where is the system UI tuner - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Did Samsung remove this or did they just hide it. Mabye there is a way to enable thru ADB if its just hidden like the adoptable storage. This was a feature I was really looking forward to in M.

[Q] ROM for Kiosk mode of Iconia

I was trying to develop a custom ROM to operate Acer Iconia A500 in Kiosk mode. i.e., Hide system notification bar, Turn off system updates, allow only our app to run and secured access to settings panel. While for
1. hiding system notification bar - I can disable SystemUI.apk
2. To turn of system updates - Asus and other devices have SystemUpdater.apk or Updater.apk. But looks like Acer does not have it.
3. Allow only our app to run - Is there any modification I need to do of applications.apk?
4. Secured access to settings panel - This can be done through a pwd/login through the app as well.
But my question is, Is there any ROM out there which will help me achieve all the above? Since, I am just starting on this guidance from XDA members would help me tremendously.
Thanks,
Theja

ideas for you:
-use a ROM that has updates disabled.
-use gesture control from the play store to hide the system bar, and make it a complicated gesture, so that people won't accidentally show it
-either make it so your app does not need the back and menu buttons, or make simple gestures for them (EG, swipe with one finger from the right bezel)
hope this helps

There are no roms that are currently built. You would have to get with one of the Rom Dev's, and have them put together a custom job.
Updates, can be removed by removing FDUpdater and/or FWserviceupdater. I generally remove both from my roms (usually can't remember which does what)
Notification bar can be nuked by changing the xml and commenting the command lines. Then recompiling. The issue would be, when opening the settings app. You'd have no nav more than likely.
Having only one app that can run, would require some extreme expertise. And some extreme stripping of the rom. It can be done though, at least with about 95% of the apps. A couple of apps, might have to be left, as they are linked to either system or framework. Maybe.
As with settings access, and password control over it, not sure if this can be done easily. Would have to check password control apps to use as an overlay.
Like I advise, get with a Rom Dev would be your best option.

How to enable System UI Tuner ?

Hello,
As you may know, Android 6 has a hidden feature, called System UI Tuner. This can be enabled by long-pressing the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the notifications bar. Once enabled, a new section appears in Settings, called "System UI Tuner". I think Developer mode must be enabled too for this to work, and animations must be on.
But on the S7 Edge, this doesn't seem to work. Tried to long-press that icon, and nothing. Animations are on, developer mode is enabled.
Did anyone succeed in enabling this ?
Thanks !

Really ? How can I remove icons from the status bar, like the Bluetooth icon even when it is enabled, for example, and have more room for notification icons ?

System UI Tuner isn't available on Touchwiz. Samsung removed it. However, I'm guessing most of you upgraded to Android Nougat, but for those of you who haven't should get this app called Good Lock.
Good Lock is an app made by Samsung that actually replaces the System UI on your phone, and will make it almost stock Android. I sure you still won't find System UI Tuner by holding the Settings button, but I sure that there is a setting in the Good Lock Settings menu to do so. My thought is that the Good Lock Settings Menu is their version of System UI Tuner.
You can find Good Lock in the Galaxy Store, but if it is not there for whatever reason, then just sideload it from this link here.
(apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/good-lock/good-lock-24-0-16-release/good-lock-24-0-16-android-apk-download)
--enter the link without the brackets, xda won't allow me to post links until I have made 10 posts--
I'm not sure if this will work in Nougat, as in the website it said that the minimum version of Android is Marshmallow, and the maximum version of Android is Marshmallow.
If you are willing to take the risk, try it and let us know if it will work.
Hope I helped!
It is pretty much impossible
You can't enable it Samsung and other companies have disabled it in manufacturing
How to enable system UI tuner in Samsung j5 prime
Go here and try it. I did get it working on my s7 edge non rooted but I recently had to do a factory reset and I can't get it to work. https://www.recovery-android.com/tips/access-system-ui-tuner-s7.html
i think this would be a better decision as it wouldnt require a computer.

simply enable with adb once and you can tweak your phone anywhere without having to use a computer

Enabling System UI Tuner

Well, I got the Marshmallow update Monday evening. I have been tinkering around a bit to find the new features and what they all do. Well, I have seen several tutorials on enabling the System UI Tuner for additional settings options but I can't seem to get it to work. All the screen shots I've seen don't look like my notifications panel at all when I pull it down. It basically looks like it always did except its a white background. If I pull once I see the gear. But it doesn't matter how long I hold it when I release it all it does is open my settings menu. If I swipe down twice like one video suggests, then I have no gear at all in the top of the notifications screen. I only have the word edit. I don't see System UI Tuner in my menu settings so I'm sure its not already enabled. I just can't figure out how to get it enabled or why my notifications panel is different from every screen shot I see online. Anybody been able to get this enabled on the S6Edge +
It was a feature that wasn't ready for primetime. Samsung probably removed it. Nexus devices can enable it.
it's only for aosp rom

How to make navigation bar transparent in all apps all the time [ No ROOT ]

There has to be an easy way to make the navigation bar be transparent in all apps. I have used immersive mode in all apps before but I find it annoying having to swipe up all the time plus some of the apps dont behave well having this mod enable.
I have seen many threads going back to 2015 but no concrete answer on how to get a transparent nav bar. Now basically all I want is to archive something like the screenshot I inserted in this post. As you can see in this marshmallow version of android, when opening the app drawer the nav bar is transparent and the icons have a dark shadow in case the background of the app is white.
Is there an easy way to archive this look in Samsung S8? I am aware of xposed app. but is requires root. Is there a way to do this unrooted?
Apparently I cannot submit images since this is my first post. Just copy and paste on browser to see the images I am referring to

You can achieve that with Nova Launcher. Full version of the app is paid but I believe Dock settings are available even in the regular version.
I've researched this same topic pretty heavily and just like you haven't found a concrete answer. I'm pretty sure root is going to be needed though from what I have read. System ui needs to be modded from what I understand. ADB has come along ways without root permissions so who knows, it may be possible without root. I've tried various ADB commands with no luck so far.

I did the reverse (sort of). Installed Softkey Edge application and then enabled immersive via adb command and loved it since because I want to maximize screen real estate and the navbar gets in the way

Samsung Galaxy ON5 Multi-Window

Has anyone figured out how to incorporate the multi-window/multi-tasking function into the on5? The Xposed Modules are "alright" but they're just not up to par. I'm talking about a function where you can have an app open on both top/bottom halves of the screen without the overwhelming size of the fonts or layouts inside the app..
For example: In the Xposed MODs, the top/bottom layout is correct & even adjustable, but the content inside is as large as a full screen layout.
Im wondering if there's a way to fit the content inside to app to fit the reduced size of the screen.
I've done everything imaginable to this device (ie. Root, Adotpable Storage, Xposed, TWRP, Debloated, Stock ROM Backups, Advanced CSC Adjustments, Unlocking, Changing Device Carries while still Carries Locked, Serial Number & IMEI Masking, FRP Bypassing w/o flashing, etc....) but I have yet to find a way to incorporate a perfect multi-window function.
Maybe I'm a day dreamer, maybe nobody fully understands what the f*ck I'm talking about, or maybe Xposed is as perfect as multi-window as it'll get. If you do know of a way though, I'd be greatly appreciative if you enlightened me.

Bump because I'd like to know too.
What Xposed modules do you use? I tried the buildprop user to userdebug switch multi view, but I couldn't adjust size. And adoptable storage? This phone takes up too much internal memory, waiting for a "good" ROM.
