved, sometimes WMP 10 needs to be restarted also, and sometimes the phone needs a soft reset.
OnCourse GPS Bluetooth receiver over a Serial Port Bluetooth wireless connection sometimes does not connect to the phone, a restart of the Bluetooth stack is required, when using Google Maps 1.2.0.9+ or TomTom 6.50.

i dont have this problem with my S9s
however sometimes i do get about half-second skip every 5-10 seconds, this only seems to happen when the phone gets particularly warm (like when im outisde on a hot day) and goes away on its own without having to restart BT, WMP or the phone itself
I have only experienced the audio fade with the S9 a few times and it gets resolved when I'm not too far from the phone.
But I have experienced it when talking with another party. It only seems to be on outgoing audio not incoming.
many said alltel rom fixes BT issue. is that true??? if so i am ready to load it up. thanks.
EDIT : Yes BT works with AllTel. Thanks Olipro
I upgraded my Vodafone HD2 to Rom 1.66 this week and have noticed many improvements, however the phone is now not operating correctly with my Range Rover.
When I select a number to dial from the phone book the radio is not cut off when dialling. The phone shows dialling then connected but neither party can hear each other when the call is connected.
My phone and the car both worked Ok on the Vodafone stock ROM. I have also connected it to a BMW idrive and as previously 1.66 still works for this.
I have now had a response from HTC re this issue. It looks like this is a 1.66 issue that was working on the Vodafone 1.43 ROM. I now cannot make or receive calls in the car!
New Response From [ Richard (UK - Ireland Support (Tech)) ]
Dear customer,
HTC knows about this issue, and we are working to build the hot fix to the bluetooth connection with the car kit. At the moment, HTC does not have any informatiuon when this will be available to download from HTC web site. We recommend to the customers to keep monitoring the web site for future updates.

I think I will wait for a solution rather than going back. 1.66 allows me to compile text messages and emails in under 5 minutes and makes the phone finally usable!
if you find a solution please post it here, because i am desperatly looking for an answer
I am mystified! I drove the Range Rover today for the first time in a month and the phone rang. Call was OK and afterwards made other calls.
Other than delete the call register I can think of nothing else I have changed or done on the HD2 to make this work.

Similar kind of Bluetooth issues on Ford In-Car bluetooth
I have a similar issue with my phone not disconnecting from a call.. (ok not similar but a bluetooth issue nonetheless) with Ford Covers+
seems to be hit or miss whether it disconnects.. i have to literally soft reset the phone and sometimes soft reset my car to get it working again!!
would be interesting when HTC send this FIX out..

well my phone is a Toshiba TG01 so it might not be HTC issue, but WM 6.5
I think I am onto something here:
if the BT is switched on after I start the car, everything works perfect!
the only inconvinience now is switching BT on/off for each jorney (especially annoying during short trips with short stops - to the local shop, post office etc)
Hi all! My boss has the Edge + (as do I) and is having all sorts of issues with the bluetooth connectivity in his BMW. It keeps dropping in and out. The calls don't drop; the bluetooth drops and then reconnects. He's a business owner and makes tons of calls from his car, so as you can imagine, this is quite frustrating (and embarrassing).
Anyone else having similar issues?????
Appreciate your help.
I'm actually having similar issues now in my Ford Fusion. It will connect, but won't let me make calls or listen to music. When I attempt to play music it will say that BT media has been disconnected. Upon checking the status on my phone the media turns off, but the phone is still connected. However, neither really works. It's frustrating as it worked for several days when I first got the phone but then suddenly stopped.
Audi mmi works great. Maybe call your dealership and see if they have a update for the system?

My advice for the BMW is to check the firmware update for the specific model of car of your boss on the BMW website
It is not very much intuitive but I can assure there is this possibility and also the new firmware download is possible
I've been using a Note 3 for two years on my BMW 530 and at the beginning with their old firmware I had similar issues, then it was very stable with both music and phone calls. Now I'm using the Edge + without any trouble
No problem with Bluetooth on my Toyota Auris Touring Sport HSD, sometimes sms are not showned but they are well received by the car when I check them, and calls work fine. So as dengi_it told you maybe a firmware issue with your car.
I heard somewhere BMW and Mercedes will have some discussion to link iPhone and cars together maybe they won't support Android phone anymore in the future :s.
Thanks, all. Going to pass along this advice. Appreciate it!
Tell him to buy a new car!

Yes, I have the same issue in my 2015 M5. Bluetooth is essentially unusable after the latest update (OH5). This phone is going back.
UPDATE: He factory reset his phone and it seems to have fixed the issue. ::fingers crossed::

This is my second S6 Edge+. I thought it was possibly a hardware defect with the first but after the second one I am led to believe it's a typical shoddy samsung update. A factory reset will fix the problem for a few days and it will begin again.
Picking up the new iphone 6s+ on Friday. I've had enough of the bluetooth issues.

Sorry to hear. Good luck!
Works fine in 2011 Hyundai Sonata.
I am having a lot of Bluetooth issues on my Elantra. Works for few days and then it just fails to connect and I have to delete my car from my phone and from my car stereo just to get it to connect. It is a freaking pain in the butt. This is my second Galaxy S6 I have gotten and it seems mostly to be a software issue then a hardware one.
I have a new issue, and need some ideas...
I have a Mazda 3 2014 with built in Infotainment system, and I can of course place calls from it over bluetooth. My Nexus 5 would dial, and as you expect the car remains connected and the audio and dialling occurs through the car system. With my Nexus 6P, the car talks to my phone, and then immediately cuts off the bluetooth, a bit like a failure to communicate, but the phone will then carry on calling, and only if I try to dial from my car, and if the person has answered does it then lock on and maintain the call via the car system.
I can not find anything in either settings to explain it.
So, anyone have any ideas crutually why the 6P fails me where the 5 worked.
I have the exact same issue. I have a Mazda CX-5.

Would be the same system if yours is the current model too. Guessing it was fine on your previous phone too?
Yes, I think so. It is a 2016, so it is the latest system I suppose. I had a Samsung Galaxy S5 previously and it worked perfectly. This is my first Nexus, so I thought it was a Nexus thing at first, however it is really annoying. It is hard to explain because the bluetooth kinda works, it just has this thing that it drops and picks up again...
Bluetooth working fine with my 2013 kia forte. Maybe something to do with Marshmallow and Mazda Bluetooth system?
Yea, it is kind of hard to explain. Only found out today, so not been able to test it over and over, but seems that unless the other person answers, you have no idea it is dialling. It is like it (Mazda system) is being told it an not carry on. I once had the same issue (Nexus 5) when there was another phone option and it was waiting for a default to be set on the phone before it dials. It did not do it today, but I wonder if I make sure it is set in settings as the default right....
... nope, only app for calls is the inbuilt.
It seems like some people are having similar issues? --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/bluetooth-phone-completely-borked-t3241196
I had the phone for a couple days and tried some things like upairing/re-pairing with no results. I discovered it when I called my wife, the call dropped (or the car did the call drop sound) but all of the sudden my wife answered. I tried calling different numbers and it's the same deal. I haven't tried receiving a call.

Nice find. I'll chime in in that thread. I hope Google can solve this soonish since it is kinda a major annoyance at the moment.
I've had my Z Force for about a week and a half. At first, everything was fine, but now, BT won't automatically connect to all of the trusted devices. It automatically connects to my BT speaker at work, but not the one at home or my Ford Sync.
I'd appreciate any thoughts.
Having an issue with it dropping the connection when paired with the LG Tone Platinum HBS-1100.
I have mine since Tues. Connected to 2014 Honda and Moto 360 and Moto sd 11 headphones. No issues I have noticed, especially in the car. It connects quicker and continues pandora quicker than any phone I have used previously with the car (LG G2, LG G3, Turbo 2). I will soon test with a Ford Sync 3 system, a vizio soundbar, and an ECOXGEAR speaker, and some ihome cheap headphones. Hopefully all goes well.
09 Ford with sync. Having issues as well. Don't have trusted devices set up because of the fingerprint reader, but I do have issues with automatically connecting, especially if I leave the source on Bluetooth audio when I turn the truck off. If I hit the phone button, it will usually reconnect. Don't have any issue with my moto 360 though.
I think it's a Ford sync problem. I have a 2015 fusion. Mine connects but it's delayed. Unfortunately the automotive radios are only designed for specific bt protocols. This is a problem with many car systems. My wife has the same problem with Dodge uconnect and the g5.

But mine worked fine for the first week or 2. It also is a problem with my BT speaker.
Bluetooth Connection
The same thing was happening in my Subaru, so I went into the voice settings of the moto actions app. Once there, choose "Talk to Me" and then touch more options. Once I selected the "audio troubleshooting" button, my car bluetooth problems went away instantly. Maybe something to try if you haven't?
Yeah Ford doesn't have any options like that.
So, the simple fix was to go empty the Bluetooth Share cache. Seems like a simple idea, but I had never needed to do this on any other phone.
I'd had mine a while and one day I noticed my BT wouldn't connect to my speaker at work. So I tested it on all my devices and my Bluetooth doesn't work at all. It will not find any device at all. Yes I've made sure they're all on sync, search, find, whatever the option is. I've cleared cache, tried to dig deeper to find that there are no legitimate settings or options menus, no way to troubleshoot the issue. I even thought an update would fix it as I thought it had updated just before I noticed it not working. Well it's updated again and nope. Still no Bluetooth. I've given up. And to beat all, no damn headphone jack so I gotta remember to carry around my adapter to use an aux cord.
On Bluetooth people can hear me but I cannot hear them.
I have had my Moto Z force for a while now, and all of the sudden when I connect to any Bluetooth device I cannot hear anything when it comes to phone calls. All media works, and people can hear me. I have factory reset the phone to see if this fixes it... But it did not work. Anyone else have an idea or experience this issue?

I have the same problem too 3 days ago. It stopped working randomly. I was running Nougat with December security patch. Tried hard resetting and nothing. Now I updated to the January security patch and I still have the same problem, even after doing another hard reset. Could this be a kernel glitch or a driver issue? Bluetooth says it's on but it won't find any device and I can't pair any device to it. I hope Motorola is looking to fix this because I am from Europe and can't send the device to warranty in the US .

You can send it out, you just need a forwarding US address... You can do this if you do it with a middle-man https://www.shipito.com/ for example. might cost a little more for shipping, but it's an option that you have at least!

Thank you so much! I'll send it to warranty in the end. Moto is going to completely replace it. I'll have a Z Play to play around with meanwhile and then I'll see wich one of the 2 I'll keep.
My Moto Z has a similar issue. I got my first unit last summer and had to return/replace it because the charger melted to the phone (but that's another story). With my new phone, I constantly have trouble connecting to BT. I can almost always connect eventually, but it's NEVER on the first try. I usually have to toggle BT off and on, force stop BT, or restart my phone. So my Bluetooth isn't quite 100% useless, but it's a huge inconvenience any time I need to connect to anything.
Also fyi this is not related to the Ford issue--I'm connecting to headphones and speakers.
Bluetooth on G5
I can't connect to the handsfree on Mitsubishi Mirage
I'm having the same issue. All Bluetooth devices just quit. Headphones, Watch, Car adapter. Everything. I've reset my phone and nothing. Anyone had any success with any fix?
[Update] I think there may be something up because I mentioned it to the customer rep and they immediately said I need to send it in.
