Heavy battery drain even without using the phone at all.
Sim card not even inserted, any help would be appreciated.
Used Kies to do emergency firmware recovery (so back to stock now)

I have the same problem and have to charge the phone everyday. I really need help with this asap.

Hopefully someone will be able to help us.
What is your knox? 0 1?. If you ever root your phone or buy it from someone who do this once then that is the reason why you have battery drains. If knox is not 0 0 then you need to root your phone even if you have stock firmware. There is no other way to fix this. If you once root it, you must always have root.
You need this superuser version to work on Marshmallow and custom recovery twrp for android 6 to flash it
I got my phone from my service provider so it's not rooted. I noticed the battery draining the first time I used the phone. I really don't want to root it.

So knox is 0 0? If yes then try factory reset trough recovery. Power down your phone. Press volume up home button and power button, dont release it until you see recovery menu. Select factory reset. I've got exactly the same battery drain as you. Android Os on first place in battery stats but I root phone earlier
I took a screenshot of the Knox information.

If this isn't causing the battery drain will a factory reset still fix the problem?
You should get the download mode for knox info. That screen shot shows software while people here talking about knox counter. If knox counter is 1 there will be battery drain.

It seems at LG they take really their time to do things
Yesterday my tab has got an update to 5.0.2 over the LG PC Suite. It runs fine I like it!
Lollipop
I received the OTA two days ago, i'm from Brazil
What about battery drain? After update, I left the tablet in airplane mode this morning with 70% battery, and found it in the afternoon with 30% ?
Hoping in better performance in the future...

No I didn't, at this point i guess I should.
Here's a screenshot for battery usage. 6% drop in 3 hours is in airplane mode.

U should definitely factory reset. Use helium to backup ur mandatory app data (no root needed)
I took @C4SCA's advice about factory resetting and I'm getting better battery than I did on kitkat with m v700. It helps a ton as it rids the system of any lingering kitkat files. I'm loving the lollipop rom much more than I did kitkat.
All right now, after factory reset my gpad works fine
Factory Reset before or after the update? How about flashing a factory image, wouldn't that be the best solution?
Oh, BTW: Is LG browser still there on Lollipop? I really won't miss that.
I did it after the update, it basically wipes data: flashing a factory image would have been my B plan, just in case factory reset would never fix my problem.
And yes, unluckly lg browser still here...

Mine does that all the time too, but not the extreme jump you have, so don't know why or how it can do that with lithium ion batteries. With nicads or ni-mh or lead acid yeah the phenomenon is called "recovery" with nicads I think it was the memory effect issue.

Maybe you need a new battery or a factory reset or maybe a full clean installation of your rom.
"If someone helps, never forget to hit thanks ? "
I don't think that i need a new battery. Because i have 5hours on screen and 1d10h, then i think that my battery is good. I've flashed my phone to the new rom 4.4.2 with factory reset but always the same problem.

I gave you 3 options.
-New battery
-Full wipe
-Fresh stock installation after a full wipe and wipe cache + dalvinks after flashing.
And now the 4th.
Flash CM/AOSP based roms.

my s4 "i9506" very hot and consumes the battery and the CPU,

Is the phone running a stock rom and recovery?
Have you tried reflashing a stock rom with Odin and performing a factory reset before the first boot?

how can i know a hardware problem? or software?
If you tried reflashing a stock rom and you did a factory wipe before booting the phone for the first time, I think it is hardware problem.
How old is the phone? How old is the battery?

Check whether your battery is swollen or not. Place it on a flat table and swirl it. If the battery swirls for 3 or more turns then your battery has been degraded.

I can definitely get a full day of use but this battery life is not as good as my friends s7 edge that is a power user. On vacation my droid turbo died (lots of video and photos) and at the end of the day he still had 40 percent!
Just wondering if it's this new update? I have disabled every stock app that I don't use.
I am used to an unlocked bootloader device or equivalent with Xposed and such. I will say that I don't really "need" root with this phone. It does everything quite nicely. But I am kinda regretting letting the system update and now I am basically locked out of rooting this?
Would another factory reset be my only option here? TIA

You mention a droid turbo, is that the phone you have? If so, this is probably the wrong forum to ask in.
If you do have an edge, what firmware are you on? Afaik the engineering kernel for root has worked on every update so far, but it certainly won't improve battery life.

Thanks for the reply! I have an s7 edge for Verizon. And you're right for some reason rooting seems to worsen the battery. Here's my system info. I've tried using the battery optimizer, not using it, disabling Google sync, doesn't matter still has super high android system and android OS usage.
I guess I'll try another factory reset?
My friend also just confirmed what I was not hoping for, his s7 edge battery life has also worsened since updating.
Is there a way to revert back to previous versions and prevent update notifications? Tia
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
If you don't use vvm WiFi calling or video chat I say go u firmware. If you do use all that try a clean Odin install of the new firmware. Layered on ota updates can cause issues.
As you are on PH1 firmware, you cannot downgrade to a lower firmware. The bootloader was updated in that version. As the other poster has suggested, you could try a clean flash of PH1 or the latest u firmware.

You can flash the PH1 firmware from here and use the HOME_CSC instead of the CSC_VZW and you will unroot and not have to reinstall apps. Or you can flash the PI3 U firmware with no Verizon bloat from here but do the opposite and flash CSC_OYM instead of HOME_CSC_OYM and factory reset. All the directions you need are in post 1. These are the only two firmwares you can flash because you are on PH1 with a updated bootloader.
I am not currently rooted
