Looks like they kept their promise with the monthly updates.. At least they did for this month. AT&T is getting V10I pushed out today. At only 46.7MB, I doubt this will fix any of the major problems, other than stagefright.

This would be huge if it fixes the issues. Can't wait to hear from someone who takes the update
So two things need to be done about this:
A) Does the update break root/can the update be done with root.
B) Someone with the touch issues should take the update and see if it fixes said issues.
I'm almost positive that at a mere 46MB that this may not include said fixes, but it's worth checking out to see.

It is just security. Another user confirmed that the horrible touch and lag survived the update
According to changelog only security update as promised by LG. I wouldn't search for any other changes if not listed. Or maybe LG never mentions all changes?

Do you even know how many versions of the G4 there are? H815, H811, H812 and a lot more.. It's not that easy to just code real quick to the newest versions.. Plus I have no memory or touch issues, maybe that's why I'm patient to wait for Marshmellow..

I'm not holding my breath for marshmallow, ATT won't roll that out until April, that's why they need to roll out 5.1.1 now! Really for crying out loud 5.1.1 was 2 months old when they released this thing. I'm going back to a nexus next time, screw this crap

Anyone have a guide on how to create a rooted system image for this update?
I actually do love this phone overall, sorry just annoyed. Really thought 5.1.1r6 would be how they delivered the stage fright fix. As a former nexus 5 user and current nexus 7 user, every version of lollipop before 5.1.1 is garbage from my experience. Keep you device on for more than 24 hours and the system starts going haywire and randomly killing processes. And no I never had any touchscreen issues. I checked out the optimus G, g2, and g3s update history before I bought this and unless at&t decides to give their update department speed, don't except a major OS update until the nearest April after it releases

Someone who isn't rooted would have to take the OTA then extract their system.img and post it here so we can inject root into it.
EDIT: If someone can provide me with a stock 10I system.img I can root it and upload the prerooted .img

I am looking forward to the update, but isn't 4.2.1 buggy compared to 4.2.2? I haven't used either, but should ASUS just have waited and released 4.2.2?

My guess is that if 4.2.2 just came out for nexus devices not long ago ASUS may not have it for a while. If I remember correctly from my wife's Nexus 7 4.2 was buggy as hell, 4.2.1 was a vast improvement. I can't recall what 4.2.2 improves upon, but we didn't notice much change after I got her tablet upgraded last night.
Thanks for sharing

Those of you that have received the update, are you just checking for update in the about section on the tablet? I just updated mine to the last OTA, hadn't done that yet, and was going to try to update through the system updates but it tells me I'm up to date.
As of now, I'm not rooted and have stock recovery, bootloader is unlocked though.

Notice any changes though?
I didn't stay on it for very long. I restored to my backup a few minutes after confirming it was still 4.4.2. I would have had to do a full factory reset to really see if there were significant changes, as Odin kept my /data untouched. I might play around with it some more when I have more time.
Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
I'm curious too but doubtful that there'd be anything significant. From 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 and then to 4.4.4 there weren't any notable cosmetic changes on stock android to begin with other than tweaks to dialer and contacts (which don't matter on thsi tablet). Most of the change comes in the form of bug fixes and security patches I would think.
I suppose its possible samsung did their own touchwiz tweaks at the same time but my experience has been that they enjoy letting current owners envy those lucky enough to purchase newer devices. A classic example is how Note 10.1 2014 edition owners had to wait until well after the Note Pro release before they could get their Kitkat update. A manufacturer never wants a software update for an existing device to steal the thunder from a newly released piece of hardware.
We'll see if other regions get this update. If all regions get ANG2, then I might reset my tablet and start from scratch with that firmware version. I should have checked to see if it had fixed that nasty Chromecast systemUI crash.

Android L?
Does anyone know if we'll be getting an update to Android 5? I have a suspicion the Note Pro will sadly be forgotten and left out in the cold by Samsung. I'm only really interested in the lower audio latency in Android L really; using FLStudio Mobile or Caustic 3 on the 12 inch screen would be pretty cool but the lag still present in Kitkat is a bit of a deal killer.
We'll probably get Android L/5.0 but it might take a while after it is released to Nexus devices. This isn't just a point update, but a major revision. This means much more testing and debugging for Samsung. The wifi only devices should get it first though.

Google has not even announced the official release for Android 5. How would anyone know when the 12.2 is getting it? The Note Pro is within the 18 month cycle of the release of the new android version so per their agreements with Google they will release 5.0 for this device.
I didn't want to know an exact date, just if we'd be getting it eventually, if there's an agreement in place with Google that's all good.

I have issues with it dropping connection 10ft from my router, not wanting to scan for new networks... the whole shebang. Sometimes toggling wifi helps, other times I have to reboot the whole thing. You can root by installing TWRP using ODIN.
Updated my phone (which is not on Sprint Network as I live outside US) and must say, I'm quite impressed. There are no noticible UI changes but the system feels more snappier than before. I guess the Doze settings have been worked too because of which battery life has improved a tad bit.

Hot-spot mods of previous builds will not work. If you want, you can use pdanet or FoxiFi for it (no need of a rooted phone).
For Xposed, you can flash the zip available on XDA but you will require root for it.
PG1 source code isnt out, so developers will be behind still.

Well you gave me hope and i found some site called devlab that had a tutorial with comments. In the comments i seen mention of an 85.1 alt version that a few were able to install. Short story : I got it installed and im happy on pe2 using the alt version
86 updated version works best. And is newest.

You can skip updates with Odin. PG1 has been the best MM update to date for me.
Improved battery and Wi-Fi Calling for me.

Sometimes it does. Just a couple questions though:
1. Are you 100% sure you're on B138 and not B183?
2. Are you able to manually check for updates?
3. Are you checking for updates over LTE, WiFi, or both?

138 confirmed. Doing manually and auto, and on wifi and cellular.
I have tried on ATT and Tmo. At some point i was receiving the update but it would fail, After about the third time it stopped prompting me to update. I was wondering how to reset the update counter?

You may end up having to do what I did which was returning to complete stock. Are you currently rooted?

I think not at least that's what everyone is saying.. it sucks man. I am in the us not Asia lol. Kind of ruins the phone experience for me. Just waiting day by day until it becomes available for free checking every day

I don't think you can get OTA's when rooted.

I think i know what i did. during the process of rooting, once i acquired root, i was still @ 138 when i was prompted. I realized that the hardware and public zip i hadn't flashed as part of the process, and i grabbed the 183 from some site, and flashed them before the update. so it appears that the os thinks i'm at 138, i maybe @ 183 without the system img... how can i flash 183 manually thru twrp, as it fails when i try.

That I have no idea about. Flashing is completely different on this phone compared to what I'm used to. Ever since I used FunkyHuawei to restore mine I haven't even rooted it or anything.

I also cannot get fastboot to work which makes me suspect something is amiss somewhere... also the e-recovery doesn't work making this worse.
