Cant delete or move stuff to external sd - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Anyone knows how to fix this? When i try to write to external sd , root explorer shuts down

Try using ES File Explorer (or other alternative). It could be a 'Root Explorer' issue.

If you are using an app like root explorer or even es file explorer with root options enabled you have to make sure your system is mounted R/W before you can make changes.

Where Root Explorer and my old fave Total Commander failed, this works:

~Which is the best root explorer~ SU file manager or Root Explorer

The title says it all which file explorer do you prefer root explorer or SU? Maybe one has an advantage over the other what are your thoughts?
Root explorer is good in that you can easily edit permissions. It has corrupted a file on my SD card from time to time though. Haven't tried SU. Right now, I actually use ES file explorer because I'm running cyanogenmod which allows me to mount the filesystem r/w using ESFile Explorer. EStrongs feels more polished than root explorer IMO, plus it's free.

Do you have root access? If you do download file explorer that will ask for root access and that will give you deeper access into the system files. Try root explorer or es explorer. For es explorer, obtain root access in the app's setting menu.

As mentioned by scream4cheese, you must have root access to even see anything in /data or /system, etc.

[Q] What file manager indicated for the Nexus 4?

Currently I'm using as Astro file manager, but did not like it.
Is to install the file manager in CM Nexus 4 with Android 4.3 OTA?
Thanks.
I use es file explorer, it's got everything I can think of, I even stream films via it.
Smb,ftp,cloud,LAN ect ect
Also you can directly throw apk's, apps or any file to other es users on the same network.
Es explorer is the way to go. And its a shame that android don't have a file explorer of its own

Ok thanks for the tips, but does anyone know of a link where I can get the apk manager of CM? I really like it.

i use solid explorer the full version ,the best for me
1º ES Explorer
2º ZArchiver
ES File Explorer. As a side note, if your phone is rooted, then you need to enable "Root Explorer" in the settings of ES Explorer to get access and write permission to the entire file system.
I personally like Antek.

Zarchiver is awesome, but I need root and ability to backup APK, it's the only reason I'm still using ES File Explorer.

Android 11: Can't see folders with external file explorer

Hi,
if i try to see a sub-folder of Android, my external file explorer (Solid explorer, Root explorer) only show an empty folder. The folder i try to see is this: Android/data. Are there certain restrictions of Android 11, which external explorer can't deal with? I don't have this problem with the intermal explorer and - surprise, surprise - with Total Commander (which i don't like so much...).
Anybody knows a solution or workaround to let other explorers look into these Folders?
Cheers
Clark
Seems like Google decided to restrict access to the Android/Data folder to "approved" applications.
Some other users said that Google Files (what a surprise) and Samsung Files work properly.
I usually use a root explorer, wich works fine, but otherwise most file managers probably won't be able to access the folder for a while.
Add MiXplorer and SD Maid to the list of working file managers. Hoping Solid Explorer gets updated soon!
I'm using root explorer just fine
I am rooted so if you're not then just root is easy

Try Solid Explorer and check if you see /sdcard/Android/Data/. Some file managers work and others don't even if you are rooted.

I'll be honest mate I've never needed anything else since root explorer was released.
Absolutely hate solid lol. Only other one I used to use was called Linda I think, G1 days
Xplore works, Solid Explorer 2.88 works as well
Using some of the recommended file explorers above didn't work for /sdcard/Android/Data/. Most of them were able to see /internal/Android/Data/ though. My Note 10+ wasn't rooted, and I wasn't planning on rooting due to the downfalls. I was able to see the files by mounting the SD card in Windows.
Mixplorer works great for me right now.

Yeah that's the last one I tried before mounting it to the PC. Now the question is which of these file explorers I should keep and finally replace ES File Explorer.

My vote would be Mixplorer. They have a few different themes, as well as add ons.
