Hi, so I am running this rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429199
Everything runs great except Google Maps. I noticed that whenever I open Google Maps and use it for a minute or two it tends to just freeze for 2-3 seconds then closes and boots me back to my home screen. No FC's, no error, just kicks me out. This happens everytime I use it Google Maps.
I have cleared the cache and app data. I have not uninstalled/re-installed it yet. Guess there is always that..Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.
Thanks.
------------------------------------------
Update:
Actually, I force closed the app. cleared data and app data. Uninstalled the app. Rebooted the tab. After reboot I went to market and pushed the update to it. (I guess it doesn't actually uninstall since its a G App). After that it works fine, with no closes. Not sure what it was, but that got it working.
same thing here
Hi,
I use the same pre-rooted ROM and have the same problem.
Using the satellite layer in maps even reduces the time it takes to crash.
I also see this behaviour in Google Earth.
I've de-installed and reinstalled, deleted cache and reverted upgrades to no avail.
Any help is welcome. If a log can help, please le us know how to get it.
Thanks.

Edit:
I switched the ROM to Ezterry's (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265847)
Just wiped cache and dalvik and installed on top of Gersma's
That fixed it for me.
So today I noticed something when I rebooted, all of my apps are out of their folders in the app drawer, for example I have a folder called social networking and the two apps facebook and facebook messenger will come out of that folder every time I restart the phone. I've tried clearing cache and data on tw launcher, and powering off and on but none of these help, anyone else experiencing this issue?
Edit: Tried a factory reset, this did not fix the issue, apps are still coming out of their folders on a force close of tw launcher or a reboot of the phone. This is annoying as hell!

noticed this too with root.
I get the "Unfortunately, S health has stopped." error after I agree to the privacy policy. How can I fix it?
Screenshot of where it crashes
I recently uninstalled updates for S health because I kept getting update prompts when I started or used my camera. The update prompt issue was solved by uninstalling S health updates but now S health no longer works. Camera functionality is of higher importance than S health, but I'd like both working.
I have tried clearing data/cache for S Health, restarting several times. I tried download a separate apk from the forums for S health and S health services to no avail. I have all Samsung services running and there doesn't seem to be a reason for this failure. I'd like to run the original launch version of S health (not updated) since that's what's crashing the camera. What crappy QA work by Samsung.. jeez.

This happened to me during camera use of the stock camera and snapchat. It was asking for updates everytime the camera loaded. If I hit "later" if would force close. If I hit "update" it would force close. It got to the point where it was constantly force closing and I had to awkwardly navigate to the app manager to disable in between FC notifications. After I disabled it the phone rebooted, but things were fine after that. The next day I enabled it again and it acted like I was starting it for the first time. It works now, but I have no clue why any of that was happening.
I've tried disabling s health, enabling, reboot.
I've also tried disabling, reboot, enabling.
Still crashing. This must be happening to others. I feel I didn't do anything out of the ordinary to cause the bug on camera start, same as you. You were just lucky enough to react to the problem differently and get a fix by disabling the app and restarting whereas I uninstalled updates.

How do you get this error? Does this happen when launching the app from a widget or from the app draw itself?
What is the list of apps you have turned off?
I just tried to replicate your issue and I am not having any issues.
Try the following in this order:
- Go to your application manager
- Scroll over to "ALL"
- Find S Health
- Clear cache then clear data
- Then choose "Force stop"
- Right after choosing "force stop" go to the app draw and start the application.
I was able to UN-install the updates and clear all data and cache without running into any issues. Application came right back up ready for set-up. If the problem persists, then please show a list of all the apps you have turned off.

Firstly - No one takes advice from a troll.
Second - S Health is a pre-installed application (meaning it cannot be UN-installed / RE-installed)
Third - You've been reported once again.
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem or knows of a fix:
At random times with no intervention, the application info page appears for a (random) app with the force stop dialog in front of it asking me if I want to force stop an app. If I hit cancel it does the same thing again for a different app. It goes through many different apps in an apparently random order and then stops (also for no apparent reason). My phone is unrooted running stock ROM. I have tried many things including clearing the System and App caches changing launcher (I normally use Nova launcher) removing memory card but nothing seems to help.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for your help,
Jonathan
Did you use package disabler?
Yes I have package disabler installed. It doesn't seem to make much difference whether all apps are enabled not.
I have a problem with play store: if i download an app from it, it remains stuck at 100% downloaded but it doesn't install... it needs sometimes even 3 or 4 minutes to start installation. Same thing for uninstall... I have just tried to clear play store memory (cache + memory) and play services memory but it doesn't help...
Seems i have found the problem... i have uninstalled and re installed nova launcher and now it seems to work perfectly... i think that's something related to "add shortcuts in home pages" in play store settings...
It already happened to me on my former phone. But I solved the problem by rebooting the phone
Problems persist... i've done a factory reset but nothing: sometimes it's impossible to install/uninstall applications from Play Store, the progress bar of download stuck at 100% but the app won't install... sometimes it needs some minutes, sometimes it's just instantly... it's something play store server related? If i try to uninstall app from touchwiz it's simply instantly even if however, if go to app list in play store, the app i've just uninstalled is still present in the apps list... .
I noticed that sometimes even the manual update of phone firmware doesn't work and the "checking update page" appears sometimes instantly ans sometimes after some minutes...
Same problems here. Noticed the same when requesting system update for the gear s3 from the phone. Also happening on my tab s3...

Have you tried to update Google play services? And play store to the latest version. Do both of these then boot to recovery and wipe cache and reboot.

Fingers crossed
Some apps have permissions to draw over screen and we need to disable this permission for apps to install correctly. I had a similar issue on my previous phone where the apps were stuck at 99% installation and then just dropped off. I had to literally disable 'Screen overlay' for almost each app for play store to install correctly.
Also, If you are able to sideload apks without any issues then it may be a play store related issue.
Hiya.
I have the same issue, and have for around 1 week now. Only with PlayStore, sideloading works fine
Has someone found a solution for this? I have noticed that sometimes it installs apps without any problems and sometimes remains stuck also for minutes! I can't realize what causes these slow down... maybe is something related to play store servers?
I have the same problem with 100% download and no install afterwards.
But at the same time I noticed two other problems:
- Badge Notification is not working - I don't see the "badge" on app's icon, when I receive messages.
- boon payment app is not working; when I touch screen to activate payment process (NFC chip), it supposed to countdown 60 s, but nothing happens.
I don't know if this is part of same problem. However I've tried - without success:
- reboot phone
- clear data/cache Google Play Store
- clear data/cache Google Play Services
- clear data Badge Provider
- clear data/cache TouchWiz
- reboot to recovery and clear cache
I think there is some process that should be reset (clear)... Any other suggestions? I'd try factory restore as very, very, very last option.

I've tried factory reset (2 times), but didn't help...
Having same issue with S8 and Tab S3. Also notifications are delayed for random amount of time. Some lag and connection timeouts with different applications, not all though.
Tried factory reset couple times, it fixed the problems for a while but after 1-2 hours they came back. Checked with safe mode if some 3rd party app is causing this. Issues remained in safe mode too.
Got it to work for now by clearing cache and data from Google Framework Services and Google Play Store. Lastly removed and re-added my Google account, rebooted device and wiped cache partition.
Notifications are now on time, Play store starts install instantly.
Still afraid that this is only a temporary fix, waiting to see if these problems arise again after few hours of usage.
Seems there is an issue with Google services on some Samsung devices, mainly running Nougat 7.0
