From Sprint and SamMobile G900PVPU3BOK4 is the latest rom and its version 5.0 dated 12/02/2015. No updates i could find.
I'm guessing your custom Rom is based on something older than the current software and that's why you're getting this

Yes. It always says that if you have your status as "Custom"
i had a software upgrade notification and it started downloanding as you can see but i thought that it was for 5.0.1 or 5.1.1
after rooting my phone i got the same notification like you
Well the korean varients of this phone have recieved marshmallow and it seems that there are no interface changes ecxept for new icons :/ but it does add doze and the permission manager and all of the "underground" features marshmallow has to offer. When it comes to us though we will at least get the MM bootloader and all that jazz then we can develop S7/S7 edge roms for our device

Sad news... I was hoping for the theme store... I guess I'm going to get the LG G5. It has all the features I'm looking for and it will be easily unlocked... I love my s5. I waited for the s7 just to find out it was locked up. So I ain't going that route. Just hope for good development for the G5!

Hi Everyone,
If anyone has ordered a Nexus 9 LTE but not received it yet, I'm hoping you can help me out. When you get your tablet, a system update will be available out of the box. Please hold off on installing that update until you get a bit of information for me:
1. The bootloader version (boot the tablet into bootloader mode and look at the HBOOT version).
2. The baseband version (from Settings - About Tablet)
3. Open /system/build.prop in a text editor and post the values of ro.build.date.utc and ro.build.fingerprint.
4. When your tablet tells you that you have a system update available, please get the URL from logcat and post it.
Once that's done, do the update, enjoy your new tablet, and accept my eternal gratitude! If you need any help with any of this, I'll be happy to help you out.
If anyone would be willing to assist with this, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

I had someone on another thread tell me he got an OTA out of the box and after the update he was on 5.0.2 LRX22G. There have been cases in the past, albeit rare, when Google has released an OTA but no factory image. So on your N9 LTE, it came out of the box with 5.0.1 and you didn't get any out-of-the-box OTAs and it didn't force you to do a system update during setup?

Looks like they kept their promise with the monthly updates.. At least they did for this month. AT&T is getting V10I pushed out today. At only 46.7MB, I doubt this will fix any of the major problems, other than stagefright.

This would be huge if it fixes the issues. Can't wait to hear from someone who takes the update
So two things need to be done about this:
A) Does the update break root/can the update be done with root.
B) Someone with the touch issues should take the update and see if it fixes said issues.
I'm almost positive that at a mere 46MB that this may not include said fixes, but it's worth checking out to see.

It is just security. Another user confirmed that the horrible touch and lag survived the update
According to changelog only security update as promised by LG. I wouldn't search for any other changes if not listed. Or maybe LG never mentions all changes?

Anyone have a guide on how to create a rooted system image for this update?
I actually do love this phone overall, sorry just annoyed. Really thought 5.1.1r6 would be how they delivered the stage fright fix. As a former nexus 5 user and current nexus 7 user, every version of lollipop before 5.1.1 is garbage from my experience. Keep you device on for more than 24 hours and the system starts going haywire and randomly killing processes. And no I never had any touchscreen issues. I checked out the optimus G, g2, and g3s update history before I bought this and unless at&t decides to give their update department speed, don't except a major OS update until the nearest April after it releases

You can root by installing TWRP using ODIN.
Updated my phone (which is not on Sprint Network as I live outside US) and must say, I'm quite impressed. There are no noticible UI changes but the system feels more snappier than before. I guess the Doze settings have been worked too because of which battery life has improved a tad bit.

Hot-spot mods of previous builds will not work. If you want, you can use pdanet or FoxiFi for it (no need of a rooted phone).
For Xposed, you can flash the zip available on XDA but you will require root for it.
PG1 source code isnt out, so developers will be behind still.

Not sure my phone can live though an update to Nougat. It took 6 months before Google fixed the random reboots on MM (PG1 was the first really stable ROM). PH1 runs fine, just keep the security updates coming a while longer.
Can anyone confirm, that this update doesn't mess up the wifi tethering mod.

The hotspot mod still works
Did an OTA download for this and was wondering am I good to install it, even though I'm rooted and running some Xposed mods? I'll do a back up and see what happens.. But was wondering if I should bother?

No. You have to be on the official unrooted and completely unmodified stock rom with stock recovery for it to work.
Can someone upload this?
Where did you get hotspot mod from? I didn't find any PG1 hotspot mod. I am running PG1 stock debloated rom by saintz.
I still have hotspot mod from before marshmallow 6.0 update ##data# with msl code. After marshmallow the fields to edit are now greyed out. Mine is still intact on stock rom.

Anyone knows where is the downloaded OTA update file? It's not in the cache folder.

I'm not official right now to check. But when I last downloaded an ota, I think it's in /data/fota folder.
If you find it, can you upload it, please?
The battery life on this particular update is horrible. PG1 was the best update till date by Samsung on Marshmallow.
For guys on PG1, my suggestion would be not to update to PH4.
Also, PG1 has the best signal reception & voice quality.
pg4 so far so good. HOW DO I ROOT? help appreciated.

Hmmm.. For me PH4 seems about the same as PG1. No problems here. Still getting the usual 16 hours runtime / 4 hours screen time.
I was recently thinking to myself to flash Samsung's international firmware on my G935V. The phone's battery is terrible even in airplane mode and I think going to a non bloated ROM would be generally better. I did once have the international firmware but my phones screen started going weird and I flashed it back to the original. Of course it turned out to be a hardware issue and I got it replaced under warranty. Because this happened a day after I flashed the international firmware, I'm scared something similar might happen again. Do any of you guys run the international firmware on a daily basis on your Verizon edges? I was just wondering if it will be practical at all. Also for the one day I had the international firmware, the battery was definitely better without Verizon's crap on it. What do you guys think?
Been on the u firmware for a long time and I love it. However... If you're on Verizons most recent ota your bootloader is version 4 and you won't be able to flash the u firmware with out rooting it.

So what would happen if I tried flashing it through Odin like the old way?
Being on the U firmware the first time was great, but over time it's degraded for new. I'm only getting up to 2 hours of SOT by 50%, as opposed to 3. Not rooted either.
I'm thinking of going to do the PG5 Verizon firmware to see how things are.
Unfortunately it won't flash. The new bootloader will block what would potentionally be an older revision or a downgrade. Currently the u firmware bootloader is Rev. 2. Verizon managed to jump to Rev. 4 with its last update potentially screwing all stock users out of using a stock unlocked debloated firmware with free tethering.

Post a pic of your build version.
Excellent news. As of today the u firmware dropped an update which is on bootloader Rev 4. This is good for you guys wanting to switch and people on t mobile.

I just flashed the new 935U version this morning to my verizon variant. I was getting sub-par battery life on the verizon software so I am going to try this out for a bit. Keeping it unrooted the only thing I can't install is verizon visual voicemail. I have voLTE working but there is no option for wifi or video calling as with the verizon version. Seems to be much faster overall though.
Been using U firmware since June and no issues. Have already gone through 2 updates on U without problems.

How do you know if the VoLTE is working? I installed the latest 935U firmware and i never saw the VoLTE option. I saw it only when i flashed the "Samsung_G935x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR" via ODIN when i was trying to root. I also want to keep the latest 935U firmware and as far as possible avoid root.
I have the toggle in settings and confirmed it by placing a call.

You get to see the toggle before rooting ? Without any other mods to the 935U firmware ?
